MDE EXCLUSIVE: WHO IS J. GAUTHIER? FINALLY, AN ANSWER
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 13, 2008

This post on Sunday evening generated numerous leads on the identity of J. Gauthier. Earlier this afternoon, I spoke with an employee at 90 Riverside Drive, the address of Al Franken’s New York residence, and I was informed that a Jason Gauthier worked there until December 2007.
A phone call and e-mail sent to a Jason Gauthier were not returned before this post was published.
Since Team Franken hasn’t revealed the identity of J. Gauthier, I wouldn’t have been able to track Jason Gauthier if I hadn’t published this post on Sunday.
Two-months after the story broke about Al Franken’s failure to provide workers’ compensation insurance in the state of New York, we finally know who is J. Gauthier.
I would expect numerous updates on this story throughout the day, so please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information.

Correct.

Come on, give me some credit. I’m the guy who suggested J. Gauthier might be the doorman to Franken’s residence in NYC.
I rule.
May 13th, 2008 at 4:18 PM
He gave $250 to Hillary. He’s no doorman.
May 13th, 2008 at 4:26 PM
Maybe he got the $250 from some monks.

Great investigative work on your behalf, MDE.
Keep up the great work and as always, stay vigilant.

Heckuva job, Michael!!!

A lot of people have been giving Hillary more than they can afford… why not a doorman… Just kidding.
I’m still going to guess he works as some sort of lackey around the co-op though. Would be more proof that a rich, socialist snob, asshole like Franken will throw anyone under the bus… and he’s too damned important to know the name of folks who pick up his laundry.
May 13th, 2008 at 4:47 PM
Correct, he may work there.
May 13th, 2008 at 5:19 PM
Say, dolt #1?
Doormen get to wear really spiffy uniforms. You could pin your E-bay medals on and wear ‘em every day…tell all the tennents about your war heroics ‘n’ stuff.

You’re a sick man, NotSoSwiftly.
Fortunately, people recognize that you’re the base, so they’re trending and voting DFL.
May 13th, 2008 at 5:36 PM
Wow, a doorman, we knew that pretty much the day after this ‘mysterious’ name brought to our attention.
thought you’d cover something more newsworthy, like Coleman taking money from DCI Group, who actively lobbied for Myanmar’s junta. maybe tomorrow.

It seems to me that I answered Swiftee [using the Spanish language] about a concern that he had about privacy not to very long ago.
[Sometime previous to that Swiftee wrote me using the Spanish language.]
What gives?
May 13th, 2008 at 5:54 PM
I knew it… he’s a LYING LIAR!
May 13th, 2008 at 5:57 PM
Hey Mikey, I just watched a nice segment about you on Special Report. Good Job and keep up the good work.
May 13th, 2008 at 6:07 PM
Chestnut,
El president wrote door-attendant that day [in response to your doorman].
May 13th, 2008 at 7:27 PM
So, based on Michael’s earlier blockbuster reporting I can only conclude:
Al Franken worked under the pseudonym J. Gauthier as a door man.
I hope you will be launching a full fledged investigation into the tax filing status of J Gauthier.
May 13th, 2008 at 8:03 PM
Too bad “Gauthier” isn’t a palidrome [a word, phrase, verse, or sentence that reads the same backward or forward]. For example: Dot saw I was Tod.
Nevertheless “Reithaug” is an interesting word.

Congrats on your segment on Fox. It’s great to see all the work you’ve done on Franken. He’s toast.

Great now J. Gauthier can verify Franken’s story that Franken never received the certified letter. This will be good.
I can’t imagine J Gauthier would discard all mail of a client , let alone certified mail. But if he did, then why the wall of silence? They could say (legitimately this time) that it was J Gauthier’s fault – he forgot to tell Franken about the certified mail he accepted for him and the dozens of mail pieces he received from the New York authorities. If Gauthier discarded all mail, did the ad directing donations to the same address result in the loss
of hundreds of campaign donations? Not likely.

It seems to me this is what Just Sayin’ is writing:
1. Can’t imagine JG would discard ALL mail
2. Can’t imagine JG discards ALL mail ESPECIALLY CERTIFIED mail
3. If JG did discard ALL, & ESPECIALLY CERTIFIED why is there SILENCE from Franken?
4. Franken could blame JG for not telling him (AF) about the CERTIFIED MAIL that was accepted by JG on behalf of AF, and also the dozens of pieces of OTHER MAIL.
5. If JG DISCARDED ALL MAIL, were the donations to the address also lost?
6. Just Sayin’ does not think that losing the certified letter(s) but, and also LOSING the DONATIONS is very likely.
It seems to me that the AFOREMENTIONED is just as COMPLICATING as my bringing up the fact that “Reithaug” is not a palindrome of Gauthier but, nevertheless is an interesting word.

Swiftee,
One of my close relatives was a doorman/door attendent [goes by many titles] and wore a “spiffy uniform” as you call it.
My relative was in one of those society photos in one of the newspapers of a medium-sized city, insofar as world cities go.
The “spiffy uniformed” person was holding the door for a “spiffy society” person, documented by a photographer from a newspaper.
[I may know more about being a spiffy doorman than your think.]
