MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “YOU’VE GOT MAIL; FRANKEN’S NY NEIGHBOR CASTS DOUBT ON FRANKEN’S CLAIMS”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 14, 2008

St. Paul- Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey today issued the following statement after new information was revealed about Franken workers’ compensation scandal in New York.

“At long last, Al Franken must stop insulting the intelligence and good judgment of the people of Minnesota. He knows who signed for his certified mail. He knows where his mail went. And he knows that he can answer the questions about why he ignored the state of New York Workers’ Compensation Board for more than five years. Al Franken has known since March who signed for his certified mail that notified him of his $25,000 fine for not paying his workers’ compensation premiums and he remained silent. The time for this silence and gagging of people who have information about these matters must come to an end.”

Franken Neighbor Raises Doubts About Franken’s Claim That He Never Got His Mail:

“Mrs. Blyth said that to her knowledge in the 37 years that she has lived at 90 Riverside Drive, she has never failed to get ‘a package, certified mail, a Federal Express or UPS delivery that I was supposed to receive.’ Mrs. Blyth said that she hasn’t had any trouble receiving her regular mail and described the mail service as ‘very good.’” (Minnesota Democrats Exposed Blog, http://www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com/, May 14, 2008)

“Mrs. Blyth did speak with a doorman at 90 Riveside Drive and inquired about certified mail being lost. Mrs. Blyth told me that the doorman answered with ‘It would be a first [if someone’s certified mail was lost]. I never heard of that happening before.’” (Minnesota Democrats Exposed Blog, http://www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com/, May 14, 2008)

“On a separate subject, a source with knowledge of the workings at 90 Riverside Drive, informed me today that a Franken family member still resides at his residence.” (Minnesota Democrats Exposed Blog, http://www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com/, May 14, 2008)

Flashback: Franken Claims He Never Saw Multiple Notices About His Failure To Pay Workers’ Comp.lived in Minneapolis for the past few years and did not know about the state’s attempts to reach them in New York City, he said.” (Kevin Duchschere, “Franken Faces Penalties For Lack Of Workers’ Insurance,” Star Tribune, March 5, 2008) “Campaign spokesman Andy Barr said that neither Franken nor his wife, Franni, were aware of the matter before Tuesday. They have

Blogger Confirms Identity Of J. Gauthier:

“This post on Sunday evening generated numerous leads on the identity of J. Gauthier. Earlier this afternoon, I spoke with an employee at 90 Riverside Drive, the address of Al Franken’s New York residence, and I was informed that a Jason Gauthier worked there until December 2007.” (Minnesota Democrats Exposed Blog, http://www.minnesotademocratsexposed.com/index.php, May 13, 2008)

    Yes, pretty obvious.

Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey today issued the following statement:

“At long last, Al Franken must stop insulting the intelligence and good judgment of the people of Minnesota.”
    —————
DID Ron Carey REALLY MEAN THAT part about the collective “INTELLIGENCE and GOOD JUDGMENT of the PEOPLE of Minnesota.”

My many friends, colleagues, co-workers, etc. [and I], comprise part “of the PEOPLE OF MINNESOTA” who Ron Carey states have “intelligence and good judgment.”

They may have good judgment, but they have lousy taste in political candidates. And if they continue supporting Al Franken, it may behoove them to remove themselves from the gene pool.

The rest of us don’t want any of that slop contaminating the rest of it.

    My, my, my.

He Whom Ducks Questions (republiCon Ron) demanding someone else answers questions.

And some folk wonder why the small tent keeps getting smaller.

So, a known partasain blogger finds a known partisan writer who lives in Als building, and gets her to swear to the fact that she has gotten every piece of mail she has ever recieved.

The only thing weaker than the original post is Ron Carey making a press release out of it.

The notion that Al Franken didn’t receive any of 12 certified letters sent to his address is absurd. I’ll quote Hillary Clinton: “It requires a willing suspension of disbelief.”

However, a “willing suspension of disbelief” is something very familiar to Democrats. The suspend their disbelief every time they support a liberal policy, and every time they vote for a Democrat, thinking that those who’ve destroyed the system can somehow fix it.

Give me a fucking break. Al Franken knew he needed to pay workers comp. He chose not to. He received the warnings from the State of New York that he was in violation of the law. He chose to ignore them.

The same way he ignored his conscience when robbing a children’s charity of millions to pay for his hate show on Air(head)America.

It’s a good thing that Al’s got Fatman and Ritalin Boy covering his back.

  8. Swiftee Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 9:28 AM

Once again, it’s the lie that inflicts the mortal wound, not the action.

Ya have to wonder if Al doesn’t blush bright red when he looks at the cover of his book; it’s become more of a biography than a scold.

Say, “el p”? If you say so.

  9. el presidente Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 9:59 AM

    Swiftee: “…;it’s become more of a biography…”
    Chestnut: “Give …break.”
    ———————————–
Swiftee – Perhaps you mean autobiography.
    auto=self; bio=life; graphy= writing

Chestnut – Perhaps you could give yourself a break, and take up singing. Marianne ["All day, all night, Marianne; Down by the seaside siftin' sand..."] are fairly easy folk-type songs.

  10. HCDFL Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:22 AM

What if the doorman was (is) a Republican Operative?
What if he was paid to get dirt on Franken?
What if he turned the certified letters over to a third party?
It does seem that his employment coincides with the dates the letters were sent(2003-2007).
So, to recap all we know is that J Gauthier signed for at least one of the NYWC certified letters.
What we don’t know is what he did with that letter.
    Michael;
Can you supply proof that Al Franken or any other family members signed for the NYWC letters from 2003-2007?
    Chestnut;
Why would Al, knowing how the Republican smear machine works, leave himself so wide open to negative attacks, by willfully disregarding these notices?

That’ll do Sheeple that’ ll do

  11. Chestnut Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:29 AM

HCDFL: What if it Colonel Mustard in the library with a candle stick?

Yes, I see it now… J. Guathier started working in Al Franken’s building in 2003, on year before Franken stole millions from a children’s charity to fund his hate radio show, and 3 years before he decided to become a carpet bagger and run for a Minnesota Senate seat.

Yeah, that’s it… then J. Gauthier committed 12 acts of mail fraud, all in a bizarre and complex attempt to get dirt on Al Franken!!!

He MUST be part of the vast right-wing conspiracy… you know, because we have doormen in every NYC residence, gathering intelligence on every liberal-minded dolt so we can derail their ambitions!!! bwah ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!

HCDFL, this goes without saying, but you’re out of your crack-addled mind.

  12. Chestnut Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:34 AM

Here’s a little lesson according to Occam’s Razor:

The State of New York notified Al Franken he was breaking the law by sending certified letters to his mailing address. Those letters were delivered to his address, and signed for by his building’s doorman. One part of this fellow’s job is to deliver mail to residents. He was employed for 4 years, implying he was good at his job. The doorman delivered the mail. Franken disregarded it.

Using Occam’s Razor, one can surmise that the simplest explanation is probably the correct one.

… that, or you can believe in retarded conspiracy theories hatched by abject idiots like HCDFL.

  13. Swiftee Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:46 AM

No, “el p”. I meant biography. An autobiography by Al Franken would have been rejected as “heresay” at best (pure BS more precisely) by any publisher worth the name.

Say, HCDFL? You really didn’t mean to serve up this softball, did you?

“Why would Al, knowing how the Republican smear machine works, leave himself so wide open to negative attacks, by willfully disregarding these notices?”

    Pfft.

That’ll do dolt #3, that’ ll do

  14. Swiftee Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:49 AM

Chestnut, strictly speaking Franken didn’t steal those millions from a children’s charity. He had “his people” do the stealing…he just pocketed the proceeds.

  15. el presidente Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 12:11 PM

Swiftee: “autobiography” rather than biography, “hearsay” rather than heresay, and now “strictly speaking” the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club ($) dollar amount is now up to the “millions?”

It doesn’t seem as though you’ve ever been to the Jerry Gamble Boys and Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities.

  16. ansel Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 12:36 PM

It seems that people posting seem to think that a tax authority would only send one letter when following-up a question of non-filing or evasion.

Welcome to the real world because they (IRS and MN as examples, and I am sure NY as well since it is a highly taxed state)have a series of letters in their arsenal prior to the “personal visit”. I suggest Franken received numerous letters and probably phone calls before the certified letter came. By the time it gets to the certified letter you would have to be “mentally challenged” if you did not realize you did something wrong, or at least needed some corrective action. Maybe I stumbled onto the issue as to why Franken would ignore notices from a taxing authority.

  17. Swiftee Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 12:38 PM

Strictly speaking, the $875,000 filched from the Gloria Wise boys and girls club falls a bit short of a ($)million dollars.

According to Al Franken, he didn’t know that he was being paid with the proceeds of this sub-million dollar swindle, but there are legal documents that make that hard to believe.

  18. Chestnut Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 1:20 PM

yeah… legal documents with that thief’s signature on them.

  19. el presidente Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 10:09 PM

I’d have to review the Gloria Wise Boys and Girls Club material again. I spent some time reviewing it and re-reviewing it.

I knew that it wasn’t in the millions of dollars, and I knew that it was a bit more complicated than an easy to understand swindle.

Anyway, it seems that Swiftee and I seem to have reviewed the same general material found on the internet.

I’m not sure about the precise legal terms of thief and swindle. I’d have to look them up.
