WHAT ARE THEY HIDING? DFL PASSWORD PROTECTS PREVIOUSLY PUBLIC BLOG, THREATENS LEGAL ACTION AGAINST VIOLATORS

By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 11, 2007

I was updating my blogroll today by removing links to defunct blogs, when I decided to visit the official blog of the DFL, DFLers.org. I was surprised to read a threatening message on the front page.

DFLers.org was previously a public blog, published with great frequency during the 2006 elections. But DFLers.org is now password protected, open only to DFL activists:

"The new blog is more focused on providing tools and resources to DFL activists as they do their work across the state. For that reason, this is now a password protected site where you can get the latest DFL news, talking points, and what's going on in the field."

Oooh…top secret talking points. Since the DFL has decided to go into bunker mode by password protecting their previously public blog, I'll be removing my link to DFLers.org.

My guess is they took the site dark to prevent Mark Ritchie from hacking in to their database of e-mail addresses and sending solicitations from his office computer.

    Is that guy fired yet?

My guess is that they wanted to cut down on the number of visits by Star Tribune personnel. Where will the DFL lapdogs get their info now?

I didn’t know Denny Green was working for the DFL!

“Willie Plett” is the best handle ever used on MDE.

My dad took me to North Star games at Metropolitan Sports Center (corrected 12/12/2007) and I remember seeing him play.

    Nice work “Willie.”

Melendez is assigning the dumpster divers. Jeff Fecke is fighting MNObserver to be the lead stalker of Draz. Someone says they wish Eva was back in the DFL.

If it’s a non-profit status political operation it’s operation should be public record. Outside of strictly person information anything there that could be construed as “political”. A “mole should be able to get in there easily. It’s appropriate to restrict, moderate or not allow outside comments on a website but the material generated by a political website should be public.

I recall that Rudy Boschitchz (sp) was strongly criticised when he claimed that his “not jesish enough” letter about Wellstone was only intended for jewish constuents. Same criteria applies here.

Could this website now be a “terrorist website” disseminating information on how to illegally dirupt the upcoming Republican Convention. Hard to tell when it is “gated”.

I promise only to bring slashing/glove dropping comments to the hard-hittng Web site that is MDE!

C’mon Mde, get it right. It was called Metropolitan Sports Center, then shortened in 1982 (I believe) as the Met Center!

I still have a deep hatred for Norm Green to this day!

Its our site- stay the hell out! You can’t go anything online or a public event by the Republicans without being vetted.
