ON “MIDDAYâ€, FRANKEN CLAIMS HE’S SUPPORTED BY DSCC CHAIR CHUCK SCHUMER
By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 14, 2008
Moments ago on “Midday” on MPR, Al Franken said he was being supported by DSCC chair Senator Charles Schumer. Minnesota Democrats have yet to pick a candidate, so I’m surprised that the DSCC is picking sides yet.
I sent an e-mail to Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer’s campaign, Franken’s rival for the DFL endorsement, requesting comment.
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

very easy questions of course, Angry Al cannot address his lies or insurance issues. Not to mention he will not be questioned about stealing his money from a boys and girls club. Then again, what liberal would not steal from kids if it meant furthering their liberal ideals.
Al just seems so angry and uninformed.

Well, Schumer and Franken are both loudmouth, grandstanding assholes. Wouldn’t surprise me if these two birds of feather stuck together.
April 14th, 2008 at 12:11 PM
I’ve provided the boys at Publius a no-charge liveblogging of Angry Al’s melt-down.

This was a disaster for Al…he actually defended Iran and HAMAS while saying that pressure needs to be applied to Israel!!

I will be curious to see how the Pallmeyer campaign reacts.
Will the DFL in this state, with their proud record of grassroots dominance of the nominating process really allow Schumer to push Pallmeyer aside in favor of a guy (Franken) who was an Iraq War supporter???
April 14th, 2008 at 12:58 PM
DiDftL,
Don’t tell me you don’t remember Amy Klobuchar’s endorsement!!! Ford Bell remembers.
Chuck Schumer ALWAYS gets to pick the DFL candidate.
I think the key here will be whether the Pallmeyer supporters (and Pallmeyer himself) have the spine to tell the DSCC and Schumer that they will select their candidate, thank you very much.
What a great stick in the eye to the powered-elite for the DFL grassroots to go with Pallmeyer. Isn’t that what they claim to be about?

Is there a tyrant or despot the Democrats don’t support? Good grief!
April 14th, 2008 at 2:04 PM
Yes, George W Bush
That’ll do Sheeple that’ll do
April 14th, 2008 at 2:10 PM

I follow all the US Senate races ridiculously close and I always find Schumer quotes when pertaining to his DSCC and Senate races. What he has said so far about Franken and the MN-Senate race is that he worried about Franken’s candidacy, hinting that he prefered Ciresi. But he recently said that he was impressed what Franken has done in his race. Never says that he is supported by him, but it hints that he does.
Although, there is a distinct difference between supported and endorsed. From what Schumer said at the end, I would call saying that he supported Franken is more of an exaggeration than a flat out lie.
April 14th, 2008 at 4:28 PM
If Schumer did not say that he supports Angry Al it is a lie. Maybe not in the DFL world but in the real world where the rest of us live it is a lie.
April 14th, 2008 at 4:35 PM
Maybe Schumer sent his endorsement to Al’s New York satellite apartment and it got lost in all of those certified dunning notices from the state!
April 14th, 2008 at 10:10 PM
The amazing thing, rePete, is you believe that’s a lie, but “I think they’re in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency.” was true.
Thank you for proving, once again, the consistent inconsistency of today’s neo-clown GOPer…

Swiftee,
you scared me there with your Israel accusation. But after actually listening to the Midday piece, Franken was right-on. Whats wrong with putting pressure on Israel, on the settlements for example?
April 15th, 2008 at 4:56 AM
Yoni, you ignorant slut, why should we put pressure on the victim of terrorist aggression?
Oh that’s right, you guys don’t support terrorists, you just support every organization that commits it.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:20 AM
ignorant slut, my main interest in this world is Israel, you don’t know shit about it. I asked specifically about the settlements, why don’t you tell me why the settlements are good? I hate Hamas, but conflict obviously isn’t working for Israel. do me a favor, go back and listen to Franken yesterday on Mid-day, brush up on the Egyptian/Israeli peace accord, especially noting the quote by Rabin, that Franken reiterated perfectly I might add. especially noting the quote by Rabin, that Franken reiterated perfectly.
Once you have a clue, then you can call me whatever u want.
bitch
April 15th, 2008 at 8:48 AM
I bet your main interest is Israel. Do you hate it and its people as much as the Islamists do?
April 15th, 2008 at 8:49 AM
Al Franken is an idiot. A slow-witted, talentless idiot. A lying, slow-witted, talentless idiot.
He’s a model Democrat.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:55 AM
Chestnut, is it impossible for you to say something that isn’t negative, back by nothing? I assume you are not a child because your blogging @ 8:50am, but seriously man, just say something logical once. I am asking you to address the settlements, how are they good for Israel?
April 15th, 2008 at 9:45 AM
Settlements are good for Israel about the same way a new Applebees franchise is good for Applebees. What? Should the French stop building houses near Paris?
Frankly, the Israelis should stop listening to the “world community” and exterminate the problem while it still has a chance. There are no “innocent” Palestinians, so long as they tolerate terrorist attacks waged by Hammas and the PLO.
So long as Hammas and the PLO, et. al. continue to rocket, bomb and terrorize, Israel has an absolute right to wage unrelenting war against those organizations.
Who the hell are you to object?
April 15th, 2008 at 9:50 AM
Supporters of Hammas and the PLO deserve as much sympathy as supporters of Nazis. They have the same ambitions and the same methods.
Ever watch what Palestinians do to their kids? How’s that good for Palestine? Ever see old film of the Nazi Youth? Ever watch those monkeys in the Middle East gather and salute around their mullahs?
Exterminate is too gentle a policy.
April 15th, 2008 at 12:55 PM
i think you are right on chestnut. i really feel the same way. but at the same time, this conflict can’t last forever. once the Palestinians have a demograhic majority within Israel/WB/Gaza then there is more reason for these lefty crap stain peace organizations to compare them to SA and an apartheid system, even though there is really no comparison between the two. A two state solution is in the best interest of all parties involved.
but enough about this, don’t wanna fill Michael’s blog with useless chatter.
April 15th, 2008 at 1:32 PM
“but enough about this, don’t wanna fill Michael’s blog with useless chatter.”
twopudd does it all the time, do not feel too bad.
April 15th, 2008 at 1:58 PM
A two state solution will never exist so long as one state refuses to recognize the other state’s right to exist.
Until the Palestinians evolve, Israel should fight, bomb and retaliate without reserve.
April 15th, 2008 at 4:55 PM
we can always dream chestnut, but you are right it will never exist w/ Hamas in control. I guess its my liberal day dreaming, hope or whatever obama is saying these days….
April 15th, 2008 at 7:41 PM
Obama’s rhetoric is as empty as his resume. That fool spends hours saying nothing. Air-puffed platitudes. Nothing more… he’s a race hustler… hell, he’s just a hustler.
April 15th, 2008 at 8:24 PM
again, we agree on something chestnut. but i still got to vote for him over mccain. that man won’t live for another 4 years, if he become president my prediction is he dies (of natural causes) by 2010
April 15th, 2008 at 8:38 PM
Whatever makes you feel good. As for me, I’ll vote for the guy who has accomplished something in his life, and has a moral basis for making sound decisions.
Obama’s got neither… and worse, he’s inclined to invite terrorists to the White House.
