SOURCES: BONOFF HAS “MELTDOWN” AT DFL EVENT OVER FILMING OF HER SPEECH; CLAIMS CAMERAMAN NEEDS HER “PERMISSION”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | November 15, 2007
According to numerous sources, State Senator Terri Bonoff had a “meltdown” at a DFL event last evening when she realized her speech was being filmed. My sources claim that Bonoff told the person filming that they didn’t have her “permission” to tape her speech. The speech was reportedly being filmed by someone associated with Ashwin Madia’s campaign, who was there to film all of the candidate speeches.
According to my sources, after Bonoff’s “meltdown”, Madia instructed the staffer to turn the camera off.
The filming of candidate speeches is a standard campaign practice and Bonoff’s “meltdown” provides further evidence that she may not be ready for prime time.
It should come as no surprise to the dedicated readers of Minnesota Democrats Exposed as to why Bonoff may not want her speeches filmed.
Last week on Minnesota Democrats Exposed, I posted a video of gaffes and stumbles made by Bonoff during her speech announcing her campaign for Congress. Yesterday, TPT’s Mary Lahammer wrote that she is “hearing other DFLers are getting into the race because there’s a bit of uneasiness about Bonoff. She has great credentials and a solid resume. But in this new media world, one has to wonder if Minnesota Democrats Exposed video of her missteps at her campaign announcement have hurt her.”
E-mails sent to Bonoff’s campaign requesting comment were not returned by the time this post was published.
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

Of course the video hurt her and she knows it which is why she no longer wants anyone to record what she says.
The poor idiots over at MN Pooplius will have a hard time stating what a great canidate Bonoff is after this one.
Then again they will just act like this never happened like they are doing with the Ritchie story.
I have a feeling by the end of 2008, MN publius will be as insignificant as the democrat underground liberal nutcase blog.

I wonder if Eric Black is going to go and give you a hard time for another unfair attack! Shows you were right and Eric was wrong!!!!

Hopefully, MDE will post the press release from Senator Jungbauer (sp?) over Governor Tim (D-Mn) and his backdoor tax increases.
Knowing how he is just a mouthpiece for Da Gov…I would bet NOT.
November 15th, 2007 at 4:29 pm
D there are a lot of liberal Democrat websites will do that if they thought these taxes were a horrible idea. The fact that the governor had an opponent in the primary that got a lot of folks should’ve been a message to the man.

“Shows you were right and Eric was wrong!!!!”
Not only was Eric Black wrong, he’s a flaming hypocrite also. He has used a picture of Michelle Bachmann embracing President Bush in an article that he had posted. The only purpose of this picture was to embarrass Michelle Bachmann. It had absolutely nothing to do with the content of his post.
Michael’s Bonoff video, although very embarrassing, also served to point out her gross inadequacy as a candidate for federal office.
Black is a Hack.

I’d be upset if I were her. Being on video would force her to choose between her leftwing liberal self and the moderate she pretends to be. Tough call.
November 15th, 2007 at 4:40 pm
Bonoff is light-weight, who arrived at her seat, courtesy of Education MN. She is only a candidate due to her lack of record, now she will have a hard time even gaining nomination due to her lack of knowledge/experience/readiness. I was glad that Hortmann got run out of the race by 3rd DFL, because she would have be a much, much tougher DFL opponent than Bonoff. The DCCC is going to have to work overtime to pre-package Bonoff with no risks to keep her from shooting herself in the foot. There will be more candidates, I wouldn’t be surprised if Hortmann reconsiders after the railroad job she got.

Michael,
If you get a chance to talk to Black again, ask him why he chose the pictures for this article, if not solely to embarrass Bachmann?

Either Hortman or Simon would be better than Bonoff. If Bonoff’s opponent is wise, he will get that video onto the blogosphere ASAP.
November 15th, 2007 at 6:23 pm
Are you kidding me? If you ever want to see a REAL meltdown, just try to bring a camera to a Hortman event. What a temper on that woman!
November 15th, 2007 at 6:35 pm
Awesome! This just gets better and better. Everything I’ve heard about her is playing out ALREADY!
November 15th, 2007 at 7:10 pm
To hell with Bonhoff. The dummy isn’t suitable for dog catcher.
November 15th, 2007 at 8:21 pm
If someone would tape or video all of Bonhoff’s town hall meetings, speeches etc., I’d lend them my Sen. Dean Johnson digital recorder.
November 16th, 2007 at 6:39 am
Theres no way you guys will ever see that tape. The democrats won’t get negative like that. This is just a typical republican personal attack. No one wants to discuss the issues or Terri’s ideas.

Is this the woman who wants to be our “next State Representative”?
Wait until the debates – all those cameras and people recording things. She’ll freak out.
OK Supermommn, besides taxing us out of house and home, what are Bonoff’s “ideas”? And please, no phrases like “the common good”, “consensus building”, “carry on the legacy of Paul Wellstone”, “invest in our future”.
Specifically, what are her ideas?
November 16th, 2007 at 8:29 am
someone has to go tape her at a public event now. if bonoff gets flustered, who knows what she’ll say! who has some free time and a camcorder?
November 16th, 2007 at 8:39 am
What I don’t here is talk about Paulson? Last time I heard that guy speak it sounded like he was still living in his parent’s basement and a master at playing Dungeons and Dragons. He came off as very young, inexperienced and flat out dorky.
Let’s not kid ourselves people, neither leading candidate does too well in front of the cameras.

HA HA HA!
Cry, baby. Come on, let me hear you cryyyyy!
what a wuss.
I wish Pat Buchanan were there to smack her upside the head and say, “knock it off, light weight”.
November 16th, 2007 at 9:35 am
That fracktard AAA leaked the information to Publius about Ryan Griffin, what an asshat!!!
November 16th, 2007 at 9:50 am
gopgal: Where’s the proof? Please?
November 16th, 2007 at 10:24 am
The proof is in himself. He is his own worst enemy when it comes to this stuff.
Fracktard finally got the clue that no one in this party wants him around!
November 16th, 2007 at 10:34 am
Hey Newton (Issac you are not), she is running to be a U.S. Representative. She is already a state Senator (twice the number of constituents of state representative).
The video was by the Madia campaign. They are doing what everyone does, studying the opponent. She is weak and they are just doing their homework. The princess can’t take it. Boo-hoo.
Paulson is not to be overlooked. Granted his position on social issues should knock him out against anyone one of the DFLers but, he did spend years as the District Director over there for Ramsted. He clearly knows the district and people. Its just a matter of time on how long it’ll be before he’s running from his words and record as a State Rep.
AAA is a Fracktard and gopgal is a man.
November 16th, 2007 at 11:11 am
gopgal: With such logic, it is no wonder why Republicans are in the minority. I guess, anytime you disagree with leadership…you are a fracktard.
Now I know why the Minnesota GOP dropped the “I” from the “IR”…no more independence…no more open debate…just march to the tune of the Leader.

DJZ
I’m aware of that she is running for Congress.
But why then did Bonoff say she wants to be our next “State Representative”?
November 16th, 2007 at 12:38 pm
Newton,
You ever hear of getting the ‘jitters’?
Why did George Bush ask, “is our children learning”?
November 16th, 2007 at 1:23 pm
Yes, DJZ…except Bush’s verbal gafs are used to portray him as a bungler and a ig-a-met by the lefty-kook-koolaid-drinkers.
…so is Bonoff.
November 16th, 2007 at 1:30 pm
DJZ
I’m not a big fan of GW, so this is a half-hearted comeback: And Bush still beat Kerry.
By the way, the “jitters” caused you to misspell Paulsen’s name.
November 16th, 2007 at 2:42 pm
Newton that tells you right there he isn’t going to win! sen over son? He’s toast!
November 16th, 2007 at 4:38 pm

[...] I sent a polite e-mail to Andrea Wiley, a representative of the SD 45 DFL, regarding reports of a "meltdown" by State Senator Terri Bonoff at a DFL event last week. In response to my polite e-mail, I received a three-word response: "Go to hell." [...]
