turn out is out of this world. Tried to go to Eden Prairie caucus and turned around. All spots within a mile and a half (includeing the EP high school parking lot, the community center parking lot and two parks) were taken. When I left at 7:10 there was still a mile back up in three different directions trying to get in.

Huge turnout in south Minneapolis for the GOP caucus; I think it probably was a record. At least four folks were spotted wearing T-shirts that say

I WAS SLOW-ROLLED BY THE PAWLENTY ADMINISTRATION
      AND ALL I GOT WAS THIS LOUSY T-SHIRT . . .

and the resolution to direct the Governor to follow the reciprocity requirements of Minn. Stat. 624.714 passed unanimously in 8-8; I don’t yet know about the other wards.

In Madison MN we had excellent turnout. Plus 4 Democrats came to support McCain. It was interesting watching them. One of them was discussing her plan with a friend of my sons (my sone was standing there). When she saw him walk in with me tonight her jaw dropped. My son turns 18 this April and will be able to vote of the first time. He is a solid Republican who has helped every year putting up signs, doing lit drops, and being in parades. It’s fun being able to do this stuff with my son.

Woodbury GOP caucus was wall too wall, large numbers of young voters, in the mix, great turnout!

Very impressive turnout for the GOP in 39A tonight.

Off the subject, I was watching Ch5 news and they were featuring the insights of former Gov. Arne Carlson (RINO, MN) who outed himself when, after excitedly recapping the big state wins for Hillary (SHREW, NY), blurted out “And the polls in California close in eight minutes….here we come!”

Arne would make a great keynote speaker for the Dumpocraps in Colorado this year.

Why did McCain do so poorly when Pawlenty has told all of us who to caucus for?

Tonight I went to vote at the Brooklyn Center precinct in Minnesota. What was disturbing is:

      1. There was no registered voter check
      2. There was no check on your name and address nor was ID required to cast a vote
      3. It was easy to go from room to room and cast multiple votes - it was pure chaos
      4. Paper votes were used since they ran out of ballots ( we had to vote on pieces of paper - writing our candidate name down )
      5. The ballot boxes were not secure they were open and anyone could stuff the box or take out ballots
      6. There was no visible caucus members to ask for assistance
      7. Voter volunteers were stressed and not sure of the processes

What kind of country do we live in when there is no checks and balances to ensure the voting tonight was fair and even valid? I’ve reported this issue to the DFL in Minnesota (of course that was before I just read online that the DFL doesn’t support ID checks!). They had hoped I was still there and could scout out if there was actually any voter fraud going on. Whether I saw any or not - there was a huge number of people there - the circumstances surrounding the process of voting was just wrong and certainly shakes my faith in the fairness and the transparency of the process.

      Robert,

I don’t know if you were talking about the GOP or DFL having these problems. Assuming you were referring to the GOP, nothing in state law requires you to be registered to vote to participate in a caucus. Caucuses are mostly governed by party rules. In the Republican party, you only have to be 18 by the Nov. election and be a Republican living in the precinct to participate in caucuses. Moreover, the balloting that took place tonight was merely a “straw poll” meaning it doesn’t count towards electing delegates. Our system certainly drove people out tonight, I wonder if the numbers would have been larger if we were a primary state like California or New York and the votes actually mattered.

“Tried to go to Eden Prairie caucus and turned around.”

Shoulda gotten there early, like I did. DFL side o’ the high school was packed, so at 6:45 I walked past the gym, and looked down at the (few) lemmings in the lunchroom.

It’s gonna be one serious can o’ whup-ass opened on the republiCons this November….

In Olmsted County, DFLers numbered 4,691 people well more than the 1,380 who attended Precient Caucuses than in 2004, the last presidential election.

Olmsted County Republicans also reported big numbers. A little more than 2,000 people attended GOP caucuses, more than twice as many people as attended in 2004.

The percentage gaps between Democrats and Republicans in Olmsted County has indeed closed since 2000. Democrats continue to outnumber Republicans when it comes to caucuses. Even 2006 Caucuses showed a 2 to 1 ratio.

Little Pudd, I bet you can’t wait until your old enough to vote too! Did you like the high school? Remember if you do well now someday you too will get to go to school there, but first you need to get out of those “special classes”. Good luck!

      Say, Punky?

It’s rightwingnuts like you, that helped turn out FOUR THOUSAND DFLers, compared to the one thousand GOPers, in Eden Prairie.

The electorate is sick and tired of rightwingnuts like you, dogbreath, NotSoSwiftly, - well, the electorate is sick and tired of All Michael’s Children.

Congratulations, pal - you and All Michael’s Children caused the GOPers to get kicked FOUR to one, in EDEN PRAIRIE.

pudding butt, I’m pretty sure you will disappear in November when you party gets their asses handed to them. You see, people are actually tired of rude little children like you. Now go see your mommy and get your new pull-up on so you won’t miss the school bus son.

twopudd, most who went out for the democRats went to support Osama, er I mean Obama. :) Only the problem there is that the old guard democRats had already promised Hillary the spot. :)

Lot’s of reports coming in about democrat caucus folks not able to cast a vote. Why I believe we have a conspiracy going on in the democrat party. It seems most citizens want Osama, er I mean Obama but since the Clinton machine already paid for this, they expect Hillary to get the nod.
What will happen now though is Hitlery will offer the VP spot to Osama, er I mean Obama. :)

Yep, twopudd, A LOT od DFL’ers went out last night to show who they want for the presidential nominee, problem is, it is all just for show. It will be Hillary and there is nothing any democRat caucus goer could do about it.

You will vote for Clinton whether you like it or not. :)

I wonder if Zack will want to Paaaaarty if the best Osama, er I mean Obama can do is get the VP spot?

    18. DJZ Says:
      February 6th, 2008 at 11:41 am

      Robert,
The GOP doesn’t check ID’s either. At the DFL, we have a sign in sheet and if you voted before, your name is pre-printed and you sign-in. If not, you sign another sheet and it will be checked.

Caucuses are a party function. They run them, determine the delegate formula and decided what’s legit and what’s not.

Hey twoputt, since any body, even a republican, can go vote in the Democratic caucus, did it ever enter your puny hate filled mind that repubicans were in there to vote for the person they felt would most likely lose to the Republican candidate? Oh, that’s right, you’re a liberal, you don’t know how to think logically or rationally.

    22. TwoPuttTommy Says:

It blew away your assertion, so I don’t need to do better. BY the way, you’re still a REMF.

    24. HCDFL Says:
      February 7th, 2008 at 7:11 am

      Honeydog;
I sat with my neighbors and yes some were former GOP voters who want to change the course, not stay the course.
Where I live you don’t look your neighbors in the face and lie to them.
Was “lying to your neighbors” 101 part of the MNGOP caucus training?
      Norm is toast in November
      That’ll do Sheeple, that’ll do

That would be his “jump Boots”. ;)

Guess we have yet another fat old guy who holds onto his memories of his military days. ;)

Guess he has not done much with his life since 1975. :)

Sure as hell did not keep up on his military mind set of keeping fit. One can only guess he never did add up to much.

    28. Honeydog Says:
      February 7th, 2008 at 4:50 pm

Yep, changing the course isn’t necessarily bad. And in this case, the means getting rid of all the tax you to death democrats, and making sure Hitlery doesn’t get in there.

And Lying 101 definately is part of the SOP for Demoncrats.

Twoputt, how do you know I’m not jump qualified? Hmmmmmmmm? LOL, but we know you aren’t you were a REMF.

And Pete, if you are referring to me as the little fella, sorry, my feeling aren’t hurt at all. You see, I do this thing called WORK and I don’t steal from my employer by playing on the internet while I should be working.
