BREAKING NEWS: CIRESI BREAKS WORD ON SELF-FUNDING CAMPAIGN, DONATES OVER $500,000

By Michael B. Brodkorb | January 31, 2008

According to press reports, Mike Ciresi has donated $516,000 to his U.S. Senate campaign:

"Washington (AP) — DFL Senate hopeful Mike Ciresi donated about a half-million dollars to his campaign, but was still out-raised by rival Al Franken in the last reporting period.

Ciresi, a wealthy trial lawyer, donated $516,000 to his campaign in the fourth quarter of last year. That accounts for more than half of the $813,000 Ciresi raised, according to his campaign finance report." Source: Associated Press, January 31, 2008

Click here for the complete story.

Ciresi told the Associated Press in February 2007 that he wouldn't self-fund his campaign:

"WASHINGTON (AP) _ Attorney Mike Ciresi, who put nearly $5 million of his own money into his 2000 U.S. Senate race, said Monday he wasn't planning to self-fund again in his 2008 bid. 'No, we'll raise the money,' Ciresi said in a telephone interview. 'I think it's a better way to go.'" Source: Associated Press, February 12, 2007

I wrote over three weeks ago that Ciresi breaking his pledge to self-fund was a possibility. Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

I don’t see a lie. He wasn’t planning on self-funding and by saying it that way, it leaves it open to him doing it.

‘No, we’ll raise the money,’ I don’t know, I still think No means No. Don’t your Andy? I mean really? Or did you go to the same school as Bill Clinton?

    Say, Punky?

I think Clinton and Eden Prairie Mayor Phil Young went to the same school; Mayor Maybe doesn’t quite understand the meaning of the word “help”.

    Or maybe Mayor Maybe does.

Ya just gotta wonder ’bout them attorneys, doncha?

It’s clear he never pledge anything MDE.

Good for Ciresi for shelling out the cash, it shows he is serious about winning this nomination and has the ability to compete with Coleman in the general.

He still has frineds in Hatch’s office , er I mean Swanson’s office to help him get big goverment cases should he have his bank account go under 250 million. :)

Little Pudd, I really don’t care about what your mayor is doing as it has nothing to do with this topic. Why are you try to deflect the conversation from Ciresi’s lie? Ciresi is slime as far as I’m concerned. Some one who got very wealthy on the backs of smokers. What a slug…

Punky, you’re the one that brought up The Slickster, as a tangent.

    Oh, I forgot – you’re one o’ them “Do as I say – not as I do” republiCons….

Ciresi took a huge risk with taking up the Tobacco case and his firm worked hard and won.
I don’t think he has to apologize for anything.

If anything Pawlenty should be thanking him, since he cleaned out the tobacco fund of a billion dollars to balance the state budget.

Oh yeah, Pawlenty’s also the one that raised the cig tax, I mean fee. Funny how that works Pete :)

Ya know, Tad, doncha love it how these bootlickers like to call folk LIAR!!!, until THEIR liars are pointed out?

On July 26th, 2006, in a story about how republiCons were stinkin’ up the local races in Eden Prairie, the last line in the story says, and I quote:

“While the (GOP) party has endorsed Young, he said the party would not be helping him recruit volunteers or raise money for his campaign.”

    ROFLMAO!!!

I had a letter to the editor promptly printed, and again I quote:

Republicans, they weren’t helping him raise money or recruit volunteers even though the Republicans had a link on their homepage taking surfers to a website that raised money and recruited volunteers to defeat his opponent. It should be noted that after I compared Phil Young to Bill Clinton (“well, it depends upon what your definition of ‘help’ is”) the Republicans took that link down.

Now, in post numero dos, Punky brings up the ol’ Slickster deal, but then biotches when I point out Mayor Maybe’s little “well, depends…” moment.

These bootlickers are mighty (cheney)in’ predictable: they love to dish it, but whine when it’s tossed back at ‘em.

    Oops!

Here’s the whole quote, from that LTE the ol’ TwoPutter had published…

Republican Phil Young claimed that though he was endorsed by the Republicans, they weren’t helping him raise money or recruit volunteers even though the Republicans had a link on their homepage taking surfers to a website that raised money and recruited volunteers to defeat his opponent. It should be noted that after I compared Phil Young to Bill Clinton (“well, it depends upon what your definition of ‘help’ is”) the Republicans took that link down.

Wow, Oscar you have no ideal, what a puke.

  14. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    January 31st, 2008 at 4:27 PM

Well, Punky, I have other terms for Mayor Maybe than “puke”, but hey? Who am I to argue with that one?

And congratulations, Punky – ya finally got somethin’ right!!!

  15. HoleInOne Says:
    January 31st, 2008 at 5:56 PM

I knew it! Your admitting to being a fraud – Wow and to admit to it, toooo-Funny, thanks Oscar!

How do ya figure that one, Spanky?

  17. Pete Says:
    January 31st, 2008 at 6:52 PM

Little Pudd, just thought you should know you keep reusing the same Angry Al lines over and over again. Your getting boring, please try to come up with some orginal material.

  18. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    January 31st, 2008 at 11:45 PM

That’s almost funny, comin’ from a “Dittos, Jason!!’” kinda guy like you, Punky.

BTW – did ya figure out that it was you, in post numero dos, that went off subject and on a tangent?

    I thought not.

    Putz.

  19. Pete Says:
    February 1st, 2008 at 7:29 AM

Who is Jason? Wasn’t he a character in a slasher type movie? Little Pudd, I would say your losing it but how can you lose something you never had… Again, your material is getting old. Take the weekend and come up with some new stuff – something a little more orginal would be nice.

  20. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 1st, 2008 at 8:31 AM

    Punky, you never HAD “material.”

    Let alone anything “original”….

And since ya didn’t answer the question, Punky, I’ll ask it again:

    ***
BTW – did ya figure out that it was you, in post numero dos, that went off subject and on a tangent?

LOL, Little Pudd, Blah blah blah, nothing ever changes with you does it son?

  22. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 2nd, 2008 at 10:09 AM

    Say, Punky?

It’s easier for a bootlicker like you, to simply post: “Dittos, Jason!!!”

    Ya putz.

  23. Pete Says:
    February 2nd, 2008 at 3:00 PM

Sorry to see your having such a hard time coming up with new zingers little pudd. Your getting boring dude…

Still wearing that cheesy fishing hat there Tommy?

Don’t own a “cheesy fishing hat”, dogbreath.

  27. Pete Says:
    February 3rd, 2008 at 12:56 PM

Little Pudd, same old material I see. Your no longer getting boring, you are boring. Really man, take the weekend off and working on some new stuff, it can only help man.
