There is a difference between the DFL and the GOP. If at the end of the audit process the FEC has determined that Ron Carey has broken the law, most Republicans will certainly say it’s not a good idea for him to continue as chairman. Your party knows Franken has repeatedly had serious legal problems and you’re going to run him anyway.

It’s sort of like the difference between Nixon and Clinton. The Republican party circled the wagon and shot within (ie. told Nixon to resign). The Democrats circled the wagon and fired at the people charging the wagon (ie. defended Clinton to the very end). It’s exactly the same thing you do every day, Two Putz.

Michael’s drip-drip-drip on Franken, only opens up the drip-drip-drip on republiCon Ron. But, republiCon Ron actually has FEC Reports to peruse.

Keep in mind Arnie Carlson didn’t exactly enter the race late. In 1990 he had run for the Republican endorsement and lost in the primary. He had already run a statewide campaign. And even before he was made the Republican candidate for governor there was movement to do a write in campaign for him. Furthermore when the Repbulican party was selecting in 1990 just like the DFL was selecting in 2002 with a short window both parties looked for a candidate with instant credibility that can win a state wide race.

the candidates that get in will run in the primary and if they’re credible will have a few months of time to campaign and win.

Let’s recap.

It comes to light that Al Franken’s employer, Air America radio, has been paying him (Al) with money it bilked a children’s charity of.

Al says he didn’t know anything about it.

A lengthy legal document surfaces, detailing how the charity will be reimbursed, with Al’s signature on it.

Al then says he didn’t read this lengthy legal document, a document that had a financial impact on him, before he signed it.

Al incorporates a tax shelter. It comes to light that this tax shelter is completely bungled and owes taxes and fines in at least 17 states.

Al says it’s all a big surprise to him.

So, Paul; if Al isn’t unscrupulous, then he’s one of the stupidest people I’ve ever heard of.

Which is it?

I, for one would be happy to see JNP on the Democrat ticket. Campaigning an unabashed socialist openly and honestly would be a real novelty, and a treat to watch.

Yeah, except that he’s a socialist who hates America.

Your guy Norm Coleman will lose, and you will have been credited with bringing a real Democrat with political courage who people can vote for that they can really believe in into the Senate.

Even if the DFL robots endorse another candidate, he’ll run in the primary. Its all about Al.

As is, J. Gauthier is joins Monifa Benison on the list of folks Franken has thrown under the bus.

If this is wrong, it lessens the impact of other stories you will run.

Al is one of the weakest candidates they could have run. Please declare a truce until it is too late for them to replace Al.
