WHAT A DUMB MOVE: EXTREMIST ELLISON ENDORSES MADIA

By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 10, 2008

According to a press release posted on MN Publius, Ashwin Madia’s campaign was endorsed today by Congressman Keith Ellison. Ellison is one of the most divisive and exteme elected officials in Minnesota. Last summer, Ellison likened President Bush to Adolf Hitler.

Since Madia doesn’t have a voting record to run on, he will be bracketed by his associations and who has endorsed his campaign. It is impossible for Madia to claim the political center when his campaign has been endorsed by an extremist like Ellison.

Ellison’s past involvement in the Nation of Islam, his record of anti-Semitic writings and his comparisons of President Bush to Adolf Hitler would prevent a true centrist from accepting his endorsement.

The race in the 3rd CD will be a real battle, but I’ll take a statesman like Congressman Ramstad campaigning with a centrist like Representative Paulsen, versus Ashwin Madia campaigning with an extremist like Congressman Ellison.

Paulsen centrist? Come on……let’s move to the GE and start laying out his real voting record and his affiliations……he’s from the Bachmann wing of the GOP. The 3rd isn’t the 6th.

“It is impossible for Madia to claim the political center…”

No, Michael – it is not impossible, at all.

Now, it’s impossible for Paulsen to claim the political center…oh, wait – Paulsen already tried that.

    Didn’t work, either.

The Bachmann wing of the GOP… you mean the part that believes in American values, fighting tyranny and oppression, protecting freedom and liberty and safeguarding human life?

Sounds like the Right place to be.

Puddles how do you feel about Madia? You know he was a Republican that switched parties. ;) You seem to have real hate for Norm doing the very same thing.

Only I expect he is not done. I think he played this well and knew full well to get started he would need to be a democRat in MN. I believe before all is said and done years from now, Madia goes back to the Republicans.

I had a few minutes to talk with the young man and democRat or not, the kid is bright and and can hold the attention of about any room he chooses. Tlaking with him he is anything but a flaming liberal like our friends puddles, el pres, Yoni and such. They are excited about a democRat very likely getting the win, but they are way off base about how liberal he is. :)

Then again, all liberals are thinking they are going to take over the democRat party like the conservatives had the Republican party. Only problem is, it will never happen. The democRats will pander just long enough to keep the far left happy and voting, but they know full well liberalism, progressives or what ever new name they come up with will always be the minority in America.

America is about winners, liberalism, socialism and the like are all about the opposite! :)

Chestnut, GOPers don’t defend liberty any more.

Your side gave that up when Gonzo declared the Constitution doesn’t include the right of Habeas Corpus, for American Ctizens, and you acquiesced.

The GOP believes the goverment not only has the power to take your guns, they can take you, your children, your guns, and any other property they want to, AND YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CHALLENGE the governments actions in court.

    NONE.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YIFqYVAOosM

This is where the GOP party is today; backing extremists like Gonzales and Paulsen.

The Third is a moderate district; it will NEVER go to an extremist like Paulsen.

Really chaps your hide that after throwing everything and the kitchen sink at Ellison, he still crushed your puppet Alan Fine.

Thirty years from now, when Ellison decides to retire from congress, I hope your hate is as strong as ever, so you can continue DFL dominance in this seat by proving that you just don’t understand any form of politics that is not heavily soaked in sewage.

  7. Chestnut Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 12:12 PM

    Uh… that’s pretty funny TPT… BRILLIANT!!!!

  8. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 12:18 PM

Chestnut, I not surprised that you think Gonzo testifying the Constitution doesn’t guarantee the right to Habeas to American Citizens, is funny.

    I’m not surprised at all.

There is no way in Hell any reasonable person could call Paulsen a centrist, that is complete bullshit.

You would have a better chance at getting people to buy Yugos in Minnetonka, then you would at buying that load of crap.

  12. Chestnut Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 1:06 PM

I’m going to bet that TPT doesn’t know what the words “habeas corpus” or “right” mean.

In fact, Gonzalas was perfectly correct, and in particular, if one views the Constitution through the eyes of the founders — a task to which liberals are incapable.

First, a “right” is something that cannot be granted or denied by anyone. It is an inherent possession of the individual, given to them by God (or nature, or whatever — this isn’t the place for that argument).

Now, here’s what the Constitution says (Article 1, section 9): “The privilege of the writ of habeas corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in cases of rebellion or invasion, the public safety may require it.”

The Constitution calls the Writ of Habeas Corpus a privilege, not a right. It also says that the privilege can be suspended.

So, Gonzalez is absolutely correct when he says that a right to habeas corpus is not in the Constitution. It isn’t.

You’re an ignorant, boneheaded fool if you think it is. … or you’re Two Putt Tommy.

“The Bachmann wing of the GOP… you mean the part that believes in American values, fighting tyranny and oppression, protecting freedom and liberty and safeguarding human life?”

Nah, the Bachmann wing features our hero tirelessly fighting for lightbulb freedom and perfecting the art of hedge hiding. She fights to protect the oppression of gay people and enshrine it in our Constitution. She holds lady liberty’s torch high underneath any unlucky arab we find and gives them a good old dose of waterboarding and rendition.

  14. Big Kahuna Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 1:14 PM

Nitty I bet really hates the fact that Bachmann is also way more attractive. ;)

Moonbats and their hatred for Bachmann, I love to hear em cry. :)

Things happen in the Democratic Camps.

Ellison calls bush Hitler. This makes Ellison an extremist.

People in Mpls voted for Ellison.

Therefore, the people that voted for Ellision are nothing more than Extremists.

MN deserves better than that. I want to call in the national guard to sweep Mpls of the scum who voted for the law-breaking, divisive, extremist-loving ellison.

(New York Norm Exposed) NYNE’s campaign brags that NYNE reaches across party lines to get things, like bridges that have fallen rebuilt, by reaching across party lines.

Does NYNE really think that Bachmann is less controversial than Ellison?

  18. Chestnut Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 2:31 PM

“Does NYNE really think that Bachmann is less controversial than Ellison?”

Uh… yes… Bachmann isn’t an anti-Semite. Bachmann isn’t financed by terrorists. Bachmann isn’t a racist. Bachmann isn’t allied with cop killers.

    Ellison is, had and does.

  19. Big Kahuna Says:

Is it me or does it seem el pres, puddles, Yoni and a few others are doing what ever they can but address the issues at hand? ;)

It seems MDE has hit so many liberal nerves, they have had to go out and recruit a few folks to try to counter what happens here. :)

  20. TwoPuttTommy Says:

Responding to questions from Sen. Arlen Specter at a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Jan. 18, Gonzales argued that the Constitution doesn’t explicitly bestow habeas corpus rights; it merely says when the so-called Great Writ can be suspended.

“There is no expressed grant of habeas in the Constitution; there’s a prohibition against taking it away,” Gonzales said.

Gonzales’s remark left Specter, the committee’s ranking Republican, stammering.

“Wait a minute,” Specter interjected. “The Constitution says you can’t take it away except in case of rebellion or invasion. Doesn’t that mean you have the right of habeas corpus unless there’s a rebellion or invasion?”

Gonzales continued, “The Constitution doesn’t say every individual in the United States or citizen is hereby granted or assured the right of habeas corpus. It doesn’t say that. It simply says the right shall not be suspended” except in cases of rebellion or invasion.”

“You may be treading on your interdiction of violating common sense,” Specter said.

Chestnut, you violate common sense with every breath you take.

Fortunately, your small tent is getting smaller by the day.

    (Head shaking in disbelief, laughing)

Thank you, Tom Johnson…..you clearly and frequently demonstrate the complete and utter failure of Minnesota’s public school system.

I will refer to your MDE postings when I need evidence demonstrating the lack of accountability in our school system.

Moreover, it would be 1 thing if you were young, inexperienced and naive.

We all know that you are (or at least pretend to be) an adult.

It is simply astonishing to see what Tommy’s mind produced so frequently, foolishly and falsely.

    Keep it up Tommy!

Maybe you should buddy up next to Education MN and Tom Dooher. He could really use you to illustrate why he thinks MN public schools will need (likely) another $800 million around this time next year.

Keep up the good work……’ya deadbeat.

  22. TwoPuttTommy Says:

Go with that. It works for you.

  23. MrMustang Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 5:11 PM

Paulsen a centrist? News to me. I thought he was a “conservative”. If he is now calling himself a “centrist” count me out. I don’t want another centrist. I want conservatives winning. If Paulsen is not proud of being a conservative he’s gonna lose because you can’t out moderate or liberal the Dems.

I for one think they way to win is run as a “conservative”. If one does, it’s a winning strategy. Conservatism wins EVERY TIME IT IS TRIED. Look at Bachmann. She ran as an unabashed conservative in a swing district and won. Same with John Kline is a moderately GOP district. You don’t see either of them apologizing for being conservative. Until Republicans run as conservatives instead of funning away from it, we’re going to keep losing — as McCain will this fall.

  24. TwoPuttTommy Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 6:25 PM

    Say, MrMustang?

“Right” from the ol’ Hustler’s website:

“Paulsen lauches this bid after years of working in bipartisan fashion, acorss the aisle, to get results in the business world and in the Minnesota legislature.”

    http://paulsenforcongress.com/vertical/Sites/%7B5CCBFCEF-0789-4A30-A3CB-888FF87DAF55%7D/uploads/%7BAC8D0101-D6D3-419B-BC3F-809DA5E0B918%7D.PDF

And I was there when he said that; he also said he’s a moderate in the tradition of Bill Frenzel and Jim Ramstad.

The Hustler’s claimin’ he ain’t no stinkin’ conservative.

Apparently, he don’t like you and your type, any more…

  25. MrMustang Says:

Thanks for the info 2 putt. He won’t be getting a cent from me.

  26. I.R. Informed Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 7:23 PM

Being a fiscal and social conservative, I really wished that conservatism would win every time Mr. Mustang, but that is not the case. If it were, Krinkie, Klinzing, and Wilkie would have been slam dunks in ’06. I can’t believe I am saying this, but I agree with TPT that Paulsen is not a Centrist and thank God for that. Paulsen is a great man and should be able to win on his record and character. Besides, his competition is very shaky at best.

  27. Chestnut Says:
    April 10th, 2008 at 9:00 PM

Hey TwoPutt, if it can be suspended IT IS NOT A RIGHT.

THERE IS NO RIGHT TO HABEAS CORPUS IN THE U.S. CONSTITUTION.

The Constitution calls it a “privilege” not a right. Your fucking stupid comments aren’t going to change that fact.
