MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “ON NEARLY THREE YEAR FAILURE TO PAY WORKERS’ COMP, FRANKEN’S STORY STILL DOESN’T ADD UP”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 13, 2008
"Al Franken has made a career out of calling others liars but his story about his nearly three year failure to pay workers' comp is simply a lie. Franken claims he knew nothing about his failure to pay worker's compensation premiums for three years. Franken claims he knew nothing about a slew of notices asking him to pay his premiums and nothing about repeated efforts to get him to pay his $25,000 fine. Now we find out that Franken voted in two New York elections at a time when he claims he was living in Minneapolis. With his complete failure to provide honest answers about his law breaking, Franken only continues to destroy his credibility with Minnesotans." – Ron Carey, Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman
