OBAMA’S MINNESOTA CO-CHAIR & DULUTH MAYOR ADMITS CAMPAIGN FINANCE MISTAKE
By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 3, 2008
"A News Tribune examination of political action committee contributions to Duluth candidates showed three instances in which PACs gave Mayor Don Ness more than the $300 maximum allowed.
The News Tribune also rechecked Ness's campaign contributions report and found three instances where three individuals gave more than the $300 maximum.
While each instance is a potential campaign finance violation, Ness said in an e-mail that he either didn't know about the payments or sent them back when he got the checks, calling the overpayments 'an honest mistake made during a very hectic month.'" Source: Duluth News Tribune, February 29, 2008

Remember when John McCain’s national co-chair T-Paw broke a bunch of campaign finance laws and paid a record fine?
Yeah. Pot…meet kettle.

The Duluth News Tribune article was published on LEAP DAY, February 29, 2008.
Michael B. Brodkorb stated (3-2-08): “Since I started blogging on July 23, 2004 I’ve read idiotic posts from liberal bloggers attacking Republicans. But, today, Zack from MN Publius published the most asinine attack on a Republican that he has ever read.”
The party’s official website calendar didn’t include LEAP DAY. Zack’s headline was “Republican’s Don’t Believe in Leap Year.”
The Duluth Mayor admits campaign finance mistake(s).
I haven’t looked closely at the official calendar however, if true, I’m sure that the Republican Party can admit to a calendar mistake(s).
Zack [later] stated his blogging was a joke.
Senor Brodkorb’s citing of a Duluth News Tribune article published on LEAP DAY, was a way of quietly making his point.
