GOP PRESIDENTIAL GOTV ACTIVITIES: UPDATES THROUGHTOUT THE DAY, OPEN THREAD

By Michael B. Brodkorb | February 5, 2008

5:05 p.m.: I just spoke with Peter Hong, who is a volunteer spokesman for Mike Huckabee's campaign in Minnesota. Hong said that Huckabee's campaign feels good about winning West Virginia, the first contest of Super Tuesday.  While Huckabee's campaign has no paid presence in Minnesota, Hong said Huckaebee will have a strong showing tonight in Minnesota and across the country.

2:26 p.m.: I'm now at McCain's presidential headquarters in Minnesota.  This place is buzzing with volunteer activity as everybody is on the phone making or receiving phone calls. McCain's campaign has no paid Minnesota staff, but I can report that they do have a strong Minnesota volunteer base. McCain's campaign will be having their election night activities at O'Gara's in St. Paul starting at 8:00 p.m.  McCain's folks in Minnesota are feeling very good about today's elections.

2:10 p.m.: I visited Romney's Minnesota headquarters in Oakdale.  Romney's campaign is making both paid and volunteer phone calls.  Romney's Minnesota director Ryan Griffin told me that close to 50,000 GOTV calls have been made in the last few days. No Minnesota delegates will be awarded tonight, but I'd expect Romney's campaign to have a strong showing in tonight's GOP presidential preference ballot.

10:40 a.m.: I'm undecided in the presidential race and I will likely cast my preference ballot for "uncommitted" tonight when I attend my precinct caucus.  Since I'm undecided, I've decided to spend some time checking in with the GOTV activities for the remaining GOP presidential campaigns.

I spoke with Ben Golnik (and I stopped by McCain's Minnesota HQ yesterday) this morning who is coordinating John McCain's activities in Minnesota.  Golnik sounded very busy on the phone (which is a good sign if you're supporting McCain) and said "thousands" of pieces of McCain campaign materials have been sent to Minnesotans in the last few days week. I'll check in with Golnik later today and report back what I hear on Minnesota Democrats Exposed.

I'm heading over to Mitt Romney's Minnesota headquarters. Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more updates on precinct caucuses and feel free to leave a comment on this post about what you're hearing about Super Tuesday.

###

Remember, King and I will be on the radio tomorrow night on AM 1280 The Patriot discussing the election results. Brave Democrats and proud Republicans can join the conversation at (651) 289-4488 to discuss Minnesota's precinct caucuses.

Anyone paying attention to the lobbyist turned Congressional Candidate in the 6th?

Seems some people are taking him to task for his undisclosed lobby work.

    http://zaetsch.blogspot.com/2008/01/initiating-official-inquiry-into-elwyn.html

Larry Schumacher at the SC Times hit it up yesterday too, complete with a lame response by…John Wodele!

    http://65.36.138.212/publicus/blog/read.asp?BlogID=6&ID=8739

“Tinklenberg spokesman John Wodele got back to me Monday and said he considers the accusation to be not a legitimate news story, since he said the US Attorney’s office has rejected the letter’s request.”

    Wodele lied!

    Developers are Crabgrass Responds:

    http://zaetsch.blogspot.com/2008/02/larry-schumacher-mentions-tinklenberg.html

The letter has been forwarded to proper authorities.

How desperate are Democrats to actually consider endorsing this guy? Seriously?

Today is just gonna be another day that democrats open up a big ol’ can o’ Whup Ass and beat republiCons like a cheap drum.

In all the different areas republiCons are gettin’ their asses kicked – and good! – today, I just saw this:

House GOP campaign group investigates possible fraud

    Associated Press

    Last update: February 1, 2008 – 1:50 PM

WASHINGTON – The House Republicans’ campaign arm may be a victim of fraud by a former employee, and it has asked law enforcement officials to investigate “irregularities in our financial audit process.”

The National Republican Congressional Committee, which recruits candidates and raises money for House elections, said in a statement Friday that it learned of the irregularities earlier this week.

Imagine that – republiCons and “fraud” in the same story…..ya gotta love that the party that inflicted, er, ‘scuse me, bought us, er, ‘scuse me, “brought us” Abramoff, etc etc etc, gets ripped off by a fraud, itself.

McCain can kiss my ass. Romney is the only semi-decent conservative left. I want a national primary – I’m tired of this 5 month shit where we have to stop at ever state and find out what the retards think.

Hey Little Pudd, you have failed to keep up. Today is not an election, not a choice between the evil ones (Democrats) and Republicans. Devilcrats are only kicking their own ass (lucky they have lots of that… big ones too!). You are failing man. You really need to stop smoking that crap. Who knows, once you stop you might acutally see the world as it really is and join the Republicans! Good luck dude!

  7. Swiftee Says:

Don’t be to hard on 2pud, Pete.

He’s been hit in the face with more balls than Fancy Ray, and all that hammering has rattled loose the remaining half a brain he’s sporting.

But he can still shine one hell of a shoe!

  9. Pete Says:

Swiftee, I was wondering how an idiot like pudd boy made a living…

  10. TwoPuttTommy Says:

    Say, Punky?

You live a good life; save, invest – who knows? A few decades later, maybe you’ll achieve a life like mine!

But, I doubt it – you’re bettin’ on some o’ them “No Bid” contracts your “Party Of Personal Responsibility” is so famous for….

Eat yer heart out, pal: ’cause it sucks to be you!!!!

  12. Pete Says:

You got to kick the habit little pudding butt! Your smoking way to much dope (I guess that’s why they call liberals dopes) and keep drifting out of reality dude. You really should check yourself in, once you sober up you’ll finally understand…

  13. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 8:49 AM

Say, Punky? I’ll paraphase it, just for you:

” It is morning, Punky, and I am sober. You, however, still belong to the party of LOSERS.”

And you know WHY your party is the party of LOSERS, Punky?

    Well, I’ll tell you!!!

It’s because losers like you caused GOP to now stand for:

    GreedOverPrinciples

  14. Pete Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 9:12 AM

little pudding butt. Remember, those chemicals can take many days to leave your system. You may think your sober but it will take many days if not weeks in detox for you to get better. I believe there is a need for an intervention here. Please give me your family contacts so I can work with them on this. Thanks little pudding butt…

  15. Big Kahuna Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 10:42 AM

littlepudd, I hope you went to caucus for Hillary or you threw away your vote. ;) This democrat nomination has been bought and paid for by the Clinton machine.

Care to make a bet twopudd? I say it will be Hiltlery and maybe Osama, er I mean Obama will get a VP spot if he plays nice with the queen.

I say it will be hiltlery and if I am right, you never post here again, if I am wrong I never post here again?

Up for it tough guy? ;)

  16. Pete Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 11:17 AM

pudding butt wouldn’t honor the bet anyway. He has no honor.

  17. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 1:38 PM

    Say, little stones?

I think it’ll be HRC that gets the nomination, too.

Say, punky? Those are pretty strong words – then again, as a ChickenHawk, you’re used to typing strong words.

    Ya putz.

  18. Pete Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 2:36 PM

Hey pudding butt, how do you know if I’m a “chickenhawk” or not? I’ve never commented on this war or any other war. Your smoking that weed again aren’t you? By the way, US Army, 1972-1975.

  19. Honeydog Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 4:41 PM

Pete, anybody who doesn’t agree with him is a chickenhawk. I think I’ll have to call the EP Veteran’s Memorial and let them know my group will be withdrawing support because one of the board members insists on calling other veterans chickenhawks, and that is unacceptable.

  20. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:18 PM

Go ahead, dogbreath. Ask ‘em for the minutes, too.

How embarrassed will you be, when you read those minutes, and find out I’m not an active member?

But I’m not surprised you’d put politics ahead of a veterans memorial, dogbreath – after all, you’re a republiCon, and veterans ALWAYS take a back seat to politics, for a republiCon.

    You have no honor, dogbreath.

    NONE.

  21. Honeydog Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:24 PM

No moron, I’m putting your insulting other veterans in the forefront. You are listed on the website as one of committee members. ANd what I just wrote to them is that people are considering withdrawing support because you insist on calling other veterans chickenhawks when they don’t subscribe your radical political views. It’s you who is putting the politics first.

Again, you are transfering your heinous traits onto others. You are the one who has no honor.

  22. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:27 PM

By the way, US Army, 1972-1975.

    Thank you for your service.

  23. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:29 PM

ANd what I just wrote to them is that people are considering withdrawing support because you insist on calling other veterans chickenhawks…

I insist on calling ChickenHawks, “ChickenHawks”, dogbreath.

Do try to keep up, won’t you?

  24. Honeydog Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:35 PM

Well, people who served in the Military aren’t chickenhawks.

You however Jodi, were a REMF.

  25. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:39 PM

Did you serve in the military, dogbreath?

And if you claim yes, how will you prove it?

I served – go look on the Membership Wall at Hopkins VFW Post 425, and you will find my name.

    I doubt yours is there.

  26. Honeydog Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 5:44 PM

Yep, I served, and I can prove it with my DD214 and my VA Medical Card.

Nope, I don’t belong to the Hopkins VFW.

You might have served Tommy, but you were still a REMF.

  27. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 6:29 PM

dogbreath, there were no REMFs where I served.

You, of course, are wrong again.

    It’s a habit with you.

So, when do you want to meet, and inspect DD-214 forms, dogbreath?

  28. Honeydog Says:
    February 6th, 2008 at 6:35 PM

Yep, you were a REMF. You were in the rear with the gear and diddling the LBFMs.

Can I bring my Marine hubby and his DD214 too? Not that I’d be worried about a fat old man like you.

  29. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 7:50 AM

Sure you can bring your marine. He can lick my jump boots, too.

  30. Big Kahuna Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 9:15 AM

Since some of you seem to know who twopudd really is, can you share that with me? :)

  31. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 12:36 PM

It’s not that hard to figure out, little stones.

But I’m not surprised you’d ask someone to do your dirty work for you – that’s the kind of guy you are.

You have no honor, little stones.

    NONE.

  32. Big Kahuna Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 1:32 PM

Honor, what has that to do with what twopudd. ;)

Give it up then big fella, I am anxious to find out more.

I have a strong feeling some of your claims are a bit far fetched. Could be fun.

  33. Honeydog Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 5:09 PM

The marine was recon and he is jump qualified, which is more than I can say for you. My bet is that being the REMF you are, you’d be a no show.

Big Kahuna, his real name is Tommy Johnson, and he owns a second rate golf shop.

  34. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 7:20 PM

My bet is that being the REMF you are, you’d be a no show.

How much do you want to lose, dogbreath?

  35. Honeydog Says:
    February 7th, 2008 at 7:32 PM

LOL, well I was right, but in a different sort of way. You are purposely picking a time you know I’d be at work. EIther that, or you’re just too stupid to figure out that I never post during the day because I’m a work.
