HCDFL:

Lets go over this very slowly. Al Franken is running for a position where he wants to manage the affairs of the country properly. In this case:

   * Franken got wrong information and therefore made wrong decisions. This will happen again and again.

   * A golden rule for politicians is to make sure they don't do anything to embarrass themselfs. This was totally preventable by making sure his finances were in order before being announced.

   * Part of this problem is that Franken made this discovery I assume lets say on April 28th. Because of Franken's timing he cost himself a chance to ask for a refund on his 2004 taxes and earlier returns. If Franken had caught this in March he would have been able to get a refund on 2004.

   * Part of this problem is that Franken is blaming the accoutant. Of course that isn't new for the Democrats. They blame oil companies for high gasoline prices when it's really high government taxes on gasoline and government rules (too many to list) that spike the price up. They blame big drug profits for high medical costs when it's these companies ability to make the profit that fuels the research for new drugs. Etc. I got an idea. Blame the party responsible which in this case is AL FRANKEN.

The bottom line is this shows that Franken is totally unqualified to be a United State Senator.

Swiftee;
Insult me all you want, it won't change the truth.
Al and Franni paid every cent of taxes owed.
Their accountant made the mistake, the needed amounts were paid and Al explained what had occurred.
A true leader is not afraid to own up to their mistakes and correct them. (Something Bush and Coleman should try)
Most of the states involved weren't even aware of the problem until they were contacted by Team Franken.
Maybe MNGOP should have a few of the people they used to go over Franken's taxes with a "fine tooth comb" check their own financial records. And while their at it they should check out Mrs. Coleman's unreported business income.
That'll do Sheeple that'll do

What law is that? Also, has Norm paid taxes in other states on his other income? Income, like Al's, generated from speeches he has given outside the state?

Hiram writes: "Senator Coleman lives in the east for much of the year. I wonder if he pays the bulk of his taxes in Maryland, or Virginia or the District of Columbia or wherever it is he lives while Congress is in session?"

Pay attention here, Hiram. Class is now in session. Under federal law, U.S. Senators (and members of Congress as well) do not have to pay income taxes in D.C., Maryland or Virginia.

So, while Hiram shoots from the hip, Hiram is not hip when he/she (and it is often difficult to tell one from the other in the DFL) shoots.

That will be all.

“These are troubling admissions by Norm Coleman. Clearly, with self-professed Blo and Go sales in 17 different states, there will be many, many questions about this matter. On behalf of the tens of thousands of small businesses in my state, and on behalf of the millions of taxpayers of Minnesota who work hard, obey the rules and follow the laws, I believe this is a serious, and troublesome situation that must be addressed.”

Your right Yoni, well kind of. Mike's the shovel we use to bury Democrats in this state, but it is the MSM that is repeating Mike's stories.

They're learning though.

Michael, you hit it out of the park on this one.

Jesus, Michael has nothing to do with these stories, he posts a blog about a story which someone else wrote about and he is your hero. You people are tool boxes.

Go sit by your bowl and wait your turn.

Drip, drip, drip. The bad news keeps coming day after day for Angry Al. I wonder what the news will be tomorrow. My guess: he has multiple wives who wear pastel dresses all living on a ranch in Texas.

Sheeple;
Al paid every dime that was owed in taxes, his accountant just paid it all to the state of New York.
Nice try but NO glue, thanks again for bringing another non story that isn't based on fact out so early in the campaign.

Hey Eight Putt:

    Here's two major differences:

One, Carey isn't running around the state asking for a job where he has to pay attention to details. Franken is.

And two, lets see you point to one violation. Show me seventeen more and than we can say Carey is bad as Franken.

So where are those seventeen more you need?

You're probably right Swiftee, Democrats will hold onto the Franken until the bitter end. I was revolted by the dem party activists during the conventions as they screamed and yelled for Franken while disregarding any thoughts of competence or experience. I supported Mike until he dropped out, now I support Coleman because... well, just look at the two dems left in the race. I'm actually surprised by how quickly Franken's campaign is falling apart.

If Franken wasn't a comedian/celebrity, his campaign would be an actual joke that was never funny.

You're right Patrick.

But when you have a walking disaster like Angry Al, there's not much we can do.

He's killing himself faster than even dolt #1 can cope with.

But that doesn't mean that the Democrats will dump him. They elected a Nation of Islam member to the 5th CD and no doubt believe that the whole state is just as stupid.

Al has plenty more that he can do to the DFL, and I firmly believe that they will give him every opportunity to do it.

Why are Republicans pouncing on Franken right now? Republicans should wait until he is endorsed!!!!!!

Many Ciresi supporters and independents, such as myself, have been put off by Franken enough to support Coleman. Now that Franken is collapsing so early, I hope Ciresi gets back into the race.

If Republicans want to face Franken, they best be careful

Anyone agree?

Say, "exposer"?

Mike disclosed his business a looong time ago. He's got international credibility. He's your worst nightmare.

Say, "exposer"?

How cool is it to get to set fire to moonbat political candidates and make a comfortable living doing it?

Bwahahahahahaaaaa!

Say, "exposer"?

Do you think that George Soros is getting his money's worth out of you Sockpuppets at MiniMoney? Or do you think he'd sell his left nut to be able to hire Mike?

I'd hold off on pulling the trigger on that new toaster oven, if I were you...

Hahahahaaaaa!

Mikey Brodkorb has been playing "watchdog" here because he is paid very well by the MNGOP and/or Norm Coleman to do it. He likes to pretend he's just providing a nice public service, but he is paid very very well for his services. Problem is, he refuses to disclose just who pays him, and continues to pretend he's just a hobbyist.

Why isn't the DFL paying someone handsomely to "blog" like the GOP pays Brodkorb?

I don't even know what to say about this.

Michael, you hit it out of the park on this one. Franken's ethical transgressions may knock him out of the race, and none of this would have happened if you weren't playing the role of watch dog here. The mainstream media would have obviously never dug this up if it weren't hand delivered to them.

Congrats Michael. Great reporting.
