By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 7, 2008

Pawlenty again proves what real leadership is by making the tough choices Democrats would not.

    I agree.

The DFL is outraged about this. Weeping, hugging and sad faces everywhere at the capitol. You can’t say that they were not warned. Seifert told them when they voted on this.

Pawlenty did the right thing – good job!!

It really was a great political move on many levels. He has again caught them by surprise and leaves the Democrat base demoralized, Republicans energized, and Independents miffed at the tax bills and spending bills passed if you look at public polling.

Time for the 2008 Tax Cut Rally on the Capitol Steps. Recruit your friends, as it is more important than ever to rally for tax relief in St. Paul AND Minnesota on the Capitol steps, Noon, Saturday April 12th. SEE YOU ALL THERE!!

I wonder if the Hot Half-Dozen are invited.

PAW CLAWS slashed 70 million from the Central Corridor Light Rail. It seems to me that it means a serious decline of about 500 million in federal funding.

Mike Ciresi acquired 200 million per year by winning a settlement with Big Tobacco.

We don’t need the light rail, why waste our money. I see you are grasping for straws as the DFL continues to sink – Mike Ciresi? WTF, LOL

Perhaps the GOP could have a tax rally at the terminal of the Light Rail at the Mall of America. In that way you would not have a tax rally in a sanctuary city.

If an employer of undocumented aliens attends the tax rally (s)he may not have to answer questions about being undocumented.

Change the tax rally to the Mall of America – Light Rail terminal.

In The Know – tell us more about the crying and stuff.

There should be no crying because your pet project was cut. If you’re going to cry, go on The View…

Democrats could have avoided this by making the tough decisions themselves. But they couldnt so the governor had do. Lesson learned? Doubt it.

“PAW CLAWS slashed 70 million from the Central Corridor Light Rail. It seems to me that it means a serious decline of about 500 million in federal funding.”

GOOD! That’s $500 million in federal taxes that we don’t have to pay! And a billion more in Minnesota taxes, if that boondoggle went forward, as well has millions more every year to subsidize operation of that white elephant.

Tell you what: If you want Central Corridor, get together a consortium of high rollers, build the line and operate it at a profit. Surely there are investors waiting to jump on such a marvelous opportunity?

  14. TwoPuttTommy Says:

loris, the lesson learned is by cutting the Central Corridor, Pawlenty proves the GOP hates mass transit.

And that lesson will be retold time and time again.

Granted, that makes the Usual Suspects here mighty happy – but that’s not going to play well to the moderates.

But, the rightwingnuts don’t care; they’ve been busy tossin’ ‘em out of the Small Tent Party anyway….

Puddles, can you show me where the majority of MN folks who want or need the central corridor? ;) I think not.

Mass transit has been a huge area of waste for this state mainly pushed by the DFL here and it’s usual suspects in the unions.

We NEED roads and bridges built, no bus line or choo choo train will help the congestion we now have thanks to the DFL funneling money to transit every chance they get.

On the HWY 55 overpass on 494 there was a guy with a sign all last week saying “hate the traffic, blame the democRats!” :) Most motorists were honking in approval. :)

little stones, you keep repeating that often enough, and eventually you’ll believe it.

Reasonable people, however, don’t – no matter how many times you repeat it.

When the Hiawatha Light Rail line opened PAW CLAWS was there for the photo ops.
