MURPHY DOSEN’T KNOW IF HE’LL APOLOGIZE FOR CHALLENGING PAWLENTY SPOKESMAN TO A FIGHT
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 8, 2008
“Wednesday’s developments came a day after Pawlenty spokesman Brian McClung and Sen. Steve Murphy, DFL-Red Wing, the other conference committee co-chair, clashed verbally over what Murphy said were conflicting late-night signals by the governor’s office over what Pawlenty wanted.
Senate Minority Leader David Senjem, R-Rochester, complained Wednesday that Murphy had challenged McClung during a TV interview Tuesday to ‘meet him on the Capitol steps.’
Senjem, who said that he didn’t think the incident merited an ethics complaint, asked for Murphy to issue a public apology. Murphy, who seemed surprised by the request, said Wednesday night that he and McClung had resolved their differences.
Asked if he will apologize, Murphy said: ‘I don’t know if it rises to that level. I don’t think it does. I’ll sleep on it.’” Source: Star Tribune, May 7, 2008

In other words he means: My sh!t don’t stink. I didn’t do anything wrong, even though I let the people I represent down by making myself look like a high-tempered prick.
I’m sure Red Wing residents are proud.

Murphy “dosen’t” know because he had a “dose” of PAW CLAWS lack communications skills and judgement.
Do I get a “good catch” honorable mention for this one?

If the last couple sessions show anything, it’s that the Democrats rule the legislature with threats and intimidation of the opposition party. Last year, they violated the minority party’s rights as they ram-rodded those bullshit tax bills through at the 11th hour. This year, they’re threatening fist fights.
Murphy doesn’t need to look like a high-tempered prick. He flat our IS a high-tempered prick. It’s the “prick” part that defines him as a model Democrat.

MBB/MDE-IRS quotes the StarTribune: “…were conflicting late night signals by the governor’s office over what Pawlenty wanted.”

So…this makes Murphys behavior less objectionable in what way?
May 8th, 2008 at 12:27 pm
Chestnut your ignorance is showing once again…
No minority rights were violated last session and your just mad that your party is out of power in both bodies. If you want to talk about a prick look to Rep. Seifert, he’s pretty consistant at being an ass.
May 8th, 2008 at 12:34 pm
If you say so Nimble (but certainly not quick). But apparently you missed the Democrats changing the rules mid-debate and quashing the minority party’s right to speak, debate and offer amendments.
The violated about every rule and right in the house last May… of course, they were trying to ram-rod those shit bills in the dark of night, because every one of them represented a bald-faced lie about the promises they made to get elected.
DFL: Dumb F’ing Liars.
Marty Seifert pisses you off because he’s telling the truth about the lawless pricks in charge in the Legislature.
Democrats this session passed a host of bills that will raise the cost of living in this state. We’ll see just how long those willful dipshits are in charge.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:00 pm
So did they fight?
May 8th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
I’ll fight him. I’ve seen him, he can’t fight his way out of a wet paper bag.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Murphy is another DFL’er in a long line of no-talent ass clowns.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:19 pm
Murphy is a smoker. He’s bound to run out of steam within the first few minutes, so if you make it through that you should be able to get to him.

Tell little stone’s 80 year old Uncle that McKlingon is a fake veteran, and then watch McKlingon get whupped by a guy with a cane!!!
May 8th, 2008 at 1:33 pm
McClung would be well advised to take this up right now.
As our own fake veteran, dolt #1 points out Democrats have a history of cowardly sucker punching guys.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:40 pm
Well! “Right” on time!!!
little stone’s 80 year-old uncle shows up, and links to a picture of his hero!!!
Way to go, NotSoSwiftly!!!
Didya get enough prunes this mornin’?
Oh – ya still haven’t paid off your check, at the bar!
Too bad little stones isn’t old enough to drive; ye could take ya there….

According to http://www.KARE11.com:
But the Governor’s spokesman, Brian McClung, sent a statement to KARE 11 and other media outlets, saying that Murphy wasn’t on the level.
“Sen. Murphy’s comments are untrue,” McClung wrote, “This is just the latest example of erratic behavior by Sen. Murphy.”
———————————-
The Governor is sending out:
“…CONFLICTING LATE-NIGHT SIGNALS BY THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OVER WHAT PAWLENTY WANTED…”
……………..[about what?]…………..
-1. A hamburger and fries?
-2. Exactly how wide is a wide-stance at MSP?
-3. Did he really crash an ATV into a tree?
-4. Does this transportation bill have a gas tax?
SCRUTINY IS HERE.
McClung sent out a statement to KARE 11 and other media outlets.
McClung did not just deal with the co-chairperson of the committee. McClung upped the ante, and also opted to deal with the MEDIA.
It seems to me that Pawlenty/McClung want their PIZZA PEPPERY, BUT NOT TOO HOT.
There are some potential cures….
Have Murphy, McClung, and others, settle their conflicting signals, during the time and close to the place of the GOP National Convention.
May 8th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
Chestbutt, again your full of shit. No rules were broken in the House last year and the minority was just angry because they legally cut off debate. If Rep. Seifert had his way he would talk for six hours and because Democrats actually like to get some work done, they didn’t put up with his usual shit.
May 8th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
That’s a pretty good joke Nimble (but not so quick). Do you tell that one at parties? Does it bomb?
May 8th, 2008 at 2:53 pm
Poor tommy, aparently he is upset I have ruined his hang out spot.
Funny thing is puddles we are not far apart on age, just I took a little better care of myself, not a fat lazy lying piece of shit like you.
Feel free tommy to tell me where to meet you, you never show anyhow. You not only have lied about your service record, you are a total coward who hides behind his computer. Have you come up with new names to post under to make it seem like others agree with you tommy?
Being that Sean and Zack had to ask you to stop doing that or they would delete all your comments.
Tommy, AKA puddles, we get the point that you REALLY want to be someone important in the MN political landscape, but my boy, you are just too dumb and full of anger.
You are the type of coward who pushes button and trys to get folks going, but I have no doubt you are the first to involve the law once you get your ass handed to you. Cowards like you are consistant that way.
I never minded much arguing the points of discussion puddles, but more than once, you turned it personal and in fact told me one night to come meet you at the VFW and you would have me “lick you jump boots”. I showed, you did not. I have been there 3 times since and they tell me you are not in so often anymore. The same young lady you like to tease Swiftee about not paying a tab, funny thing she had to say about you tommy.
Yes, I did bring an 85 year old vet to meet you as well. No cane involved puddles, but it is funny you bring him up because I think you also know he talked your posting up at the VFW as well. Seems not too many of the vets there think much of a guy who would write the stuff you do.
So I get it, I upset your little world and now you are mad.
Maybe you should not play a tough guy and try to call people out, sometimes you run into one who will take you up on it puddles.
Now go lay by your dish boy.
May 8th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
If I ever hear Big Kahuna talking about the fact they they have liquor [/licker/ a "licker" of jump boots] at the VFW I’ll be sure to exercise some caution.
May 8th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
What? Has the GOP become cowardly leftists now, linguini spined? Instead of McClung whining like a little girl, Murphy should have been taken up on his offer, hell I’ll take him up on it…and subsequently beat the ever mother lovin’ shit out of him. A free beating on an enemy of freedom and the chance is passed up? Instead whining and hiding behind a skirt…the GOP is doomed (and should be if this is the best we have) if they can’t take care of a dastard like Murphy.
Since many of the GOP, (e.g. Pawlenty, Coleman) are RINO’s, we should just hope they do get flushed and then we can try to rebuild with real conservatives like Seifert, Jeffords etc.
May 8th, 2008 at 4:04 pm
Sorry Nimble, Seifert didn’t really talk that much like you say. The DFL just can’t manage the legislature and rammed over 70% of the state budget through in less than 6 hours. They had from January through May to do their job and flubbed up.
May 8th, 2008 at 4:07 pm
Phil sounds like a real dumbass. DO you want Jim Jeffords, former Vermont Senator to run? Or Sue Jeffers? She couldn’t get elected dog-catcher.
May 8th, 2008 at 4:29 pm
New Ulm Ned (your name is really Ned? and you admit it?!) = part of the problem…that’s the best you got, that I misspelled Jeffers name? Hide the computer before your mommy gets home and kicks you out of the basement…. Jeffers is a real conservative, but you’re right since she can’t get elected “dog catcher”, we need to keep electing RINO’s because Lord knows we aren’t sliding down the socialist path fast enough with those in power now…Bush, Pawlenty etc..
May 8th, 2008 at 5:09 pm
Phil,
Who do you propose we run, Ron Paul?
May 8th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
Phil,
Marty Seifert – Hail, Sir Punisher – a “real” conservative?
Ron Carey has to write an LTE (Letter to the Editor) for him.
Seifert represents those who live on former [French] land that Napoleon Bonaparte of France sold to President Thomas Jefferson in a transaction called the Louisiana Purchase.
[Before the French claimed the land the indigenous people were on the land.]
Now Marty pontificates about immigration/English. Especially when EVERY SCHOOL DAY a MINNESOTA SCHOOL BUS PASSES THROUGH A FOREIGN COUNTRY, TWICE A DAY, FROM ANGLE INLET, MN TO WARROAD, MN.
May 8th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
El Presidente
I’m trying to determine which is more pathetic: your weak attempts at humor or Nimble’s grasp of grammar and spelling.
It’s a toss-up right now, with only a few prencincts yet to report…
May 8th, 2008 at 6:48 pm
Phil made what I considered to be some reactionary comments about rebuilding the [Repubican] party with “real conservatives,” in his post #20.
I don’t think that the fact that a USA/MN public school bus goes through a FOREIGN country twice a day is something that Phil is prepared to grapple with. [It seems to me that Norm Coleman is on a sub-committee that might deal with problems that effect, students, passports, boundaries, trade, etc.]
Many times with reactionaries rant about “real” conservatives, or “real” Americans, or “real” whatever they rant about, they don’t have much of an idea/significance of the historical, sociological, tribal, etc. nature of what they are ranting about.
Ben Franklin and three other Americans negotiated the Angle Inlet shortly after the Revolutionary War in a pre-treaty.
May 9th, 2008 at 10:35 am
Chestbutt,
No actually my jokes go over much better then the folksy crap Rep. Seifert spews out on a daily basis.
