MDE EXCLUSIVE: WHO IS J. GAUTHIER? FINALLY, AN ANSWER #2
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 14, 2008
As I wrote earlier today, two-months after the story broke about Al Franken’s failure to provide workers’ compensation insurance in the state of New York, we finally know that J. Gauthier is Jason Gauthier.
In two separate phone calls to employees at Al Franken’s New York residence at 90 Riverside Drive, I confirmed that a Jason Gauthier was a former employee. I also confirmed the procedure for the handling of certified mail.
The procedure is to call the residence to see if someone is available to sign for the certified mail. If nobody is home to sign for the certified mail, the doorman signs for the letter. According to the employees I spoke with, the certified mail is given directly to the addressee and not just delivered to the address or slid under the door.
I made numerous phone calls this afternoon and evening, trying to contact the Jason Gauthier that worked at 90 Riverside Drive. Earlier this afternoon, I made a phone call to a Jason Gauthier in New York. After telling the person who answered the phone my name, the phone was hung-up. I quickly called back, but was then told that Jason Gauthier was “not at his desk.” I left a voice-mail message and sent an e-mail, but I have yet to receive a response.
If the Jason Gauthier that I contacted today in New York and sent an e-mail to requesting a comment is the same Jason Gauthier that worked at 90 Riverside Drive, then an interesting a pattern is developing.
Monifa Benison never returned my phone calls or e-mails about her perplexing letter to California Franchise Tax Board. There is no evidence that Ms. Benison spoke to media. Franken’s accountant, Allen Chanzis, told a reporter for the Star Tribune, that he was instructed to say “no comment.” I can’t find an example of Chanzis directly speaking with the media.
Will the Jason Gauthier that worked at 90 Riverside Drive follow the example of Benison and Chanzis and not directly answer questions or return media calls? We’ll see.
Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

Stuart Samlley could have answered the question in a few seconds.
May 14th, 2008 at 4:49 am
I for one believe the management of Franken’s residence and not Franken. Procedure was probably followed and Franken is lying.
Can’t the DFL find some Burmese/Myanmar guy upset that Norm accepted money from DCI or whoever? I’m sure he would be a better candidate than Franken. The Burmese guy would probably cause a big scene if he discovered cocaine use on his workplace – instead of joining in. He would have a respect for english as an instrument of communication and governance instead of a tool to insult and demean for profit.
Of course they’d have to explain to him that Democrats spend like robots, think short-term for themselves, and hate half of Minnesota for limiting spending and being patriotic.
May 14th, 2008 at 6:19 am
@ Just Satin’ – don’t fool yourself. You’re not anywhere near half; and your small tent is getting smaller by the day.
You’re not patriotic; you’re the enemy within. Fortunately, with Boy Blunder’s illegal UnPatriotic Act, after you’re rounded up and sent on a “secret vacation”, we won’t even have to afford you the courtesy of a habeas-inspired court hearing – Gonzales said you don’t have that “right”.
But that’s ok; you’ll be with your pals.
May 14th, 2008 at 7:13 am
Even if we aren’t 50% throw in some much vaunted patriotic Democrats you’re always talking about and there you go. Is that second paragraph a foreshadowing of what’s to come under a Democrat win in 2008?
May 14th, 2008 at 7:46 am
You’re not patriotic; you’re the enemy within.
This defines perfectly the nutjob left’s view of anyone who isn’t on board with their nutjob agenda. You’re not an American with a different opinion, you’re the enemy. You are someone to be destroyed, not persuaded.
You are an idiot.

Wow, twopud. I wasn’t aware that foreign terrorists in Gitmo had the same rights as American citizens. Are you telling us something about the Constitution that we don’t know about?
And what’s this non-patriotism you’re bitching about?
May 14th, 2008 at 8:07 am
Dogbreath, it’s the noted republiCon, ‘Berto Gonzo, that claimed the Constitution contains no “right” of habeas for American Citizens.
And if the bootlickin’ rightwingnutjobs would bother to check, is the allegedly “conservative” inJustice Dept. of Bush The Lesser that believes it can not only take your guns, it can take you, your spouse, your children, and any property of yours it wants, and you have NO RIGHT to challenge the government’s actions in court.
All they have to do is question your “patriotism”, and off you go.
That’s where we’re at, NOW.
I’m just feedin’ the paranoia the bootlickers live with.
Except in this case, you never know.
Pay no attention, to that van parked down the street, dogbreath.
May 14th, 2008 at 8:54 am
Puddles, your the one that seems paranoid. You need to stop smoking that crap you brought home from Korea and do something productive. Go mow some lawns or something…

I’m sure the conversation went like this:
Hi, I’m Michael Brodkorb, no talent, slime hurler that is so in love with people like Larry Craig that I will go to great lengths to smear anyone calling about a letter you may have signed for.
J. Gauthier: I have better things to do. Get a life.

Al Sr. and Al Jr. were walking hand in hand along the beach one day when it started to rain. Al Jr. looked to Al Sr. and said “ Why does it rain?” Al Sr. replied “Rain is just God crying.”
“Why is God crying?” Said Al Jr.
Al Sr. bent down and looked little Al Jr. in the face and said “It must have been something you did.”
May 14th, 2008 at 10:19 am
or maybe the convo went like this:
Hi a run a blog in Minnnesota and want to use you to incriminate your former employer, will you please help me come up with bullshit that will further my non-stories and I can get paid by organizations which i will not name because I am fraud….
click….

Puddles pushes snow in the off season, not mowing lawns, that might require some sort of schooling for him.
Say puddles, how’s the whole fake military record going for you? Sure, you served, but not really in the capacity you seem to like to cliam?
Poor tommy is a paid lacky of the DFL. Not much, but he gets a taste. Thus why he posts at so many blogs, he is trying to get attention and be someone important so he can ask for more money from his political party.
He is nothing more than a political opportunist of the worst kind. Most likely does not even believe half the crap he pushes, just needs the exposure.
What puddles, did you have to go cry to Michael about my post from yesterday?
Seems you are fine going after family memebers of political figures, but bring up your family and you go off crying foul.
You are a cowards coward puddles.

When dolt #1 puts on his K-Mart battle fatigues and festoons his tunic with his E-bay medal collection he thinks he’s Captain America.
Unfortunately, the people he’s chosen to side with are more interested in destroying every last vestage of what makes America great.

“el p”? Line 3.
May 14th, 2008 at 10:53 am
Two Putz,
If the Patriot Act is illegal, why hasn’t the Supreme Court ruled it unconstitutional in the nearly seven years since it was enacted?
As my mom used to say — you’re so full of bull, your eyes are brown.
May 14th, 2008 at 10:55 am
The Patriot Act isn’t illegal, but it’s unjust.
Other things that have been legal
Slavery
Wife-beating
Segregation

“Unjust” in today’s liberal dictionary means: Something I disagree with. Nothing more.

The problem is Michael behaves better than the average journalist. He identifies himself. He tries to get the person who he plans to do a post about a chance to explain himself.
Eight Putt:
Hades Corpus has been suspended before (President Lincoln). The ruling was since the detainees at Gitmo were unlawful combantants they didn’t have the right to get habes corpus in part because they weren’t US Citizens. That is a major difference than saying US Citizens don’t have the right to Habes Corpus. But of course you like to tell your fibs.

That’s our puddles.
He does not mind omitting a few facts to get his point across.
Which says much to what Swiftee likes to ride him about. Seems old puddles will even lie about his service record to try and sell his ideas.
Come to think of it he has also been caught on other bogs using multiple names and writing “you should see what twoputttommy wrote at…”
Now just how much respect can you give a guy like that? Never mind, it is puddles we are talking about.
May 14th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
“Come to think of it he has also been caught on other bogs using multiple names and writing “you should see what twoputttommy wrote at…”
Are you talking about his appearance on DU?
I saw that too…pfft.
I can’t wait for the book “My life with TwoputtTommy.” By Thomas Johnson.
Chap. 1 War hero? Nah, just doing my part.
“There we were, behind enemy lines. Moonlight glinted softly on the Congressional Medal of Honor that the President had pinned on my chest just two short weeks ago.”
Chap. 2 Twoputt takes to the political stage
“It was three in the morning when the phone rang. ‘Huh? What? What’s the problem, Al?’…Yup, it was AlGore calling for advice again.”

Don’t say you weren’t warned….
NotSoSwiftly will be the first “offered the free vacation.”
That’s ok; he’s a sick man. Society will be better off without him.
May 14th, 2008 at 9:41 pm
Tommy, we’ve been through this no less than a dozen times, you limp-dick gas bag.
Gonzalas was absolutely correct. The Constitution calls habeas corpus a “privilege” not a “right.” Moreover, the Constitution prescribes circumstances by which that privilege can be suspended. Rights cannot be suspended. That’s why they’re called “rights.”
I realize your too stupid to understand this very simple concept. But I thought I’d repeat the facts one more time, lest someone get the idea that you have the faintest fucking idea what you’re talking about.
May 14th, 2008 at 9:45 pm
P.S., nobody ever questioned Democrats patriotism. They questioned their judgment… particularly the judgment that the U.S. should surrender to Islamic Fascists, and that America is at fault for terrorism.
Democrats then made up the line about having had their Patriotism questioned, as to divert attention from the fact that the policies they pursue weaken America.
More myths, spin, hate and bullshit from the Left.

@ everybody:

Habeas Corpus
habeas corpus n. Law A writ issued to bring a party before a court to prevent unlawful restraint. [<Med. Lat., you should have the body] Source: AHD
The basic premise behind habeas corpus is that you cannot be held against your will without just cause. To put it another way, you cannot be jailed if there are no charges against you. If you are being held, and you demand it, the courts must issue a writ of habeas corpus, which forces those holding you to answer as to why. If there is no good or compelling reason, the court must set you free. It is important to note that of all the civil liberties we take for granted today as a part of the Bill of Rights, the importance of habeas corpus is illustrated by the fact that it was the sole liberty thought important enough to be included in the original text of the Constitution.

@ chestnuts: here’s the Constitution, explained at a level you might – MIGHT – be able to comprehend. If you can’t, ask your bus driver (yours is the short bus, so he don’t have a long route…)

Tommy, dipshit wind bag,
Here’s exactly what the Constitution says:
“The privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it.”
Again, you fucking fat ass moron… it is a PRIVILEGE… NOT A RIGHT. A PRIVILEGE can be suspended. A “right” CANNOT.
THERE IS NO RIGHT TO HABEAS CORPUS IN THE U.S. CONSTITUTION. THERE NEVER HAS BEEN.
I know this is a subject too complex for that stupid, crack rotted lump of fat between your ears, but those are the facts.
You goddam dumb gas bag.
May 15th, 2008 at 10:26 am
Chestnut: “A PRIVILEGE can be suspended. A ‘RIGHT’ cannot.”
——————
Perhaps the relatives of Chestnut are not of Japanese descent, and were not living on the west coast of America during WWII, and were not USA citizens.
Perhaps the relatives of Chestnut were not “owned” by someone else during the time shortly before Abraham Lincoln. [He may also have had something to do with Habeas Corpus.]
Perhaps the relatives of Chestnut were not “taken” along with the land, by the Mexican-American War, the Spanish-American War, the Filipino-American War, etc.
May 15th, 2008 at 10:43 am
Right, el p, FDR committed an atrocity against citizens of Japanese (and German) decent in WWII when he rounded them up, stole their property and put them in concentration camps. The U.S. paid restitution for the stolen property.
FDR suspended their habeas corpus privilege… which is consistent with what I wrote. A privilege can be suspended, a right cannot.
Slavery had nothing to do with Habeas Corpus. And you don’t know your history very well with regard to the U.S. purchase of territory from Mexico in 1848… following hostilities… but purchased, nonetheless (for $18 million).
The idea that Mexico had any land “taken” is hilarious.
May 16th, 2008 at 12:02 am
Yes, I know there was “purchase,” but it is a far cry from “hilarious.”
Hawaii, Guam, the Philippines, American Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, Cuba-Guantanamo Bay-Gitmo, plus other places listed under “insular areas.”
Then there is the history of Texas.
I may understand the Latin American thinking a little better than you think that I do. It is good to see things from the perspective of the other.
That is part of the reason why I occasionally listen to a broad spectrum of commentators in America and abroad when I do some limited travelling.
If one reads the transcripts of the Senate during some of the debates, one will find that there were Senators who argued against American involvement and expansion in the Pacific Islands.
May 16th, 2008 at 8:15 am
Yeah, basic facts include that the Western states once belonged to Spain and then Mexico, but were wholly undeveloped and generally unpopulated by either country. In 1847, there were fewer than 20,000 people in California, and half of them were Americans… who led a rebellion against the Mexican governors there, and were eventually backed by the U.S. government. Following hostilities, Mexico sold its rights to the territory to the U.S. for about $18 million.
In Texas, a hostile Mexican government and an army led by Santa Anna had its ass kicked south of the Rio Grande. The people of Texas established an independent Republic, which later joined the U.S.
The perspective of the Latin Americans means jack shit. When I hear this bologna that “the borders crossed us,” I laugh. It’s like blaming my real estate agent for taking my house away 8 years after I sold it to someone else.

An American school bus crosses the Canadian-USA international border every school day transporting students from Angle Inlet, MN to Warroad, MN.
WWII was fought against Japan yet, many Japanese own land and businesses in our 50th State (Hawaii) which Japan attacked at Pearl Harbor.
WWII was fought against the Germans yet, Germans were the most populous group that settled in Minnesota. There are German festivals, and festivals that celebrate the Germanic languages [includes other countries].
WWII was fought against the Italians yet, Italian restaurants are an integral part of Minnesota heritage.
Christopher Columbus was an Italian sailing for Spain.
Laredo and Nuevo Laredo celebrate George Washington. The representatives dressed as they were in the time of George Washington, meet at the mid-point of the bride over the Rio Grande.
If it is possible, it is better to try to understand and try to get along.
Norm Coleman did not pass his physical exam to serve in the military at a time when many were going to the Republic of South Vietnam.
He was an anti-war protestor and it is said that he went on a crash diet. That is part of what Jesse Ventura needles him about.
Be careful what you might write that you laugh at, or what you might write that you think is so hilarious.
