MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “REPUBLICAN PARTY OF MINNESOTA UNVEILS NEW TELEVISION AD, ‘STOP DFL’†#2
By Michael Brodkorb | March 3, 2008
This is the new ad released by the Republican Party of Minnesota about the DFL’s $6.6 billion in new tax increases. This is great ad.

Same old shit…
I hope the state party spends millions on this one, since it will not chance anyone’s opinion. If this is all the Carey braintrust can produce, no wonder GOP seats keep dropping like flies…

Like I said, let ‘em raise the taxes. Raise them through the fucking roof. Come November, not a single Democrat will be left holding elected office anywhere on the state level… well, except for those tied to the People’s Republics of Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The MNGOP has got to tie the raising of taxes to the pork and pet projects in the DFL bonding bill.
Minnesotans need to understand that their paying higher taxes so the DFL can build more bike paths and polar bear encounters.

Jason Lewis said today that if the “RINOs” who voted with the DFL weren’t defeated in primaries or in an endorsement fight, that his listeners in those districts should vote DFL. After all, Lewis reasoned, they are going to vote with the DFL anyway, so why not have a real democrat.

Do you have a point?

We need to tie this into the the Taxapalooza YouTube video. Especially heading into election year. That Crazy song is still catchy. And very descriptive. And it’s very telling.
Eva’s point is that she still thinks Republicans take marching orders offered by radio hosts. We have all been brainwashed by Rush, Hannity and Mr. Right. I disagree. The only way libs can rationalize their lunacy is to say the other side is brainwashed.
I still think that a big reason we got stuck with the largest tax increase in history is because of last election season’s “protest” by conservatives staying home. My guess is that they are the most outraged at the passage of the bill too. You get what you vote for. You also get what you get when you decide not to vote. A non-vote is a vote for a Democrat. And you have no right to bitch about what they do when they are elected. Get out and vote this year. And if it comes down to a soft Republican vs. a Dem, vote for the Republican anyways please.

PAW-lenty CLAWS are coming to a theater near You-Tube.
Brodkorb states, “This is a great ad” however, the phrase “This is a ‘GRATE’ ad” could also be in order.
Rip. Tear. Lacerate.
“Paw-Claws” are no Santa Claus for Minnesotans!

Another case to enforce the borders…
March 3rd, 2008 at 11:03 PM
In the ad it seems to me that I heard [and watched] Pawlenty say:
“Yesterday the DFL uh caucuses in Minnesota took a bucket of tax increases and dumped it on the heads of Minnesotans.”
Even though the disclaimer says, in part, “Not authorized by any candidate or any candidate’s committee,”
Right is RIGHT, doubtfully may have a [vague] partial point. Longer-time readers of MDE may have seen the borders of intellectual laziness come creeping in.

El Presidente, I will commend you on speaking English. Even when you don’t make much sense doing it.

No pienso que usted me ha oido hablar. Sin embargo, puedo entender [su significado].
I don’t think that you have heard me “speak.” However, I am able to understand [your significance].
Even when you could make more sense writing it!

The imagery used in this commercial is all wrong and is very off-putting. The old gas pump, the old television with the governor on it and family in the old-style photo frame. It indicates a party out of touch with the modern world and its problems. Its like the American version on the Taliban trying to drag us back to the 50′s with the old-fashioned “read my lips, no new taxes” mantra. I guess GOP really does stand for “Grumpy Old People.”
March 4th, 2008 at 6:41 AM
Hey Bob,
Not all of us are limousine liberals with flat panel TVs, digital photo frames, and who don’t pump our own gas.
Sorry if reality doesn’t square with your fantasy life. Here’s a tip: You want to pay more taxes? Send check or money order to the Minnesota Department of Revenue. Jackass.

Sheeple;
The voters of Minnesota spoke loud and clear in 2006 that they wanted safe roads and bridges, parks, bike trails, the arts and yes a new home for the gorillas at Como Zoo
You guys are the minority in Minnesota and that is the way the voters want it.
That’ll do Sheeple that’ll do
March 4th, 2008 at 8:27 AM
Hey Chestnut,
Keep pumping your ignorant stereotypes there buddy… you probably even buy into Bush’s that he’s just a simple Texas rancher… or that he is a fiscal conservative!
March 4th, 2008 at 8:56 AM
HCDFL, the voters said no such thing in 2006, largely, because none of those issues were on the public slate in 2006 (especially the goddam gorilla cage).
Democrats lied to Minnesotans that they’d be fiscally responsible. That’s the only thing that happened in 2006.
Duneraker,
Huh?
March 4th, 2008 at 9:40 AM
Say, Chestnut?
Spakin’ o’ liars, how’s Erik Paulsen’s campaign goin’?
March 4th, 2008 at 9:52 AM
Little early for you to be drinking isn’t it?
March 4th, 2008 at 10:00 AM
[...] I have been reading with great amusement the DFL's claims that they can find no record of the GOP's new TV ad running against them. The DFL are actively peddling a false story line to the press that the ad is not running. That's funny because I have already seen the ad running on television this morning. [...]

I have read Chestnuts tip(s) and will share some information of my own.
The flat panel or not, the digital HD TV technology will require a special addition to a “20th century TV.”
In most cases, “electricity” runs the pumps, that pump the gas for you. You more or less push the buttons, and squeeze the levers.
I’ll concede the point on digital photo frames, however, I think that you should recognize that you are using email and that the Republican Party of MN is using You Tube. JackRabbit!
