COLEMAN CAMPAIGN RELEASES STATEMENT ON FRANKEN TV AD
By Michael B. Brodkorb | January 14, 2008
This statement is from Cullen Sheehan, Campaign Manager for U.S. Senator Norm Coleman's campaign:
"Al Franken probably was a nice boy when he was in 4th grade in Minnesota. But, in the 30 years he has been gone from Minnesota he went from being a cute 4th grader to an angry comedian who has made millions of dollars insulting people’s religion, taunting people who don’t agree with him and failing to offer any positive vision for the future.”
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed tomorrow morning for analysis on Team Franken's ads.

Is this the same guy that writes press briefs for Carey? Al has a lifetime worth of material and all Cullen can do is this?
This guy makes Seifert look good, which is very pathetic.

Al isn’t the only Minnesotan “angry” about the direction the country in headed. 71% of Americans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, and Norm has had a front row seat on the “no change” Bush bus for the last 5+ years. Try as you might, at the end of the day it will be Norm’s ” stand and spend with Bush” record in the senate that the people of Minnesota will base their vote upon.
I saw the ads, no anger in them, just Minnesotans who want change.
That’ll do Sheep, that’ll do

We saw the change the DFL was trying to implement with the largest tax increase in Minnesota history. Thank God we had a governor who stopped them.
I don’t think communism/socialism is a change that America or Minnesotans want, but keep dreaming HC.

For whatever it’s worth, and this is purely from a personal perspective, I have met Al Franken on several occasions, and he seems like a very nice guy. He also has an excellent sense of humor.

Hiram, me too, only each time Al has gotten very angry!
It seems if you agree with him, he is nice and all smiles, if you hold a different view and can show the error in his view, he gets very, very angry.
I believe there is more than one video showing him get all upset and angry.
Angry Al is as Angry Al does.

HCDFL:
Lovely recitation of the standard DFL tripe. If you want to talk about polls and this “wrong direction” thing, let’s look at the polls that show us who the People think are responsible for the “wrong direction”.
The DemocRAT led Congress has the lowest approval numbers IN HISTORY. They are 10 points lower that even the President. So if you want to know why we’re going in the “wrong direction”, its because of Dirty Harry and Miss America in the House.
Oh, and are you idiots (ie DFL sheepeople) going to trot out that Bush-clone thing again? Coleman makes me screaming mad over his blocking of ANWAR and a number of other issues. In the DFL purist world, unless you vote 100% against Bush you are a lemming, huh?
Hey, how about we talk about Lil Amy? Her voting record with Harry Reid is about 95%. I’m sure all you “independent” thinkers in the DFL don’t have a problem with Nevada having a third senator. Lil Lapdog Amy sure fits the bill!

If the GOP wants “Angry Al” to be Al’s moniker, then “Naughty Norm” should be Norm’s.
Norm makes Giuliani look like an amatuer.

Say, Cluck?
I prefer:
Norm “Smokescreeen” Coleman, R=Lapdog

Its Slander-A-Senator time!!!!
I’ll take “Baseless Allegations” for $600, Alex.
“Minnesota Senator, smeared with baseless allegations of extra-marital affairs, while being married to a knock-out wife”

Hey, TwoPutz…at least I haven’t heard the phrase “I did not inhale” from Coleman. Of course, the same non-inhaler left enough stains on the Oval Office rug, huh? But if Coleman needs lessons in being a cheating-worm-of-a-husband…I’m sure Hillbilly Bill can help him out.
January 15th, 2008 at 10:02 am
Say, D?
Well, I’ll be damned.
And here I thought ol’ Smokescreen got his cheating lessons from that widestanced toe-tapper, Larry Craig…..

To Mr. Tax Increase, The deficit that Pawlenty plugged was passed on to the cities and counties who in turn raised your taxes. Why does Pawlenty use inflation adjustments for revenue, but not for expenses when forecasting the state budget? Why have corporate taxes fallen as a percentage of overall budget over the past fifteen years? You are a pawn of corporate america. Big Business thanks you for your support.
January 15th, 2008 at 10:25 am
Well, TwoPutz, at least his boyfriend wasn’t running a boy-brothel out of his house’s basement?
Besides, you liberals are supposed to be supporting deviant sexual behavior, ain’t ya? Seems you guys should be crowning Craig the Prince and marching him around Washington…which you guys normally do.

SI:
Oh, so now we’re back to blaming the State for LOCAL PROPERTY TAX INCREASES?
Listen, bubby…rule #1 of LGA is: Its never enough. Locals will always whine, and raise taxes. Here’s the good part: You want all the spending in your town? YOU PAY FOR IT. Pretty simple.
#2: For most cities, they wouldn’t see a SINGLE PENNY under the 2007 proposal. Probably never again. So what we have is, over-tax some cities via their income taxes to REDISTRIBUTE money to other cities who CAN’T STOP SPENDING.
#3 Why, exactly, don’t you hold your LOCAL governments responsible for their lustful spending habits FIRST? And you can un-elect them a WHOLE lot easier (and faster).
Oh, wait, I just realized that you DFL cretins are from Minneapolis…St. Paul…Mankato…St. Cloud…Duluth…and they are the cities who guzzle the LGA the most. And these are also DFL cities. What a shock…DFLers, soaking Republican areas to redistribute money to their DFL crony areas! Amazing!
January 15th, 2008 at 11:11 am
D,
They are not baseless. It is such a shame too, since Norm’s wife is knock-out. But hey he has his girlfriends and she has her boyfriends. She lives on the West coast he lives on the East coast. Every six years they get together for a family reunion they call a campaign.
January 15th, 2008 at 12:09 pm
Wow, CluckKing No-mind. You sure must be some authority on relationships. How you can leap from West/East coast to Norm is cheating on his wife is amazing.
Evidence? Nope. Just lies from libs like you.
By the way, if Mrs. Coleman happens to live in Minnesota and Norm’s in Washington so much…what’s the diff if she’s in Malibu instead?
Using your crystal ball…how about we call Lil AmyK a slut and say she’s been plugged more times by more men in DC than a kitchen sink? Sounds good to me. I wonder how she can walk straight.
Same evidence. None. But it sure sounds logical to me.

“…how about we call…”

What??!?
Are you trying to claim you AREN’T??!?
Of course, when you’re desperately trying to deflect and distract from guys like Gannon/Guckert, Mark “What’s Your IM Name, Little Page?” Foley, Larry “I Got A Widestance!” Craig, etc etc etc, it’s easy to forget what you are doing, isn’t it?
January 15th, 2008 at 1:05 pm
Well let’s see Normy’s wife did indeed live on the West Coast, maybe she is back in town now, it is election season… or maybe she’s back in town plugging her “Blo & Go”
I have personally seen Norm at parties without his wife touching ladies inappropriately. I have heard countless stories of him hitting on women and even giving one his personal number.
Norm may win this election, but he will have a hard time doing in proclaiming “Family Values”.
January 15th, 2008 at 2:11 pm
Whoa kay, lets see if I can summarize in one run–on sentence here.
Making fun of Al is off limits because Norm cheats on his wife, the evidence is that she isn’t always on his arm, which causes lefties to have no understanding of tax structure and to mindlessly repeat meaningless platitudes and buzz phrases.
I think that about does it.
I hate to defend Al here but seriously; can’t we be intellectually honest enough to separate his past satire from his politics? It’s not like his politics aren’t a target rich environment, is it?
January 15th, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Man, the point is you cannot do political satire unless you really, Really, REALLY understand the issues.
The only reason Stewart is funny on the Daily Show, is because he knows the issues.
And I find it funny that GOPers get all huffy and in a snit, like when Larry David made the “balls” joke, when Gov. Pawlenty told a really, Really, REALLY funny “balls” joke at the opening of The Quarry Golf Course at Giant’s Ridge.
Way too often, GOPers condemn for what they routinely do themselves.
Like rippin’ Al for droping a (Cheney) bomb, but giving Cheney a pass for when Cheney dropped the (cheney) bomb.
GOPers have taken hypocrisy to a new low, and this site demonstrates that day after Day after DAY.

What cities are over taxed at the state level?
What is wasteful spending?
A bridge?
A road?
A snow plow?
A water treatment plant?
The police force?
The Fire department?
Parks for our children to play in?
The basic winger understanding of the tax structure is that any tax is a bad tax, and if my taxes have to increase to help pay for statewide or local improvements, we don’t need them.
Oh ya, and we’ll let our children worry about the need for statewide or local improvements and how to pay for them when they become adults. Thanks Mom and Dad

Ok, HCDFL moron…feel free to explain what the Fiscal Disparities program is and how it works. I know…you don’t.
I also happen to know more about how LGA works. And how’s about you explain HACA.
And, did I ever say we should get RID of LGA? Nope. All your liberal DFL-controlled cities saw increases (that would be, for you DFL idiots in terms you can understand: MORE MONEY) in LGA. Just…not enough for their OVER SPENDING tastes. And LGA comes from…INCOME TAXES!
So, people’s income taxes are redistributed to allow DFL cities to spend..spend..spend. And because many cities now get NO LGA…they have to scrape by and raise taxes, so the DFL cities don’t have to.
Ya see…I know how the system you liberals invented works. And how its one step short of socialism.
January 18th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
It’s a good thing that us liberals are spreading the wealth around, because without it. Outstate Minnesota wouldn’t have schools, roads, hospitals or an internet connection to post on blogs
