NARN “THE FINAL WORD†TODAY: PRECINCT CAUCUSES, GOP PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE DISCUSSION
By Michael Brodkorb | February 2, 2008

I'll be on the radio today for a two-hour program from 3-5 p.m. with King Banaian of SCSU Scholars on AM 1280 The Patriot. The entire show will be dedicated to a discussion about precinct caucuses.
King and I will be having representatives of the remaining GOP presidential campaigns (Huckabee, McCain, Paul and Romney) on the show to talk about their candidate and to answer questions from callers. If you're supporting one of the remaining GOP candidates, call into the program and tell us why. If you're undecided about who to support, make sure you listen to tomorrow's program.
Before you listen to King and me, make sure you listen to the first four hours of the Northern Alliance Radio Network. From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. you can hear Power Line's John Hinderaker and Chad and Brian from Fraters Libertas. Mitch Berg and Captain Ed are on the air from 1-3 pm.
I encourage you to all to listen. Broadcasts can be heard on AM 1280 The Patriot, which has an Internet stream for those outside the Twin Cities. Brave Democrats and proud Republicans can join the conversation at (651) 289-4488.
UPDATE: Below is a list of representatives of the GOP presidential campaigns that will be appearing on the program.
Peter Hong – Mike Huckabee
Ben Golnik – John McCain
Chris Tiedeman – Mitt Romney
Marianne Stebbins – Ron Paul
UPDATE #2: Gary Gross, a former supporter of Fred Thompson's campaign, called in at 4:30 p.m. to announce that he had switch his support to Mitt Romney. Another Thompson supporter, Drew Emmer, called in to offer his compliments for the discussion on the show. Emmer is currently undecided.
UPDATE #3: Zach Stephenson from MN Publius called in at 4:45 p.m. to talk about Senator Obama's rally at the Target Center.

I have to go driving some where. Can you ask Ben
how is John Mccain going to build the Republican party when on literally every single issue that Republicans care about he has taken positions like Hillary Clinton and the O. I mean he agrees with them on Global warming, gitmo, immigration, he didn’t embrace any plan to really reform social security. On how lot of issues I can’t tell the difference between John Mccain and your average liberal democrat

I asked Ben your question.

Can you ask John McCain campaign about these robocalls that he did in Florida? Will his campaign repeat these in Minnesota?
I’m calling with an urgent Mitt Romeny [unintelligible]
We care deeply about traditional values and protecting families. And we need someone who will not waver in the White House: Ending abortion, preserving the sanctity of marriage, stopping the trash on the airwaves and attempts to ban God from every corner of society. These issues are core to our being.
Mitt Romney thinks he can fool us. He supported abortion on demand, even allowed a law mandating taxpayer-funding for abortion. He says he changed his mind, but he still hasn’t changed the law. He told gay organizers in Massachusetts he would be a stronger advocate for special rights than even Ted Kennedy. Now, it’s something different.
Unfortunately, on issue after issue Mitt Romney has treated social issues voters as fools, thinking we won’t catch on. Sorry, Mitt, we know you aren’t trustworthy on the most important issue and you aren’t a conservative
Paid for by John McCain 2008.

Could you ask the rep for Sen. McCain, and Sen. Paul why I should vote for any one that has been a part of the problem for so long that they can’t even see they are part of the problem anymore? Special the Sen. Paul rep and his claim to be a constitanalist . Our Government was supposed to be part time office and you then return to your home not spending year after year in office

The McCain representative kind of had a sexy voice. MDE, could you verify for us whether or not he is single?

Sorry to break your heart Steph, but Ben Golnik is happily married.

In the end, it was pretty straightforward.

Say, Gary?
You do realize, doncha, that them good southern white boys your party needs to win a national election, is NOT gonna vote for a cultist, doncha?
link here: http://www.sbc.net/
enter “cults” in the search feature….
The second on the list is a .pdf that talks about cults.
Personally, I think that’s disgusting; that folk won’t vote for a fellow American because of religion. After all, doesn’t the Constitution state there shall be no religious test?
But I find it amusing, that the party of intolerance – the GOP – would nominate a candidate it’s most important geographical region (the south) won’t vote for, due to religious intolerance.

Little Pudd, What the heck you talking about? Don’t forget that the no religious test refers to what the goverment does, not to how the people will vote. You idiot…

[...] The podcast of Saturday's show is now available at Townhall.com. King and I spoke with representatives of the remaining GOP presidential campaigns (Huckabee, McCain, Paul and Romney) about their candidate and took questions from callers. If you're undecided about who to support at tomorrow's precinct caucuses, I'd encourage you to listen to the program to help you decided. [...]

Punky, I’ll type slower, just for you.
SOUTHERN REDNECKS (i.e., ‘southern republicans’) ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR A CULTIST, ENMASS.
And that religious test, Punky? Remind me which candidate, from which party, had to recently give a speech about his religion, would ya Punky?
“Those that forget the lessons of history, tend to vote republiCon.”

little pudd, Why do you feel that any of the candidates are in a cult? That seems very closed minded, even for a Demoncrat like you.
