PRELIMINARY ROLL CALL VOTE ON DFL TRANSPORTATION PLAN SHOWS SOME DEMOCRATS NERVOUS ABOUT SIZE OF TAX INCREASES
By Michael B. Brodkorb | February 20, 2008
In a brilliant display of parliamentary procedure, Representative Marty Seifert requested a roll call vote on the majority report for HF 2800, which is the DFL transportation plan. All Republicans who were available to vote on Wednesday afternoon, voted against the majority report. According to dedicated readers of Minnesota Democrats Exposed, some Democrats in the chamber didn't vote for the majority report.
My sources at the state capitol say that many freshman Democrats in the House of Representatives are nervous about the size of the tax increases contained in the DFL's transportation plan.
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed tomorrow for more information on this specific vote.

I saw two funny headlines this morning that I think make sense here (especially if democrats continue on this path):
California exodus turns to stampede; High taxes drive jobs, people to other states
And
Budget analyst: California may have to raise taxes; Gap too big to close by cutting spending – urges closing tax loopholes
