The gas tax is a diminishing source of revenue. THe DFL should know this, they're the ones trying to get everyone to stop using their cars. That's astonishingly foolhardy. Paying off multi-billion infrastructure projects over several years rather than all at once is fiscally responsible.

Ever bought a house with straight up with cash?

Didn't think so.

My goodness, the Republican bill is completely paid for by borrowing more money. Completely and totally irresponsible! Our credit card is completely maxed out already. Where is the consistent source of revenue needed to keep the transportation projects going? The Republican plan offers absolutely none. Astonishingly foolhardy.

Okay let me get this straight.

The DFL proposes 6.7 Billion in tax increases to increase transport spending by 7.7 Billion. The House Republicans without raising taxes can get 7.6 Billion. Shouldn't the DFL be proposing another 5.7 billion? Where is that 5.7 billion going? Welfare? Education? Health Care? Per Diem payments?
