BILL HILLSMAN: TENSION IN FRANKEN’S CAMPAIGN, FRANKEN HAS “AUTHENTICITY PROBLEM”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 14, 2007
Bill Hillsman, president of Northwoods Advertising and media consultant to Mike Ciresi's 2000 campaign for the U.S. Senate and to the late Senator Paul Wellstone's campaigns, gave a very interesting interview to WCCO radio. Click

to listen to the audio.
Hillsman says there is "tension" in Franken's campaign. He also says Franken has an "authenticity problem" and that Franken is "over-handled." Hillsman says Franken's politics are "certainly not the same politics as Paul Wellstone's."

Franken’s “authenticity problem” is that he really is a nasty person. I’m certain that that isn’t the type of authenticity Minnesotans are looking for.

It is any surprize that a consultant for Ciresi’s campaign would say such things? I think it speaks more to Ciresi’s campaign than to Franken’s campaign.
And let’s not forget Hillsman’s early works – snowmobile, anyone?

Hillsman is a joke, everyone knows he really had little to do with the Jesse ads he claims credit for. Since then his “work” has fallen flat, Ciresi would be wise to get him off his payroll.

For the record, he’s not on the payroll.
I guess he was just along for the ride during wellstone and ventura. yeah thats gotta be it

I’ve heard the same thing as Don before, in regards to the Wellstone race (don’t know about Ventura). The ads were great, but apparently he was not the mastermind behind them, but got all the credit. It’s a moot point.
