PAULSEN: “JIM RAMSTAD IS A MENTOR OF MINE”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 19, 2008

“Ramstad endorsed Paulsen, a former Ramstad aide who ran unopposed, as a ‘leader who has the integrity, energy, vision, experience and character.’” Source: Star Tribune, April 19, 2008

“Paulsen, 42, said he considers himself a fiscal conservative who can reprise Ramstad’s ability to connect with Democrats.

‘The district that I’ve represented within the Third Congressional District, both Eden Prairie and Edina … is very much a microcosm of the Third District and I’ve done very well with conservatives and moderates voters,’ he said. ‘Jim Ramstad is a mentor of mine. I am cut from the same cloth on many issues, particularly fiscal issues.’” Source: Star Tribune, April 19, 2008

Erik does not want to tie himself to Ramstad in the eyes of this conservative. He had better think again if he wants to have the blessing of a liberla who:

tried to Dramatically increase SCHIP to cover adults and those making way more than the average Minnesotan.

Put many more rules on insurance companies and dictating what they must cover.

Introduced a socialist medicine bill that would cover all children regardlesss of income.

Fully supported Nancy Pelosi’s 100 hour agenda.

Caving to the Environazis and killing the jobs of thousands of westerners who depend on logging for thier lively hood.

Let states take my m0oney for education but have no testing in place to ensure that it is being spent wisely.

Erik, if this is the type of rep you will be, stop running now and let Ashwin have the seat .

I believe Ramstad also voted to stop funding for the war on one of the many votes.

No doubt, the 3rd CD likes a centrist. But there is a strong base of GOPers here, people who considered Ramstad to be too wishy-washy.

Madia will get the left 1/3. Paulsen will get the right 1/3. Of the middle, this district leans right. Paulsen should be able to get to 45% without much effort. He probably gets another 3-4% because Ramstad is fully supporting him.

It is that final 2% that he needs to fight for.
