AP: “REPUBLICAN BLOGGER HAS AL FRANKEN’S SENATE CAMPAIGN REELING”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 2, 2008

“EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — Senate candidate Al Franken wants to talk about jobs, health care and global warming. Republican blogger Michael Brodkorb wants to talk about Franken’s failure to pay all his income taxes on time.

Guess what everyone is talking about?

From the kitchen table in his tranquil suburban neighborhood, Brodkorb for the last year has used his blog ‘Minnesota Democrats Exposed’ to launch a furious political assault on Franken. He’s labeled the former comedian and liberal commentator a “mean-spirited and un-Minnesotan” candidate who’s running a ‘desperate and ridiculous’ campaign.

That’s routine stuff in the world of political blogging, but in the last two months Brodkorb has scored two direct hits that have the Franken campaign reeling. Brodkorb scooped the traditional media by detailing extensive bookkeeping problems in New York and California that ultimately prompted Franken, this week, to pay about $70,000 in back taxes to 17 states.

The stories have knocked Franken off balance as he prepares to take on Sen. Norm Coleman, in what’s expected to be one of the most expensive and toughest-fought U.S. Senate races this year.” Source: Associated Press, May 2, 2008

Keep up the good work Michael. I think it would also be helpful if you focused on Franken’s lack of military service, in comparison to Coleman’s many decorations for valor in the field. I would also be interested to know about your record of military service, supporting as I’m sure you do, Senator Coleman’s stance on the invasion of Iraq. Also when will Senator Coleman be reconvening the panel on the Oil for Food profiteers? That’s something this country needs to know about.

Congratulations Michael!!! You’ve done a great job.

Thanks for your detective work. This guy is an unhinged liberal who needs to be confronted and defeated decisively.
I enjoyed Minnesota, Ely and Charles L. Sommer wilderness canoe base back when I was an explorer scout.

Awesome job! You are proof that one person can make a difference. Can you come to my state (Maine) to expose a House full of socialist Democrats and fire up the Republican base while you are at it? We sure need it.

Keep up the great work! Franken doesn’t deserve to be in this race. Keep bringing the truth to light.

Hope you’re very proud of yourself. You’re carrying on the great tradition of Lee Atwater, Donald Segretti, and other vermin who bottom-fed their way to fame while their party rotted from within.

I’m ashamed to be a Republican if this is the best we can do.

    Congratulations Michael.

Some people might kick the DFL while they’re down, mocking them for piddling away any chance at beating Coleman, and berating them for choosing Mr. Franken as their senate candidate.

Others might point out how the dems who posted here claimed the Franken issue was a non-story, and how they must now eat crow – probably fragrance-free, fair trade, organic crow.

Yet others might ridicule democrats for having a fast ball down the middle of plate, and instead of going yard with it, they tapped it back to the mound, 1-3 if you’re scoring at home.

    But I won’t do that.

I doubt seriously that you are a repulican. Exposing unhinged idiots like Franken is good from the repulican side and maybe serve as a wake up call that the dems are waaaaaayyy out of touch with thier party and possibly planet earth.

WELL DONE, SIR! Anything that takes that smarmy panty-waist, Al Franken down a peg is just fine with me. For years we’ve had to endure his smug little jabs, and his accusations, both express and implied, that Republicans and conservatives break the law as a matter of course. I’m thrilled that you’ve been able to discover a pattern and practice of potentially illegal acts and to fling the same into his arrogant face.

Keep up the good work, and here’s to watching that unspeakably vulgar, lib homunculus twist in the wind.

So Al Franken made a mistake or his accountants made a mistake with respect to paying taxes.. boo hoo.. big deal! it happens all the time..

GO AL FRANKEN WE LOVE YOU!

Way to go Michael, you are second to none in this state as far as value to exposing this scum that could potentially represent us in Washington. I have no idea what we would do without you!

This is all you have? The love-hate relationship of Al Franken?

Who is out of touch here, with the titlar head of the Republican Party sporting a 28 percent approval rating and the majority of people in this country wanting out of wargasm of terror.
