COLEMAN FOR U.S. SENATE PRESS RELEASE: “COLEMAN CAMPAIGN ANNOUNCES $1.7 MILLION RAISED, STRONG SUPPORT FROM MINNESOTA DONORSâ€
By Michael B. Brodkorb | October 4, 2007
St. Paul – The Coleman campaign today announced raising $1.7 million for the quarter, thanks in large part to overwhelming support from individual Minnesotans. More than 16,000 Minnesotans have joined Team Coleman this cycle.
Said Coleman campaign manager Cullen Sheehan, "Minnesotans identify with Norm's optimism, and his positive vision for the state, so it's no surprise that they choose to support him financially. We’ve had a really successful summer building a grassroots army of support, and with that has come a lot of financial support from within Minnesota even in the face of fierce negative attacks from Democrats and liberal special interest groups."
This marks the third straight quarter the Coleman campaign has raised more than $1.5 million. The campaign will also report nearly $5 million cash on hand. Sixty-six percent of individual contributors were from Minnesota.

What, you mean his money might actually be coming from MN?
he did not even have to register button buyers to count them?

“Sixty-six percent of individual contributors were from Minnesota†. . . and all of the PAC and special interest money came from where?

[...] Coleman raised $1.7 million according to a release his camp just sent out. That is nearly 200k less than Franken. But here is the really stunning piece: [...]

[...] Well, Norm Coleman posted his Q3 numbers today and all he came up with is $1.7M. Franken announced his numbers and guess what they raised? $1.89M! This despite the campaign shutting down for a period to respect the bridge collapse and summers historically being slow for campaign fund-raising. Oh, and the fact that they’re a CHALLENGER in a CONTESTED primary race. Like I said, I don’t need spin to make this look good. [...]

The spinners are working hard on both sides today. Gotta love it.
I just have a few questions so we can better compare apples to oranges.
1. 66% of Norm’s individual contributions came from Minnesotans. First, of the $1.7 million contributed, how much was from individual contributions and how much wasn’t? Second, what percentage of non-individual contributions came from Minnesotans? I am guessing about 5%. I am also guessing that well under 50% of the $1.7 was from individual contributions.
It certainly looks like Norm is the one with more out of state contributors than Al.
Let’s get the numbers that can be compared realistically.
How many Minnesota individual contributors did Al and Norm have and how much did they contribute? We can start there and try to determine who the real Minnesota candidate is.
It would be nice to see Ciresi’s numbers as well.

Yes except we already know team Franken has cheated in trying to hide his “real” numbers of MN donators. He went and registered the folks who bought buttons at the State Fair. Al will have to work hard to hide where his funds are coming from.
