PAULSEN FOR CONGRESS PRESS RELEASE: “PAULSEN ENDORSED FOR CONGRESS IN THE THIRD DISTRICT; RECEIVES STRONG ENDORSEMENT FROM CONGRESSMAN JIM RAMSTAD”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 19, 2008
Bloomington — Representative Erik Paulsen was endorsed as the candidate for Congress in the Third District at the Republican Convention today.
“Minnesotans want leaders to understand that America is at a crossroads. Our economy, our domestic security, and our standing as a world leader all deserve something more substantial than governing by sound bites,” said Paulsen.
“We need fresh ideas and energetic, forward-thinking leaders who appreciate the necessity for change,” he continued.
Congressman Jim Ramstad spoke on Erik’s behalf at the convention. “We have the right person to represent the Third District at this critical time in our nation’s history. Today, friends, it is my distinct privilege to pass the torch of leadership to a new generation… To a leader who has the integrity, energy, vision, experience and character… A leader who will serve the people of our district with distinction at this critical time in our nation’s history,” Ramstad said.
Paulsen, who has a record of bipartisan accomplishment in the legislature said he is focused on issues of concern to Third District residents. “Whether its a family of four worried about making their next mortgage payment or retirees concerned about paying the rising costs of health care, I will be a strong voice in Congress to stimulate our economy and create jobs and make health care affordable.”
“I will be guided by the common-sense values of fiscal responsibility, government that is both small and accountable, a belief in pro-growth economic policies… and a deep conviction that results matter,” Paulsen said.
Paulsen, who believes it’s time for Washington get its fiscal house in order said “Congress seems to want to spend more and tax more – and its not just Democrats. I’m a Republican that thinks some Republicans have done a poor job of addressing the federal budget deficit.”

Its cool to see MDE praising the merits of a candidate instead of trying to discredit a different one!
good work Michael

That’s all well and good, but I’m still not happy with our public servants calling themselves our “leaders.” It makes me think they might vote the way THEY want rather than the way I want.

This site is “dedicated to a truthful discussion on the activities, statements, and tactics of Minnesota DEMOCRATS.”
It seems to me that this site seems to be dedicated to Paulsen’s endorsement – plus, instead of what is listed on the title.

Now how does Paulsen represent that considering he will only continue voting for Bush policies that this country is sick of. A vote for Paulsen is a vote for the status-quo.

LOL, you’re funny Andrew. You do realize that Paulsen, when elected, will never get to vote on a “Bush policy”… even so, I suspect his constituents would appreciate voting for policies that keep our country safe and secure… versus, say, Democrat policies that allow terrorists to train here…
I see Obama is still soaking up the sunshine of his Hammas endorsement.

“Paulsen, who has a record of bipartisan accomplishment in the legislature”
When you get a minute, I’d sure appreciate you making up…I mean spelling out some specific examples of his record of bipartisan accomplishment.
