Michael, John Kline should be applauded for his military service to our country. It’s his service in the Congress which has been lacking.

Let’s hope he turns over a new leaf and starts supporting the troops instead of the military contractors. And that he starts supporting the middle class and not the CEO-donors. And that he’ll start supporting health insurance for children, and not Big Tobacco.

Nah….. I’m dreamin! He’s been for sale since the start.

Will be interesting to see how quick Kline goes negative against an Iraq vet. Probably about as fast as he did against an FBI agent. Honor? He left that behind when he retired from active duty, sorry to say.

First, to Bob: The phoney soldier Rush Limbaugh referred to was Jesse MacBeth, a known fraud and slimer of our troops. Google the guy. Are you lefties really that ignorant or just lazy?

Second, I wouldn’t underestimate Steve Sarvi. He was mayor when I moved to Watertown a few short years ago. He’s well-spoken (unlike the press release), well-mannered and a very likeable guy. He struck me as a conservative at city council meetings. In fact, I was shocked to find out he’s a Democrat.

I googled around a bit, and already the lunatic fringe is questioning the fact that he said he would not “cut and run from Iraq.”

A blue dog Democrat may play out very well here in the hinterlands. I must say I’m concerned about Sarvi’s announcement having come to know people in this area.

Median income is high in CD2, so residents may not care that John Kline voted against health care for children (SCHIP) and the state may end up with additional cost for Minnesota Care that might result in higher property taxes since Governor Pawlenty is opposed to other tax increases. So CD2 residents may not be motivated for change in their federal representation and may be content with status quo.

There is still that one army vet who is contemplating running against Kline right? An army vet could do quite well in CD2, plus CD2 only has a PVI of I think its R+2.7, that is certianly beatable, especially in a very pro-Democratic year. I think the race has the possibility of being competitive, but it probably wont be.

Gipper, you forgot the 6th. Tinklenberg very well could make the race competitive. I wonder how competitive Walz’s race will be. I figure when it comes to judging how competitive something will be, we are all really biased in favor of our own party so if you guys think Walz will have a tough run, I’ll believe it, although I have my doubts.

Was this release written by a seventh grader? What a bunch of hacks…The democrats are going to try to make this kook out to be another Tim Walz. But, to steal a line, I know Tim Walz and Steve Sarvi is no Tim Walz. And, to take matters further, John Kline is no Gil Gutknecht.
