MORE DETAILS EMERGE ON PFEILSTICKER’S ARREST FOR DRUNK DRIVING
By Michael B. Brodkorb | December 27, 2007
"Pfeilsticker, 36, was driving on Minnesota Highway 60 at Skyline Drive on Dec. 9 when she drove off the road and into a ditch. She was returning from the 40th birthday party of a friend and had been drinking.
The deputy who responded to the accident smelled alcohol on her breath and arrested her after she failed a field sobriety test, authorities say. Pfeilsticker's blood-alcohol level was tested at 0.17, more than twice the legal limit. She was booked and released. It was her first such incident, authorities say.
Her first court appearance is set for Jan. 7. She has been charged with fourth-degree DUI, a crime punishable by up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. Given that it is her first violation, Pfeilsticker probably won't face jail time, authorities say." Source: Rochester Post-Bulletin, December 27, 2007

"Linda Pfeilsticker, a candidate for the state House of Representatives, had a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit when she was charged with misdemeanor drunken driving earlier this month, police said.
A Wabasha County sheriff’s deputy reported finding Pfeilsticker's car early Dec. 9 stuck in the ditch on Highway 60 within Wabasha city limits near her home. The deputy said the 36-year-old Pfeilsticker appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. Her blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.17 percent about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 9, said Wabasha County Sheriff Rodney Bartsch." Source: Winona Daily News, December 27, 2007

Wow, she beat Metzen!
December 27th, 2007 at 1:31 pm
Well she’s not endorsed yet… I would wager large amounts of money that she will not be the candidate come November…

hmm…
i’m noticing a trend here with the hippies. drink drink drink…and then nothing happens.

Your calling Metzen a hippie?

Did that beat Rukavina (sp) on his DWI??
It really should be re named as “DDWI”!
DemocRat drunk while driving.

I’m not sure why, but this reminds me of Phyllis Kahn, cockily going upon her merry way without skipping a beat after being busted in an embarrassing incident of her own making.
What is it about dem women that makes them so arrogant and condescending? Bitchy, cocky, snotty (Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, etc. etc. etc.).
Sick of them all…

Hey! the worst she should admit to is impersonating a Kennedy!

Well, at least she wasn’t getting lit up on the tax payer’s dime. That is slightly better. Huh?

This raises a good question. Is there a code of ethics for aspiring or elected legislators? If so, what are the boundaries. If not, why all the hubbub about a rural social studies teacher cocktailing and then dirving a motor vehicle? Do we really think that .17 is in fact breaking the law?
And furthermore, is DWI really that big of a deal or are we all just over-reacting because we are wound too tightly and hyper-partisan, taking any shot we can at the other side?
Would we be as exercised if she was a he, or non-caucasian, or Baha’i?

Ever hear of Michelle Bachmann or Coulter? If those nuts are bitchy, arrogant and condescending I don’t know who is!

When push comes to shove I’d take a drunk anyday over a wifebeater

Drew,
You are correct, DWI is really not that big of a deal. Just ask the 200+ people killed annually in alcohol related deaths in MN, 16,000+ nationally…. Or the 34,000 people arrested for DWI annually in MN.
People should focus on more important things.
December 28th, 2007 at 10:14 am
Damn liberals!!! Will defend their own no matter what the wrong they do is.
Drew, you obviously have never had a loved one killed by a drunk driver or you would not be saying is it really a big deal or that .17 is hardly illegal. What a fucking moron who turns a blind eye to a very big problem. Too bad she could not have killed a few liberals while out driving drunk, maybe, just maybe then other liberals might take an issue with this.
Tubby your comment shows just how morally bankrupt your party truely is.
I used to say the DFL = Dirty Filthy Liars.
Maybe now it is Drunk Filthy Liars?

BK- I was being fecetious to make a point. I’ve lost more loved ones than I care to think about to drunk driving and I spend a great deal of my off hours working with chronic alcoholics who are trying to get their lives together. Driving while intoxicated is an act of sheer stupidity and blatant arrogant disregard for the welfare of others. It’s a symptom of magical thinking, a chuck-it attitude, a sense of being special, the illusion that the laws of nature do not apply.
Linda Pfeilsticker responding that she will remain a candidate, and DFL loyalists subsequently standing up for her nincompoopism is every bit as (if not more) agregious as the GOP distraction in 16B. There are events that should cause immediate term limits. This is one of them.
But we don’t require that level of integrity from our leaders. That’s part of the reason we are so screwed up.

Tubby Jones,
Who is the wife beater? Are you talking about Mark Olson or something?
December 28th, 2007 at 11:26 am
A drunkard and a wife beater are on the same page. Necessary for termination.
Here’s to hoping Piffie (as I like to call her) ends up getting thrashed for it.
December 28th, 2007 at 12:37 pm
And, just to clarify for Tubby the Boob:
Mark Olsen was ejected from the GOP caucus within a week or two of his arrest. Also, removing an elected rep from a seat is next to impossible. As it was made clear to Olson…he should have resigned. He didn’t. The GOP did everything to get him out, which is more than anyone can say for Metzen or Tommy the Commie.
