KARE 11: “SENATE REPUBLICAN LEADER DEMANDS APOLOGY FOR FIGHT CHALLENGE”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 8, 2008

“The top Republican in the Minnesota Senate is seeking an apology from Red Wing Democrat Steve Murphy for a challenge Murphy issued to Governor Pawlenty’s communications director.

Senate Minority Leader David Senjem of Rochester put the request in a letter to Senate Majority Leader Larry Pogemiller Wednesday evening, calling Murphy’s behavior ‘beneath the respected standards of the Minnesota Senate.’

During an interview with KARE 11 Tuesday, Murphy took great exception to a statement the governor’s spokesman Brian McClung issued to the media, which implied Murphy wasn’t being truthful with reporters.

‘Mister McClung, if you want to meet me out on the Capitol steps and we’ll talk about your comments,’ Murphy told KARE, ‘I’m more than willing to be there.’” Source: KARE 11, May 7, 2008

I must not be clear about something. Where did Murphy challenge McClung to a fistfight?

My gosh, and liberals get accused of being too politically correct, while the Repuclican party can do nothing but “get offended” by just about anything. Might as well change the name to the GOOP (Grand Old Offended Party). Its like the whiny little kid who wants tattles on everyone to get attention. You know the type from back in grade school.

What’s interesting too is that Murphy is willing to go under oath about the “two out of three” option. If Murphy was indeed told those were his options, I assume you Republicans here would condemn McClung for questioning Murphy’s character. Wouldn’t you guys be mad if someone publicly called you a liar (and especially if it were proven you weren’t lying)? Or does it not go both ways for you guys? Boy will you all have egg on your faces if its proven McClung was the one lying.

On a side note, I have’t seen much coverage on here about the MN GOP’s accounting issues. I once again assume you all will react as harshly to the GOP errors as the Al Franken errors.

“you all have egg on your faces if its proven McClung was the one lying.”

    From YESTERDAY’S Star Tribune.

““By late afternoon, as things settled down, Murphy acknowledged that “it may have been a misunderstanding on my part.””

    Enjoy the face omlette.

It probably was EGG-ACT-LY an event for the media.

PAW CLAWS wanted to score a few jabs [Jabberwocky] and then mostly bug out.

    PAW CLAWS will drop it.
