Newton with all respect despite the disater the Gopher football team has been you have to call the tobacco the first:

Brewster has cost us just a couple of million and if Mason was still coaching that inept defense will still probably have been there so it wasn’t like much had change.

Not to mention the spinoff frauds of funds for groups that basically are trying to kill smoking everywhere in your home. Note I’m a nonsmoker and i find that to be unAmerican!

I know a lot of Republicans who contributed to Mike Ciresi’s coffers.

I believe it was called the tobacco settlement and the “donations” were involuntary though.

The tobacco settlement is the second biggest fraud ever committed in Minnesota. The first is Tim Brewster.

He probably has had a political party crisis for years…so what? Maybe he actually can see both sides of the issue. Is that a bad thing? Sounds to me that someone’s a little worried that Hovland might start peeling away a lot of normally GOP voters. He might have a hard time getting the DFL endorsement, but if he does, I think Paulsen has a big problem on his hands.

Interesting… if that’s even true, what about it?

How much money did he give to Marty? When? Was it a personal contribution, or through his business? Was Sabo considering or in power to steer legislation favorable to Sullivan’s business, which was a gov’t contractor?

Certainly, Sabo’s seat was never in jeopardy. And no serious Republican has run in the 5th CD in decades.

Sullivan never, to my knowledge, called himself a Democrat. He sure as hell never positioned himself as “defecting the DFL” to run as a GOP candidate.

Are there any other apples and elephant’s you’d like to compare and contrast?

Apparently so since he gave Mark Kennedy $250 in ‘04 and George W. Bush $1000 in ‘99. Those contributions are gonna be a bit hard to spin in a DFL endorsement race.
