Why will Senator Limmer’s leadership be needed tomorrow at the Capitol? The DFL has a super-majority in the Senate.

Congrats! Jeff won the seat and in the process may have lost a spot on the county board for republicans. Johnson in his stupendious idiocy talked about privatizing HCMC effectively pissing off every lobbyist and employee in the one foul swoop. Johnson’s people stacked the event with resources from his Legislative auditor campaign and took the seat of the person most qualified (Limmer). Now we are in a position with a less qualified candidate, less motivated, with a worse record in contested elections. The D’s have already started looking for candidates and they will put at least 100 grand to fight him (since these statements about the hospital were made). Not even 5 minutes in the front runner spot and he screws up ROYALLY. And don’t kid yourself, despite the fact that this is a very republican district, we can still loose. Its a weird election year, the dems have way more money(and they’re pissed), and there is no party affiliation listed on the ballot. At this point the best thing for real conservatives to do would be find an independant conservative to run because Johnson may already be done! But thanks to all those who showed up to screw over Limmer and the rest of hennepin county. I guess the endorsement of commissioner Steele and Michelle Bauchman for limmer and a 30 year history of “Getting things done†wasn’t enough to overcome this coo. What a ridiculous circus this party has become.

“pissing off every lobbyist and employee in the one foul swoop. ”
Yeh, it sucks when you piss off lobbyists and government employees.

Im not saying they are good. Im saying he has brought them together in a fight against himself. Thats stupid on its face. If you think this was a good idea why dont you ask Jeff Johnson if hes glad he made that statement. I can garauntee you the answer is no. It makes him look stupid. (dont get to mad about my comments. I know hes not stupid, I think Johnson is a good conservative. Hes just not the best man for the job and has already handicapped himself)

John,
I’ll ask him about it. I also know he’s not stupid.

John, your absolutely graceless spewing of wretch only illustrates your frustration that your candidate lost. The Republican Party has been a circus ever since they adapted altruistic moral views associated with christianity and tried to combine them with the conservative values of capitalism several decades ago. Johnson is a fine candidate and Limmer serves a vital role in the senate anyway so we didn’t lose much.

Its not a spewing wretch its simply what happened. If you disagree thats fine. Im just saying “WE” conservatives now have to worry about loosing a seat that was a lock before saturday. And if you want to get into whats gracelss. Maybe you could address why Jeffs people were stealing Limmers literature off of delegate tables Saturday. Again something that Im sure embarrased Jeff Johnson, but nonetheless came from his support core. And relax, Im backing jeff now. Im just saying he put himself in a bad spot and isnt the best we could have done

I’d hate to see what you’d write if you opposed him.

John–you referenced Limmer’s record of getting things done? What has he accomplished? His actions, and his actions alone, delayed the Maple Grove hospital. He has accomplished nothing else in the legislature.

Limmer is a show horse.
Johnson is a work horse.
February 26th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
I guess your right. He’s never accomplished anything. He never helped fight taxe hikes. He never voted for ocnservative social values. He never authored the 2007-2008 Biennium Regular Session Status Reports, He never worked on the the tax committee fighting for refunds. He never pushed for radical changes to Criminal justice and public education. He never authored legislation for safer schools, or economic development in his district. Heck he may not have even really won those 9 elections that make his name recognizable. All he ever did was delay the hospital in maple grove, nothing else. He’s just a showhorse (whatever thats supposed to mean) Truth is, I dont know how he delayed the maple grove hospital or why, feel free to educate me. I will say to talk as if Limmer never did anything of value belitles one of our most reliable senators ever. If the Johnson supporters really believed he is so worthless they wouldnt have campaigned on Warrens necessity to stay in his senate seat.
