TROUBLE TRACKING ELECTION RESULTS ON SECRETARY OF STATE RITCHIE’S WEBSITE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 7, 2007

I've heard from numerous people who had trouble tracking yesterday's election results on Secretary of State Ritchie's official website. According to people I spoke with, the website wasn't being updated fast enough and some of the election results posted on Ritchie's website were not accurate.

Wrong results? Check back in a few minutes for an example.

Please… you think Kiffmeyer did a better job!?!?! It took forever to get the results when she was there.

yes, the site is confusing to navigate. I got the impression that they didn’t have any 2007 results at all so I went to the AP.

    and yes, Kiffmeyer did better.

It took forever, I eventually went to the Tribune site which had them much faster. I recall having entire races over and none by 9 pm last year.

Probably, it took an extra while longer so Ritchie could mine the voting rolls for his campaign list. Cross-check it and everything.

The Osseo School District vote still showed all zeros on the SOS page even after all the results were in.

Also, Cable 12 (NW Suburbs) was consistently way ahead of the SOS site on the Anoka-Hennepin and Robbinsdale results. This was the exact opposite of last November, when Channel 12 lagged about 20 minutes behind the SOS site.

Ritchie is not capable of getting Kiffmeyer’s coffee!!

the state really screwed up electing this DFL’er!! :)

For the first time in several years I was able to go the the SoS site and actually get results faster than the New Services. In fact, that last thing I did around 8:45 was pull up St. Paul School board results before venturing to Arnellias. The information I had, even with the transportation lag, was more current than what people were receiving on site.

Try again, folks. But this was a great year for the SoS website results.
