MY FACT-BASED RESPONSE TO A DISGUSTING, VILE AND FACTUALLY FALSE ATTACK ON SENATOR COLEMAN’S WIFE
By Michael B. Brodkorb | April 29, 2008
It’s time to set the record straight to Two-Putt Tommy and the other bloggers who have began the vicious and disgusting attack against Senator Norm Coleman’s wife.
For the record, I think using vulgar and vile comments about someone’s wife and the mother of someone’s kids is pretty pathetic. It’s this kind of “satire†that I know Al Franken has used to sell millions of dollars of books – but, it is also one of the reason that Al Franken’s not likely to be a United States Senator.
I contacted Senator Coleman’s campaign office to ask specific questions about the Senator Norm Coleman’s Financial Disclosure Report.
First, Senate Ethics requirements are very clear about income disclosure for spouses. If Two-Putt Tommy or the other bloggers had bothered – once again – checking the facts, they would have seen that the spouse of a Senator or a candidate for U.S. Senate is required to list the source of income in excess of $1,000.
If the spouse of the candidate did not earn income in excess of $1,000, there is no requirement to file it.
Both Al Franken’s wife, and Senator Norm Coleman’s wife, have duly reported the source of income they received for the reporting period covered by the United States Senate Financial Disclosure Report.
Second, the FEC does not require any reporting of income or jobs of any candidate’s spouse.
Facts are important things. Two-Putt Tommy and other bloggers who launch personal attacks against someone’s wife should be ashamed of their conduct, but most importantly, they should get their facts straight.

Don’t get too excited, Laurie is only Norm’s wife in legal terms.
April 29th, 2008 at 10:54 am
As Bobby Kennedy noted: “Nobody hates like a liberal.”
April 29th, 2008 at 10:59 am
Michael, in a way I have to point back to you on this one. Tommy has been using your blog for exposure so he can get more traffic on his shit blog.
Had you taken the stance to ban him long ago as you should have, his letter and such would have never been read because he would still be totally unknown.
Stop the idiot we all know as puddles from posting here and watch his vile disappear as he will fade back to being just another raving idiot liberal with a shit blog no one reads.
Nooo… instead you just keep letting him grow off you blog, not smart in my opinion.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:13 am
Tommy AKA Flounder has a blog?
Who writes it for him, everything he’s said here comes straight from DUh underground or
salon.bankrupt.
Wonders never cease, even a shortbus rider can have their own blog now.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:17 am
Seems his Jr High scool antics have a few upset over at MN Pooplius as well.
Tommy plays such a internet tough guy but yet hides after he calls someone out.
Puddles you are such a coward, no wonder you are a liberal.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:19 am
PLEASE Michael, take away his right to post here and he will be crying foul all over the internet which will make the rest of us feel really good.
Plus, then he has no place to go for his exposure and will go back to the rock he came from and everyone will just forget about him. A fate he would hate worse than any other.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:29 am
“fact-based”??!?
C’mon, Michael – fact based, and you??!?
Yeah, “right”.
Like this one?
BOMBSHELL FROM THE MN GOP: “IT’S OFFICIAL: FRANKEN’S U.S. SENATE PERSONAL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE FORM PROVES HE DID BUSINESS IN CALIFORNIAâ€
And you wonder why you’re losing your credibility.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:30 am
Just think how little your life would mean puddles if you lose your right to post here.
I hope he does it and shuts that fat face up once and for all.
Still up for the VFW tommy or are you still in hiding?
April 29th, 2008 at 11:35 am
Two Putt — attacking a man’s wife and family –I am not sure you have much right to talk about credibility. Pretty disgusting stuff.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:35 am
When you’re old enough to belly up to the bar, little stones, I might buy you a beer.
Somehow, I figure you’ll get a fake ID before then, ’cause that’s the kind of punk you are.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:39 am
MakeTheCount – I got that stuff from your side.
You remember, doncha? El Druggo, callin’ Chelsea “The White House dog”?
Doin’ the ol’ push-poll deal to McCain, in South Carolina in 2000? Remember that one, where republiCons insinuated McCain’s adopted kid was black, and illegitimate to boot?
You republiCons go ballistic when the crap you do unto others, is done unto you.
Cry me a river, pal.
And then go (cheney) yourself.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:39 am
If you guys are talking about the hopkins VFW , I believe I’ve met Flounder one night, He still thinks Carter was a great president LOL.
I thought they’d started a comedy club for shortbus members.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:41 am
White house dog Eh? (if the shoe fit)and you guys whine like a Poodle , once again you’ve showed how the libtards can dish it out and can’t take it.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:43 am
Two-Putt,
It takes a pretty weak person to attack some guy’s family. I don’t care who does it, Democrat or Republican. It lacks courage and it lacks character. You should feel pretty proud of yourself for doing the same kind of garbage that you “….got that stuff from your side” from.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:50 am
Gimme a break, Brodkorb, get off your high f’en horse. As if you want till all the facts have been explored before blasting out sixteen posts speculating on this, that or the other alleged impropriety of Franken. You’ve had so much egg on your face from premature ejaculations here you should get a bib!
By the way, nice to see Laurie is using the office of U.S. Senate to sell her little Blo and Go. Nothing like a prominent spouse to get your sales humming.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:51 am
MtPC – did you even read the first coupla lines on my post?
I thought not.
Well, the republiCons are busy, tossin’ crap up against the wall, to see what sticks.
Hey – sounds like fun!
Wait’ll the state o’ California gets my letter!!!
The GreedOverPrinciples party throws crap up against the wall to see what sticks, and then bitches when it’s done back to ‘em.
What a bunch of wusses.
And for the record: I did e-mail that letter to the State of California.
Chairman Ron (who has a big ol’ Shoddy Paperwork problem, himself) stated clearly and repeatedly he did not know if Franken had a problemo in California; likewise, I never claimed Coleman has a problem.
I’m just doin’ what republiCon Ron did, and am challenging the State Of California to investigate.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:51 am
Why is it unfair to attack Coleman’s wife? Her website uses SENATOR COLEMAN AND HIS U.S. SENATE OFFICEto shill for a commercial product.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
Well, Mikey, what will you say when this story hits the Strib? BTW, the suck cut I used on Wayne was much better than this stuff. I may sue Laurie for copyright infringement.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:02 pm
Two Putt,
I read your post. I also know that I couldn’t even look at my own Mom if I made the kind of comments you have made against someone else’s Mother — or made the post that you made. You may not like that you are now having to defend your degrading comments about some guy’s wife or some kid’s wife — but, you made the post, now live with it.
I will tell you that my brothers would have kicked the snot out of me for ever having made the kind of comments you made about a woman, a Mom and a wife — and my Mom and Dad would have both been ashamed.
Of course, you are proud of your post, so shame really isn’t an option for you.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:03 pm
You’re right, there is no way Laurie Coleman sold more than 30 of those things. Make the liberal bloggers apologize, she made about $120 total on this stuff.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:11 pm
I love it when stuff like this blows up in Brodkorb’s face.
Laurie Coleman has 2 sources of earned income listed on Norm’s disclosure form.
The first is a salary with the Hays Companies in Minneapolis. That is an insurance firm in the IDS Center.
The second is a salary with Bell Phillip Telephone in Los Angeles. That is a production company.
That means there is no disclosure of Blo N Go income.
Sounds to me that the letter sent to California authorities by Two Putt raises the exact same issues as the one sent by Carey.
The only way that Brodkorb can make this a non-issue is by knowing that 30 of these things have never been sold in California in the same year. Mikey, what facts do you have to know that isn’t the case? Why can’t people speculate with Coleman in the same manner as speculation as done with Franken? It seems that Coleman needs to answer the same questions being put to Franken about potential unreported sources of income.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:13 pm
(yawn)
did you have a point to make, MtPC?
Somehow, I don’t remember you ever criticizin’ little stones, NotSoSwiftly, ChestNuts, rePete, or any of the other Usual Suspects that congregate here.
IOW – sour grapes from a clown that’s fine when his side does it, but bitches and moans when the other side does.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
Puddles, have been to the VFW now 3 times and you are still no where to be found. In fact the gal working the bar last time said you have not been in for a while and figured you were off hiding for some reason, guess she was right.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
You’re right, Two-Putt, you are a bigger man than I am. I can’t compete with someone who wants to one-up the other kids on the playground. Carry on.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Still tellin stories of your combat gloy little puddles?
I am kind of surprised the VFW has not barred you from coming in with the lies you tell.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
“I can’t compete with someone who wants to one-up the other kids on the playground.”
ROFLMAO!!!
Yes, MtPC, this is a real playground, here…..
April 29th, 2008 at 12:44 pm
As always, after reading Tom’s pathetic response to being bitch-slapped by right-of-center thinkers, I am again left shaking my head.
Again, Tom has proved to us that the public schools in MN are just as bad as Education MN makes them out to be (at least during budget years).
An adult male who sits around a computer all day, trying to scream harder and louder than the rest of the kids, just to get himself noticed.
Seems to be some underlying psychological problems with Tom here…..maybe the DFL can find enough time in their busy committee schedules to continue screwing the taxpayers by implementing some sort of government managed and funded program to aid Tom in his misery.
How can life in Minnesota be so awful and tough if you are a committed Democrat?
Tom will find a way to piss and moan at Republicans for his life’s problems though.
Damn—this is why I don’t want to have kids.
April 29th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Hey Eightputt:
I have shown that it was Al Gore who cheated to win Florida not Bush. You then never made an effort to refute the facts and instead repeated your lies!!!!!
So you liar why don’t you go to your website and post your lies there. This website only cares about the truth.
SOMETHING YOU DON’T KNOW SINCE YOU KEEP LIEING ON YOUR GOLF SCORECARD!!!1

April 29th, 2008 at 1:43 pm
TwoPutz,
Unlike Franken who reported California business activity on his U.S. Senate disclosure form (after saying he had no business activity in California), you have no evidence that Mrs. Coleman has anything to do with the company that markets Blo and Go. Just because she created the product (as indicated by the web site) doesn’t mean she has anything to do with the day to day operations or receives ongoing income from that particular company. Two Putz, for all of your name calling and B.S., you put the RAT in DemocRATs.
April 29th, 2008 at 1:45 pm
Like I said, the worst thing for tommy would be banned from posting, to have his loud mouth unable to spew his type hate here would just send him over the top.
Maybe we can get everyone to hound Michael to do just that.
He was hating life when no one would go read his shit blog, thus, he hangs out here for exposure, take that away and watch him have a Hatch like meltdown.
April 29th, 2008 at 1:48 pm
“Unlike Franken who reported California business activity on his U.S. Senate disclosure form…”
Chris, you don’t KNOW that. Pure speculation, or -if you will – tossin’ crap up against the wall and hopin’ it sticks.
republiCon Ron repeated several times HE didn’t “kow” that; but you do?
GMA(C)B.
republiCon Ron (who has his own Shoddy Paperwork problems, with the FEC) throws crap against the wall, and you’re all over it.
I throw crap on the wall, and you have a hissy fit.
What a wuss.
April 29th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Yeah, you brownshirts are into censorship, aren’t ya, little stones?
April 29th, 2008 at 2:02 pm
I would love to see you gone for the simple fact it would hurt what you want to accomplish there puddles.
You NEED this blog and I would love to see you have to go back to trying to get folks to read your drivel over at the crap blog you tried to run for a while puddles.
Funny, talk about brown shirts and censorship, the only banning I know of going on is MN Pooplius and democRat underground, I believe those are lefty blogs there little puddles.
How’s the “man up” going for you puddles? Did you exchange your combat medals for more real looking set yet?
April 29th, 2008 at 2:05 pm
So, a republicant Senator’s wife shouldn’t have to pay any taxes, or incorporate to do business in a state, but a democratic Senate candidate should?
Good to know how sexist you all are in implying that laws are only intended to be followed by men.
April 29th, 2008 at 2:12 pm
Frank:
I do believe that she does pay taxes. I think the Coleman’s (and somebody correct me if I’m wrong) files a joint return and she reports her income as part of the joint return. Thus the taxes are paid.
Oh lets not forget properly reported and paid on time!

Hey lieing eight putt:
You respond to two different people. You didn’t see where I showed that you don’t know what happened in Florida.
Oh I forgot when the facts aren’t on your side you just lie or ignore it.
What unprofessionalism!

April 29th, 2008 at 2:23 pm
Walter, how do you know that Coleman’s wife reported the income from Blo n Glo on her tax return. More importantly, how do you know that Al Franken did not properly report his income from personal appearances on his tax return. He can choose whether that income is paid to his corporate entity, to him personally, or to anyone other entity that he designates. I have not seen a scintilla of evidence to show that he did not properly report any income. Again, there is as much evidence to support the statement that Coleman’s wife properly reported her income as there is evidence that Franken properly reporter his income. If Carey can issue a letter to California asking they investigate Franken, then any citizen ought to be able to do the same thing for Coleman.
Brodkorb, your headline on this story says that this is a fact-based response. What facts do you have to know that Coleman’s wife did not receive over $1,000 of earned income from this venture. Are you saying that she licensed the rights to this product and that’s not “earned” income? What facts do you have to know that Coleman received no income from letting his name be used to endorse a product? There is probably implied income that he is liable to report for such an endorsement (unless you want to acknowledge that there is zero value to Senator Coleman’s name!).
At this point, nobody has any facts on their side to substantiate any of the accusations against either Coleman or Franken. A pox on both your houses until you get some real facts.
April 29th, 2008 at 2:24 pm
I meant “imputed income” not “implied income.”
April 29th, 2008 at 2:45 pm
Wow. It looks like Angry Al really topped off dolts #1 and 2 during their ‘man up’ strategy session…you two have Al’s finest work dripping out of your ears.
Did Andy give you dolts a cookie on the way out?
April 29th, 2008 at 2:59 pm
I just think that if Laurie Coleman has nothing to hide, she shouldn’t be afraid to release her tax returns from the last six years.
Seems only a guilty person would hide from this request.
What is Laurie Coleman hiding?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:06 pm
Hey – ol’ republiCon Ron challenged Franken to release Franken’s tax records; when’s he gonna call on ol’ Smokescreen to release Coleman’s?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:31 pm
No Kahunas says–
Funny, talk about brown shirts and censorship, the only banning I know of going on is MN Pooplius and democRat underground.
Uh, no, No Kahunas, the only banning ever being done is at Minnesota Rethuglican conventions, remember?
And you wanna know what’s funny about all this Blo and Go stuff? Laurie’s business partner in Blo and Go is the same p.r. flak who pimped Laurie’s Penthouse photos to the Washington Post:
http://media.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/images/I35864-2004Aug26
And you’re saying this guy isn’t above using sexual innuendo to sell Laurie Coleman?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
WOW!!!
I wonder how many Minnesotans are gonna see THAT picture, this election cycle??!?
Oh, and BTW – Did Laurie report that income?
April 29th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
Lots of good Laurie Coleman pics out there on the intenets. Here are just a couple more.

Kind of sad when I think about it…
Republicans seem to always have such hot wives, yet look at what the poor left gets, Pelosi, Clinton, Rowley, Wilde…
Is that what has you so upset puddles?
April 29th, 2008 at 4:19 pm
Sheeple;
From the Washington Post
“Coleman’s Web site, http://www.bloandgo.com, went live this week and her infomercials have started running as well. She doesn’t know how many Blo & Go’s she’s sold so far but “I know all my friends and family have bought them.”
Including her husband, she says. “He’s proud of me. He’s happy as can be — in fact, he’s used it. Every once in a while, he gets out of the shower and uses it.
“Anything that helps the family and pays the bills is good.”
Press secretary LeRoy Coleman (no relation) confirms that the senator is “indeed proud of his wife and proud of the product.”
But after a little thought, he changed his mind about rounding up a quote from his boss — thus depriving us of a public record of Sen. Norman Coleman (R-Minn.), up for reelection this year, commenting on a Blo & Go”.
Sounds like Mrs. Coleman might have contributed more than $1000 to the family budget.
Team Coleman knows this is BIG:
Did Norm Coleman misrepresent his wife’s business income on federal forms?
Is Blo & Go a flop and there is no income from sales?
Do Al and Norm have the same accountant?
Can Team Coleman spin this away?
Will the Sheeple fall in line and not question the Coleman’s possible federal tax problems?
Should the DFL demand an investigation into this?
Wolf Wolf
That’ll do Sheeple that’ll do
April 29th, 2008 at 4:53 pm
Maybe it’s time to ban 2PT from the comments?
April 29th, 2008 at 5:52 pm
“Anything that helps the family and pays the bills is good.â€
And anything that pays the bills should be reported as income. I think it’s time for Norm to come clean with his wife’s income. Thousands of law-abiding Minnesotans dutifully report all their household income when the law requires it. Does Norm Coleman? It appears he doesn’t on his Senate disclosure form. Does he report it on his taxes? Let’s have a look.
Where’s the DFL on this anyway? Is anybody home over there? Hello?
April 29th, 2008 at 6:49 pm
MDE,
Go ahead and attack Coleman’s wife over this baseless B.S. you’re peddling. I can imagine how many professional women will take great offense to this smear. Given Franken’s failure to pay taxes in over 17 states, your party has no credibility on this issue.
April 29th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Chris: I’m not attacking Senator Coleman’s wife.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:18 pm
Poor TPT, he`s havin a really bad day trying to cover for ol’tax cheat and thinking about ol’ audacity of a dope.
April 29th, 2008 at 7:20 pm
Michael,
I was referring to MDE Exposer.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:10 pm
Say, Chris?
So, what you’re sayin’ here, is ol’ Smokescreen has never held a private sector job, and his wife is a failure in private businesss (otherwise, she’d have some income from Blo ‘n Go).
Sounds to me like you’re backin’ a chump.
April 29th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
If TPT has a blog and no one reads it, does it really exist?
April 30th, 2008 at 5:41 am
Hey Flounder (TPT),
Maybe you should rename your blog incorporating your new handle. I think we should all have a contest to help old Flounder out.
Looking forward to the “Name Flounder’s Blog” contest.
Please start submitting your entries.
April 30th, 2008 at 7:33 am
Chris;
The professional women you are referring to pay taxes on their income, why doesn’t Laurie Coleman?
Norm’s senate form does not list any income over $1000 for his wife, so
A) Norm lied on the form
B) Blo & Go is a flop
C) Mrs. Coleman acting was so bad that the studios refused to pay her.
Michael;
I bet you wish you wouldn’t have opened this can of worms(fishing season)
That’ll do Sheeple that’ll do
April 30th, 2008 at 9:59 am
HCDFL,
Maybe Laurie Coleman worked for a company that had so little support that it went bankrupt and couldn’t pay her what she wanted. Oh, wait, that was Al Franken’s employer.
Attacking a candidate’s wife is pretty deranged. Maybe you should look into getting booster shots for rabies.
June 18th, 2008 at 11:15 pm
[...] lefty bloggers attacked Senator Coleman’s wife not that long ago because they must have figured it would help Franken dig his way out of his tax [...]
