APRIL 15TH IS TAX DAY AND THE MINNESOTA DFL’S BIRTHDAY!
By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 15, 2008
Minnesota Democrats joined forces with the Farmer-Labor Party on April 15, 1944. Hence, the Minnesota Democratic Farmer-Labor Party’s birthday is April 15th – Tax Day.
Back in 1994, the DFL didn’t sound too excited about their birthday sharing the same day as Tax Day:
“The 50th anniversary apparently will pass with less fanfare.
Rick Stafford, the DFL chairman, said he wasn’t even sure of the date of the anniversary until recently, and he wasn’t eager to call attention to it. ‘It’s tax day,’ he said. ‘The press probably would like to make a big deal about that.’†Source: Star Tribune, April 15, 1994
E-mail the Minnesota DFL and wish them a happy birthday - I’m sure they won’t appreciate the attention on Tax Day.

Yet they tell us how the majority of MN voters approve the tax increases, why would they want to hide from them?
It is looking more and more like the local DFL could be in real trouble this election cycle. People who usually vote for democRats are finding out they suddenly qualify as “rich” for democRat tax increases.

On what day does the MN GOP celebrate the CLAWING of the HOT HALF-DOZEN?

The DFL is a WWII baby – interesting.

You got “baby” right.

I would of thought the DFL would have been formed on April 1st – who knew…

el pres, can you tell me then what ever happened to Joe Liberman?
Seems the democRat party does not tolorate those with different views?
How about Mr. Miller? You know the one who asked his fellow democRats if they were going to fight a war with spitballs.
As soon as you explain all that we might think of explaining the override 6 to you.

You are not being fair, Brodkorb. The DFL was founded in 1944 but the tax deadline wasn’t moved to April 15 until 1955.
