BREAKING NEWS: COMPLAINT FILED AGAINST ENTENZA THINK TANK; GOP LEGISLATOR CLAIMS GROUP NEEDED TO REGISTER AS LOBBYISTS
By Michael B. Brodkorb | January 7, 2008
Representative Tom Emmer has filed a complaint with the Minnesota Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure Board alleging that progressive think tank Minnesota 2020 and its designated agents should be registered as lobbying entities. Click here to read the complaint filed by Emmer against Minnesota 2020.
The complaint specifically mentions the activities of Minnesota 2020 board chairman and founder Matt Entenza and Minnesota 2020 fellow Conrad de Fiebre.

Say, Michael?
In your estimation, how long does a complaint like this take to get resolved?
January 7th, 2008 at 10:18 am
The board will probably call a special meeting to deal with this one. A couple of weeks, maybe a month.

Matt Entenza is not a name you can trust.

Look up the word “slimy” in the dictionary and you’ll see a photo of Matt Entenza. They don’t come any more slippery than he.

MB and Emmer are brave in taking on Entenza.
Just as Rush talks on his radio program about “Clinton Inc.”, here in Minnesota, we have “Entenza Inc.” Entenza and his sugar-momma wife (with money from the big HMO UnitedHealth Care) have long memories, sharp knives and ample funds to deal with their enemies.

Big HMO is a bad thing unless you benefit from it I guess.
Liberals are always the biggest hypocrits.

Emmer files a complaint against a DFLer? Shocking!
Next you’re going to tell me that Ron Carey, known for his thoughtfulness and refusal to rush to judgment, has held a press conference demanding Entenza resign from…well…something.

Emmer is nothing but a GOP goon, he’ll file any compliant his party bosses tell him too. Take a look at his legislation and you will realize the guy needs help.

I heard this Emmer on KTLK radio a week or so back. He makes a lot of sense.
Digby, I tried to do some research from the 2007 session, even tho I’m not very politically astute. What specifically bothers you about this guy? If calling out a democrat is a sign that he “needs help”, I would respectfully disagree with your assessment.

Emmer is not only one of the smarter guys in the House, he is funny and fun to be around as well. A really nice guy. He is fun to watch on floor debates too.
Your typical lib will often times try to destroy the character of people like Emmer. Such bright and personable people get them really nervous. Might mess up their ongoing brainwashing operation. Either that or they are just insecure. They proclaim somebody “needs help” and that means that they themselves are OK in the realm of rational thinking. They somehow have to counter rational thought by trying to discredit it. They have to propagandize theirselves. It’s sad really.

Tooputt, when I filed a complaint against the Saint Paul School district for having used district funds to pay “Progressive Minnesota” (a leftist PAC) for it’s help with political hackery during one of…lost count…excess levy referendums, and to pay for donations by district employees to a PM fundraiser it took about a month to get a ruling that forced PM to give the money back.
Hope that helps.

When ever Matt Entenema is involved, you can bet the farm that *nothing* is on the up and up. Fer chrissakes..the guy even craps on his Democrat peers!
I will not be surprised in the least if this investigation will uncovers plenty more slimeball tactics.

My my. Tom Emmer sure is fun to be around. If you subscribe to his regular e-mailings you’ll find he spends 99% of his time attacking his opponents and 1% actually proposing constructive legislation. Come on, Minnesotans don’t need this behavior from either party and there are plenty of his ilk on both sides. He is nothing but a hack lawyer from Delano with a big mouth. Look at some of the legislation he’s proposed, for example allowing pharmacists to not fill your legal prescription if they have any moral opposition to the drugs your doctor prescribed. We need to get rid of this guy! Let him practice his “great sense of humor” at a local coffee shop in Delano. Let’s get him out of the Capitol.

Say, S. Joseph?
Are you suggesting Emmer is one o’ them consistently inconsistent republiCons? One that would let a pharmacist refuse to dispense a legal prescription, but would fire a cabby for refusing to haul a legal product (liquor)?
Is that what you’re suggesting?

[...] I hope no one ever makes the mistake of taking Rep. Emmer’s complaints seriously ever again. [...]
