MADIA SPOKESMAN SAYS BONOFF HEADQUARTERS “MUST FEEL LIKE THE TITANIC”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | March 27, 2008

“DFLers in the 3rd Congressional District this week received a flier questioning the DFL soul of Ashwin Madia, who day by day comes closer to winning the party’s endorsement to run against Republican Erik Paulsen for the seat being vacated by Jim Ramstad. In the flier, it’s noted that Madia was a supporter of John McCain for President in 2000 and Bob Dole in 1996. Madia, 30,  doesn’t deny he is a used-to-be-moderate Republican. But he says he’s become true blue, leaving the GOP for good in 2002. As a Marine officer, he voted for John Kerry in 2004 and worked on many DFL campaigns in 2006.

Said Madia spokesman Chris Truscott of the Bonoff flier: ‘Bonoff headquarters must feel like the Titanic with the band playing until the very end. Sad.’” Source: MinnPost, March 26, 2008

Are you going to wait until after Madia wins the endorsement to start your hatchet job on him? That is what you’ll do, won’t you.

  2. Michael B. Brodkorb Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 10:36 AM

    WildBlue: Are you supporting Bonoff?

  3. WildBlue Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 10:39 AM

    I’ll support the endorsed candidate.

  4. Michael B. Brodkorb Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 10:46 AM

    Who are you supporting now?

  5. WildBlue Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 10:54 AM

They are both strong candidates. I’ll support the candidate the Convention endorses. With Eric Paulsen’s super-conservative stances, I’m just happy to have two candidates who will be able to beat him.

When are you going to start the hatchet job? You got started early on Bonoff.

  6. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:02 AM

    Say, WildBlue?

Did you hear Paulsen claim he’s a moderate republican, in the model of Frenzel and Ramstad??!?

  7. Big Kahuna Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:10 AM

Madia will be fun if he wins as he is a wolf in sheeps clothing. ;) Just what I had hoped would start to happen which is moderate conservatives going in under the democRat tent and start to upset their wagon that way as they did with folks like Ramstad and the now famous trader 6. :)

Bonoff is a flaming liberal who has been proven ineffective and a bit of a screeching whiner as of late.

Ramstad is gone because he knew he was going to have a hard time getting the Republican nod when the fool has voted with Pelosi on almost every issue. Conservatives like the idea of Ramstad going away. :)

I have talked with Madia, I think the left has been fooled, the guy is no liberal by any means. :)

  8. West Metro Dem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:23 AM

    Big Kahuna,

Madia is a moderate. That’s what many in the DFL are in actuality. Social moderates and fiscally responsible. It’s your modern Dem party.

Madia will be a great congressman.

  9. WildBlue Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:34 AM

    Two Putt,
Yeah I heard that. What a laugher! He even is using a logo that looks like Ramstad’s. How stupid does he think voters are?

  10. D Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:37 AM

This just in: A dog grooming/training shop just opened directly next to Bonoff’s campaign HQ on Hwy 12.

    Insert your own jokes here.

  11. Big Kahuna Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:47 AM

West Metro who do you think you are kidding! :)

The current democRat party has become the home of leftist liberals!! Fashist liberals at that who do whatever they can to keep any opposition quiet as well.

Madia is far more conservative than any democRat posters here for sure! I know for a fact he is far more conservative than you will be comfortable with.

Funny, social moderate and fiscally conservative, no such beast exists. ;) How can you be for social welfare programs and claim to be fiscally conservative?

Once again the liberals prove how they just do not live in the same reality the rest of the world does.

  12. In the Know Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:47 AM

    Mr/Ms West Metro Dem:

The DFL just gave us the largest tax increase in modren history. I also read in the paper that they are breaking the state debt limit with their bonding bill to pay for things like $11 million for a gorilla exhibit and a quarter million for a sheet music museum in Chatfield! As Marty Seifert once said, the DFL treats the suburbs as an ATM machine for DFL pork projects.

  13. southwestdem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:48 AM

I am not too worried about Paulsen. He lost the party majority in the House on his watch so I don’t think the GOP is over the moon for him. In fact, they won’t even endorse in that race until their convention. They could have, and he certainly has had to wait a long time to be endorsed.

I think if anybody better had stepped up Paulsen would be yesterday’s news.

He is also so worried about his house seat that he asked SD42 to hold a second mini endorsing convention after the CD convention instead of endorsing at their regular SD convention.

Ashwin Madia is going to be a great Congressman! And you republicans will like him even if you can’t admit it to anyone!

  14. Big Kahuna Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:51 AM

Have you actually talked with the man WildBlue? I am very seriously thinking of voting for him as he is a conservative at heart and I feel he is just taking the DFL train to get into office and will not be just another leftist pushing pork programs as most in that party currently do now.

Reminds me of Norm a bit that way. :)

  15. southwestdem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 11:57 AM

I have very conservative parents who are voting a straight Democratit ticket this November because you republicans have destroyed any sense of fiscal disipline.

And my older brother, a radical conservative, is now voting for Democrats because he turned 62 and wants his share of those social welfare programs.

Honestly, I never thought I would se the day when my ultra-conservative family decided that the party who takes better care of the country is the Democratic Party!

AS for that bonding bill, things are being struck off of it left and right so that it can get passed. Keep watching. I certainly have been!

  16. southwestdem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 12:01 PM

And Big Kahuna, the top 3 senators pushing the pork have been Republicans! One being Ted Stevens, who has the very real chance of losing his seat to a Democrat for the first time in years!

I am not forgiving the Dems who waste our money (and a few have), but the reality is for the last 10 to 15 years it has been the republicans who have been very fiscally irresponsible.

  17. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 12:07 PM

    Let’s see Madia is for

    Raising taxes on all Americans

    and

    Legalizing Gay Marriage

doesn’t sound like a moderate to me.

  18. D Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 12:37 PM

    SW dem:

If your brother is over 60, I can only assume your parents are over 80 (or dead, which doesn’t exclude DemocRATS from voting…just ask the Dem Machine in Chicago). Hopefully, you’ve taken their car keys from them because they seem to be quite senile.

As for your brother, the reason the GOP lost its way is because they governed like DFL-lite. Your brother fits the perfect mold: Gimme my goodies, even if you lose your soul.

  19. el presidente Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 12:37 PM

A sheet music museum. Some musicians now use digital-type music.

  20. southwestdem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 12:52 PM

My parents are very much alive. They watch C-Span every morning, read multiple newspapers on a regular basis, and are up to date on all of the issues of the day. Oh- and they don’t live in Chicago.

My radical brother would tell you that he is a member of the Vietnam War generation, and if our government tries to take away social security from his generation- the generation that has lost everything to outsourcing, Enron and he could go on for hours like this-that this country has not seen protests like the ones that will happen the first month they don’t get their checks in the mail. My brother doesn’t care about his soul anymore. And he really left the republicans in 2004 because Bush did not deliver on his promises.

My parents are not senile, but your Mother wears Army Boots.

  21. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 1:13 PM

Master of None – why do you believe the only people that should pitch in during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, are the military and their families?

Surely, if you feel these wars are essential to security, you think everyone needs to sacrifice and pitch in, doncha?

Well, bein’ of the GreedOverPrinciples party, you probably don’t.

But, Captain Madia believes we ALL need to sacrifice a little. So, yes – he just might believe that we need to pay for these wars, now, and for the care our veterans are going to need, later, with tax increases.

You, presumably, would rather put the tab on plasic.

  22. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 1:22 PM

    Speaking of wars,

Madia wants to keep US troops in Iraq on combat missions with no time table for withdrawal.

I wonder if all those netroot types he’s raised money from know that.

  23. West Metro Dem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 1:39 PM

Yep. It’s called a responsible withdrawal. Just like Clinton and Obama.

  24. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 1:41 PM

No, he said he’d leave troops there with no mention of when he would withdraw them.

  25. southwestdem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 2:03 PM

Yes, to support a measured withdrawal and to protect our Embassy.

How can you possibly disagree with that?

Or would you rather see helecopters on rooftops and a massive ethnic cleansing?

And you still do not address how you think we should all be sharing in the sacrifice or paying for these wars.

  26. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 2:10 PM

Yes, to support a measured withdrawal and to protect our Embassy.

And to continue combat operations against Al Qaida. (do you want to see the quote?)

He wants to continue combat operations indefinetly.

Hey, I agree with him, but I’m not sure all of his supporters would agree with that bit.

“And you still do not address…” I don’t answer Two-bits stupid questions.

  27. West Metro Dem Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 2:23 PM

    MON,

Many Dems agree with him. They don’t see precipitous withdrawal as logical. We have to recognize the mess that is there and deal with it. You can’t please all the people all the time and Ashwin has proven that he can stand up for his position whether or not the Kucinich Dems support it or not. He makes sense and people don’t have to agree – just understand.

  28. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 2:55 PM

Jackoff, er, ‘scuse me, “Jack of”, it’s not that you “won’t”; it’s that you “can’t.”

Do try to keep up, won’t you?

  29. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 3:04 PM

    Back to your bottle two-bit

  30. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 3:10 PM

    Go with that, j.o.

  31. Master of None Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 3:19 PM

I know you will (hint: try the lite beer)

  32. Big Kahuna Says:

Puddles, did he get under your skin again and once again you resort to your personal attack sissy fat old man keyboard worrior routine. ;)

Poor guy, must suck going through life not only wrong on everything you believe, but not even able to make an arguement for what you believe. Makes one wonder why you believe what you do when clearly you can never defend or explain it.

You are a very sad excuse for a man puddles.

How about that bet about old Norm Coleman who you seem so sure is going to lose this November. ;)
It is very easy to point out what a sissy you really are. You can come here drop your attacks and run off into the shadows before someone calls you on it.

Well man up puddles! Let’s put or right to post here on the line. My guess is more lame excuses as to why you cannot back up the shit you post.

go lay by your dish boy

  33. TwoPuttTommy Says:

Nice try, Typical Frightened Rightwingnut Guy!

If that was really little stones, there woulda been many more ;-0 and some gratitious four-letter-words tossed in, too.

If you’re gonna make fun of little stones, ya gotta be more authentic, Typical Frightened Rightwingnut Guy!!!

  34. Big Kahuna Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 4:44 PM

Still afraid to take the bet little puddles? ;)

I know, it would effect you your income as you must be paid to post here. ;)

Still, I say you are the biggest hypocrit here and sure can run your mouth but offer nothing to back it up.

Is your discharge even honorable? One must question that considering how you lie about everything else. That or I bet you were one of the guys who the others teased and put your dick in the dirt a few times maybe? Then again, I bet even as a young man you were someone who talks tough in the shadows and has never really been able to say what he wants directly to someones face.

So puddles, care to take the bet, or just admit you know Norm is going to win and now it sure looks like Hitlery is going to ruin any chances for a democrat in the white house. :)

  35. Michael B. Brodkorb Says:
    March 27th, 2008 at 4:50 PM

Folks: I know that I have e-mailed some of you offline about this, but do not refer to Senator Clinton as “Hitlery” or Senator Obama as Osama on Minnesota Democrats Exposed. These references are disgusting. This is your first and only warning.

  39. Pete Says:

  42. Big Kahuna Says:

puddles, it seems you just want to try and ignore the challenge I put forth for you. ;)

Guess you really are the coward I called you out to be. :)

  43. el presidente Says:

  44. el presidente Says:

    Big Kahuna,

Hmmmmm HUA LI’I I KA WAINA . . . too much singing in our 50th State [taken during the Spanish-American War].

Perhaps I am included in the mixture with other “indigenous” people.

Ahhh. . . the Islands [Nicollet & Harriet] of the Twin Cities call me!!!

  45. TwoPuttTommy Says:

And someday, you might even get a clue.

  46. Swiftee Says:
    March 28th, 2008 at 9:13 PM

We have a big mouth here who purports himself to be a wounded Vietnam Vet. No need to guess about anything.

It’s easy enough for me to ask next time I drop by VFW Post 425 for a couple of beers with some genuine VWV’s. They already *love* 2punk, they’ll *really* love this latest bit.

After all, what vet doesn’t appreciate a lefty scumbag who uses a phony “vet” status to trash the country?

I’ll let you know what I find out about our “war hero”, BK.

  47. Swiftee Says:
    March 28th, 2008 at 9:29 PM

BTW, here’s our hero wearing his “genuine” Vietnam boonie hat (I’m guessing he got it for free after buying his CIB and campaign ribbon at the gun show).

2punk’s the little squirt on the left.

  48. el presidente Says:
    March 28th, 2008 at 9:34 PM

PUPU A O EAW I KA NUKU E LAWE MAI AHE AI NA MAI NO

I think that perhaps TwoPuttTommy (TPT) and I have a few things in common, besides occasionally using UPPERCASE letters.

There are many inwardly wounded war veterans who mostly suffer in silence.

There is nothing phony about their veteran status.

  49. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    March 29th, 2008 at 6:22 AM

    NotSoSwiftly, you’re a liar.

    And a very sick man.

  50. Swiftee Says:
    March 29th, 2008 at 8:26 AM

    2punk – BRILLIANT!!!

el presidente; Nobody here suffering in silence my good man, just a Democrat goof making it up as he goes…pretty much boiler plate operations.

  51. el presidente Says:
    March 29th, 2008 at 12:49 PM

I don’t understand all of this writing about purchasing a Combat Infantry Badge, and the trash talk about the Hopkins VFW Post and the WWII uncles who are Veterans, doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.

It is as bad as Pat Robertson’s cover on his book the Cross and the Switchblade in which he was featured as a Marine officer with some sort of “combat” experience as I recall reading the jacket years ago.

Robertson was in and out of combat zones or hostile fire zones but I don’t think that he was a Marine with actual combat experience.

The same goes for most Veterans. There are many support personnel for the actual combat personnel.

However, veteran’s do suffer in silence. Sitting at a keyboard and letting go shock & awe type of technology, may be more horrifying upon relection, later in life.
