PIONEER PRESS: “REPUBLICANS SAY FRANKEN STILL OWES TAXES”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 25, 2008
“The Minnesota Republican Party today again alleged that Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken has had some problems paying all the taxes he should have for his business.
The party chairman Ron Carey, based on public records searches and some speculation, says that Franken hasn’t paid taxes to California for paid appearances he made there in the last few years.
Franken’s spokesman Andy Barr said at worst Franken’s accountant had ‘some level of confusion’ over which taxes should be paid where by Alan Franken Inc., the company Franken and his wife Franni set up to deal with Franken’s income from various sources.
‘There is no attempt to evade anything,’ Barr said. That same accountant is now trying to work things out with California.
Carey on Friday wrote the Executive Officer of the California State Franchise Tax Board as a ‘concerned citizen’ to suggest the board examine Franken’s potential tax debt.” Source: Pioneer Press, April 25, 2008

“… Barr said. “That same accountant is now trying to work things out with California.”
Which same accountant? The same accountant who has been the accountant of record for New York scandal, and the accountant that filed disclosure forms with the Calif. Secretary of State in 2004 and 2006?
OR THE SAME ACCOUNTANT WHO SIGNED THE BOGUS DISSOLUTION LETTER, ALLEGEDLY FROM 2003?
Which same accountant?
