STAR TRIBUNE SENDS REPORTER TO NEW YORK TO TALK WITH FRANKEN’S ACCOUNTANT
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 2, 2008
“When word broke of the back taxes, the Star Tribune sent a reporter — me — up to New York to find Chanzis and seek comment on the Franken situation.
As reported in Thursday’s paper, I found Chanzis at his Long Island apartment Wednesday evening. But he declined to say anything. To be honest, the modest apartment was not what one might expect for a bookkeeper to the stars.
‘I’ve been told to say, ‘No comment,’‘ Chanzis said, without saying who had instructed him to do so.
Refusing to discuss any mistakes, he added: ‘I’ve been told you have the information you need.’
I made another attempt to get comment on Thursday morning, this time at Chanzis’ office in New York, where platinum records covered the walls.
An office assistant confirmed Chanzis’s employment there but refused to comment.
‘There’s no one here to talk to you,’ she said.
‘We do his accounting,’ she said of the firm’s relationship with Franken.” Source: Star Tribune, May 2, 2008

I am a first time visitor to this blog. Very nice work — you are at the cutting edge of 21st journalism.
I wish we had someone like you in New York to expose the Democrats!

Was Michael B. Brodkorb hired by the StarTribune?
Did Michael B. Brodkorb find Chanzis apartment on Wednesday evening?
What are the clues that it is not Michael Bordkorb but Conrad Wilson?

News Item: In 2007, IRS audits of taxpayers making $100,000 or more – up 14%; for taxpayers making more than $200,000 – up 29%; and for taxpayers with incomes more than $1 million – up 84%. Athletes and entertainers also increasingly under the microscope due to Franken-like reporting problems. Normally, the statute of limitations for IRS and state tax agency audits is 3 years. However, depending upon Federal or individual state tax codes, that number goes up if there is a possibility of false or fraudulent returns being filed. Mr. Chanzis can stonewall the press, but if inquisitive tax auditors from 17 states come calling, he and his client may have to produce a lot of records ASAP and perhaps also locate those pre-2003 tax files. Gosh, it’s hard to be famous.

i would feel like a douche bag if i posted the about the same shit over 25 times a day.
don’t you feel the sleaze just gushing out of your pores? Michael.

Hey Michael,
I am glad you are here exposing democrats dishonesty, especially since it has to do with Frankenfrauds dishonesty. I hope this plagues his campaign for months to come, and he never recovers from it. Due to the fact that Norm Coleman’s seat is a vulnerable seat. This does give me hope that Franken could loose his bid for the senate seat. If that’s the case and when he looses then we can say Al you weren’t smart enough, you weren’t good enough, and dog gone it not enough people liked you to elect you.
Great job MB. Keep up the good work.

Michael,
First visit to your site. Looks good.
I get the idea that “Yoni” is one of “Franken’s Flunkies”. You’re not doing it right if you don’t upset some people.
I am suprised that Al could owe that much money. He doesn’t seem to have had that much success unless he writes a book that has a title naming a person or network that has actually earned some credibility.

Thanks for doing what you are doing. I will be a regular from now on. My father was a Democrat. The current crop of people who say they are Democrats are actually Demon Crats. They do not resemble in any way the people of my fathers era. Thanks again.

Don’t worry what these liberals post or say on here, they have nothing positive to contribute, kinda like their whole agenda.

You go Michael!! Fight the good fight… of course, now you are going to get all the wacko libs commenting. Good luck!
Will be checking back as well… lived in Mpls for 2 years a while back. Loved it.

Hey Yoni…
No sleaze here. Franken in the past few years has been an arrogant SOB trashing republicans all over the place. Tough to take some of his own medicine isn’t it? He wanted to be the next “pure as snow” politician….so this is appropriate.

Do we smell screw up, big time, Al?

I have to laugh at the selective outrage from Yoni, I wonder if she’s ever noticed the sleeze from DUh underground, Salon.bankrupt, Err Amerika or the daily KOS?
May 3rd, 2008 at 9:35 AM
Wade Seeker,
I think you mean the daily KOokS.
May 3rd, 2008 at 9:50 AM
You’re correct on that Chris, I wonder if Frankenfraud is going to claim his taxes are “fake but accurate” LOL.
May 3rd, 2008 at 10:04 AM
Yoni, why do you come here. Channel your hate somewhere else.

It looks like a brighter day in the Twin Cities today. The rain has let up for Cinco de Mayo.
Perhaps Jack Nelson-Pallmeyer and other politicians will all be courting the Hispanic vote this weekend!
Just remember, the land west of the Mississippi River, was purchased by President Jefferson from Napoleon Bonaparte.
It was French! [Taken from the indigeous people, of course.]
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration about a battle of Mexicans over the French, that took place in Puebla, Mexico.
It is celebrated on former French land, in a Spanish-speaking [perhaps Mexican-speaking] community, that also speaks English [perhaps American].
Across the Mississippi to the east was the land that was negotiated, in part, by Benjamin Franklin.
It was a four-way treaty: France, Britian, Spain, United States.
Of course that land also was taken from the indigenous people.
I’m not a liberal who hates America. I’m a liberal who UNDERSTANDS America.
Big Kahuna’s name is from ancient Hawaiian. Big Kahuna is from land that was Russian. That land was also land that was taken from the indigenous people.
Big Kahuna is part of the 49th and 50th states.
There may be a 51st state someday.

This is poor priorities for the use of reporter travel. The Strib should be more aggressive about covering both DFL and Republican conventions. The St Cloud Times has them beat big time in coverage of both 6th District conventions. Worldnet Daily beat the Strib (and also the St Cloud Times) on the story about the Ron Paul Delegates at the 6th District convention.
There are also plenty of stories about what’s happening at the state legislature crying for coverage. I believe the Strib only ran the AP report about the passage of the sex ed bill in the house.
I imagine the campaign is going to be about Al Franken and his tax problems, and Norm Coleman being a chamelion – and possibly about a Bill Clinton problem.
May 3rd, 2008 at 2:15 PM
Yeah, Eva… because the Strib or the company that owns the Strib couldn’t possibly have a beat reporter in New York City already. That would be so very out of the ordinary for a newspaper.
Are you kidding?
May 3rd, 2008 at 3:15 PM
chestnut,
i am officially on chestnut ‘hate watch now’
every time you say someone’s wife is ugly, or dis someone’s mother, I am reposting it on here, just like Michael reposts every article about Franken.
breaking news! “chestnut dissed your momma!”
May 3rd, 2008 at 4:05 PM
Say Yoni, did you pals at DUh underground coach you on that great retort?
May 3rd, 2008 at 4:17 PM
Yoni hates the site so much, she visits it often.
S/he also believes that there will be peace in the middle east some day… s/he looks forward to the day when Israel is wiped off the map.

Hey El Presidente,
I saw our great senator at the Cinco De Mayo parade today. Senator Coleman is a wonderful Senator for MN. He made me proud once again and his office has really helped my friends family with immigration issues. So polite, respectful, and effective. We will work hard for his re-election and this great country,USA.

Marise: “He [Senator Coleman] made me proud ‘once again’”
———
Traditionally, Mexicans didn’t celebrate Cinco de Mayo in the way that North Americans (people in the United States) did. However, things are changing.
My Aunt(ie) was getting tired, and my Cousin had plans to meet someone else tonight, so I’m home for a short time.
