Troy, that's not what I'm saying at all; I'm saying republiCons were fine with it when GOPers did it; but now have a problem when Democrats do it.

That's hypocrisy.

It's also the consistent inconsistency the GreedOverPrinciples party is known for.

You know, the ol' "That was then; this is now" crap republiCons are so wll-known for.

What I'd like to know is how many bonding projects were in Republican districts to begin with. As of a few weeks ago, the House DFL heard over 1000 bills. Out of the some 1000 bills, less than 200 were Republican bills. If they authored the bonding bill the way the operate the rest of the House, no doubt 90% of the bonding occured in DFL districts.

<em>"Murder is murder."</em>

Thank you for proving, once again, that republiCons have no regard for the law.

One result of how badly as the GreedOverPrinciples party has (cheney)ed up, is republiCons will NEVER hold the majority levers of power in the Executive and Legislative Branches again.

republiCons ran on the belief government doesn't work; then they got majority power and proved it.

January 20th, 2009 is The End Of An Error.

Bradley Moore, you clearly have your head shoved up the same ass as the rest of the DFL:

"Republicans have been very vocal in opposing stem cell research in reality, since large scale research requires the use of embryonic stem cells."

No Conservatives very vocally support stem cell research... using adult cells... which has never been dependent on embryonic stem cells. Whatever you said about large scale is just bullshit. I'm not even sure where you dug up that lie. Hell of an imagination if you thought of that one yourself.

There's very large scale research going on using adult cells, and it is the only research resulting in cures and treatments.

Amazing how adamant liberals are on killing children for medical research. Nazi's had a similar past time.

There is absolutely no reason whatsoever to believe that it is necessary to murder humans for risky medical research. If embryonic stem cell research was so promising, private investors would invest in it.

The fact is, embryonic stem cell research is nearly worthless. It's another immoral cause to which slaughterhouse Democrats have hitched their sad, pathetic wagon.

--TPT, you mean like force other people to pay for your immoral programs? Oh, wait… that’s the DFL.

I guess when it comes to ensuring a baby lives, or killing a child, I’d protect the baby.

Woman can make choices, sure. When they choose to have sex, they choose to potentially get pregnant. Not sure why killing children resolves that dilemma.--

The DFL does not force the state to pay for abortions. The Minnesota State Supreme court made that ruling and unless that court changes it's stance the state can do nothing to change it.

Question for your though, what if a woman doesn't make that choice and is raped? Are you going to tell her, like South Dakota tried to do, that she has to have that rapists child or she would be thrown in jail? What right do you have to make those conditions on women?

Get off your soapbox and put away your stones, before you get hurt.

"Hardly. First, Republicans have been vocal supporters of stem cell research, just not those involving “embryonic stem cells.”

Second, embryonic stem cells have never, ever, not once, resulted in any shape or form of a cure or treatment for any health related issue."

Sorry Buttnut, but most Republicans have been very vocal in opposing stem cell research in reality, since large scale research requires the use of embryonic stem cells.

As for finding new cures and treatments, they will definitely provide us with major medical breakthoughs provided they get approval and adequate funding. That is being held up primarly by the right-wing nuts that control your party.

"Which is worse MBB/MDE’s “MURDERER,” OR MN Monitor’s “Killer.”"

Considering that modern man has made the two words interchangable presidente, I don't see your point...for example, the 10 Commandments. The commandment "Thou shall not kill" is actually "thou shall not murder". The Hebrew verb is "Rache" which translates into the willfull, intentional taking of life - ie murder. Yet it has been mistranslated to "kill" and used as a justification against the death penalty (which is ok in the OT) and self-defense.

TPT, you mean like force other people to pay for your immoral programs? Oh, wait... that's the DFL.

I guess when it comes to ensuring a baby lives, or killing a child, I'd protect the baby.

Woman can make choices, sure. When they choose to have sex, they choose to potentially get pregnant. Not sure why killing children resolves that dilemma.

Minnesota Monitor is just a further left version of Checks and Balances. The children over there have the same level of intellect and credibility as Towle.

“Well, maybe Pawlenty is not such an indiscriminate killer after all…” Source: Minnesota Monitor, April 8, 2008

"As Andy Birkey noted here earlier, most of the district-specific cuts occurred in Democratic districts."

Chestnut, I'm not sure why you Small Tenters are so set on making decisions for the people.

Here you claim to be for less government, but you demand to force people to do what you want them to.

I understand why a chump like you would go for that: you want to take away a choice for a woman that you, yourself, will never have to make.

And after all, there's nothing more in the republiCon tradition that passing laws that don't affect themselves.

Hypocrite.

"Republicans have killed and prolonged endless suffering for millions by denying stem cell research."

Hardly. First, Republicans have been vocal supporters of stem cell research, just not those involving "embryonic stem cells."

Second, embryonic stem cells have never, ever, not once, resulted in any shape or form of a cure or treatment for any health related issue.

Not sure why liberals are so set on killing children.

Martin: And how many of the projects in the bonding bill were in DFL districts over GOP districts?

And Howie Jacobs: Stem Cells have never actually been proven to do what you say. They hope that it could one day. However, they recently announced that stem cells could be created without destroying a fetus. But I guess knowledge doesn't get around too much in the DFL circle.

Sloppy "reporting"? How about completely ignoring the pertinent facts to whine about being nasty, while doing what you accuse other of. We can all call each other names forever -- how about some numbers:

"of the 50 projects he vetoed that affected specific Senate districts, 49 were in DFL districts and one was in a Republican district. It also showed that $204 million, or 98 percent, was cut from DFL districts, $4.1 million, or 1.95 percent, was cut from statewide projects and $100,000, or .04 percent, was cut from Republican districts."

That's the substance referred to by the killing metaphor. Bills and programs are referred to as being "killed" the time; it's common usage. You've never objected to that word before. If one project is killed, what would you call it when 50 are slashed (another common budgetary phrase) all at once? The only logical extension of the metaphor is serial murderer. And given the blatantly partisan nature of the cuts, it's cold-blooded murder.

Brodkorb's whiny victimization schtick is just sleazy misdirection.

MBB/MDE claims that MN Monitor makes PAW CLAWS out to be a "MURDERER."

MN Monitor writes compare/contrast about Cohen Brothers screen play villan, and uses: "kill, kills, killer, killing"

Which is worse MBB/MDE's "MURDERER," OR MN Monitor's "Killer."

Well, unlike the liberals who advocate the slaughter of children, T-Paw is no murderer.

Michael,

Don't drop their link, just point it to MinnPost.com instead. They're a bit touchy about that.

Ah the sewer of the Minnesota blogosphere.

Anton Chigurh is a fictitious murderer. I think comparing someone to a fictitious murderer part of pop culture is one thing, entirely different than saying "T-Paw is a bigger a-hole than Jeffery Dahmer!".

Sure, the post is a little sensational. But then again, you'd have to be divorced from reality to think that what the Guv did today wasn't controversial. I don't see any criticism here about MnMon's point that the Guv cut dramatically more funding from DFL areas than GOP areas... That's deserving of sensation.
