AFTER MONTHS OF TROUBLES, RUMORS INTENSIFY ABOUT STAFF SHAKE-UP AT TEAM FRANKEN

By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 15, 2008

Since I first reported last month about the new staffer coming to Minnesota to focus on the U.S. Senate, I’ve received numerous tips about additional staff changes coming to Team Franken.

It’s been a brutal two months for Al Franken and my sources indicated that many state and national Democrats were losing confidence in the staff at Team Franken.

MN Publius is reporting this morning that a new campaign manager may been hired at Team Franken. If a new campaign manger is hired for Team Franken, this would be at least the second campaign manager.

In numerous blog and press reports, Andy Barr has been labeled as the campaign manager for Team Franken:

In sourcing press reports, even MN Publius has referred to Andy Barr as the campaign manager of Team Franken.

In other blog and press reports, Barr has been cited as having other staff positions at Team Franken. Barr being referred to with multiple titles shows that an organizational confusion exists at Team Franken.

I can also report that a David Benson has been cited as the campaign manager in communications from Team Franken. The fact is that if a new campaign manager is coming to Team Franken, a current campaign manager is being replaced.

Please check back to Minnesota Democrats Exposed for more information on this developing story.

A winning campaign doesn’t fire its head without a reason. The Angry Al campaign has hit an iceberg and is sinking fast. They think hiring a new captain for the sinking ship will work. It never does.

    D: “A winning…Angry Al campaign…is sinking fast…They think…a new captain…will work…It never does.”
    ——————————-
D writes it is a sinking winning campaign; others MDE-sympathizing regulars have more or less written that it is a loosing winning campaign, and/or a loosing loosing campaign.

The Franken supporters would probably write that it is a winning winning campaign.

Perhaps this is all just part of what to expect in a NormAl [NORM + AL] Campaign.

    Hey pres…put down the bong…m’kay?

Why do you replace (aka ‘fire’) a campaign manager? Its not because you are WINNING. You don’t fire a guy who is helping you WIN.

Angry Al apparently saw some internal polling number and decided to fire the captain of his sinking ship.

    “and/or a loosing loosing campaign.”

    Say, “el P”?

Is Angry Al running a tight campaign that needs loosening or is Andy Barr freeing the captives?

    [loosing=loose + ing]

3M makes a very handy product that allows you to mount a picture on the wall, then turn the hanger loose if you want to move it.

You know, “el p”, I’ve heard some people suggest that Angry Al is losing the confidence of even his most obtuse supporters.

Have you heard anything like that in your social circles?

  6. el presidente Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 1:02 PM

Stephanie Schriock is Al’s new campaign manager according to MnPublius. [MnPublius isn't in my social circle and it's not up on MDE.]

Wow! He’s changed his top staff almost as much as Michele Bachmann.

  8. el presidente Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 1:15 PM

A MnPublius headline also states Norm Coleman will be joining Conrad Burns in retirement.

Perhaps Stephanie Schriock doesn’t especially like the posts of: Chestnut, D, Swiftee, MBB, etc.

  9. AFTER MONTHS OF TROUBLES, TEAM FRANKEN HIRES NEW CAMPAIGN MANAGER | Minnesota Democrats Exposed Says:
    May 15th, 2008 at 2:17 PM

[...] keeping score at home, this is Team Franken’s second or third campaign manager. Both Andy Barr and David Benson have been cited as the “campaign manager” of Team [...]

    Say, “el p”?

Where do you think Stephanie Schriock will come down on loosening those captives?

Do you think she can save Angry Al’s losing campaign?

I have to point out, “el p” that it really doesn’t need to spend much time worrying about Chestnut, D, or myself.

It’s Mike Brodkorb that has set her boss’s hair on fire.

I must have missed MNPublius’ breaking story regarding the impending retirement of Senator Coleman.

I’ve heard that 3M was recently forced to do away with it’s pension plan and now compensates it’s employees via a 401K plan. Of course Norm wouldn’t have to worry about stuff like that, government employees still recieve a very generous pension.

Perhaps. The headline appeared at about 1:00 p.m.
Your posts to me on this thread were at 12:29 pm, 12:41, & 3:22 [according to the times now listed on MDE and on MnPublius.

My post here about Schriock was at about 1:02 pm, [according to the times now listed on MDE].

According to my computer, it’s 4:01 pm [Central], which means that it is 10:01 pm [in Algiers].

“From the Halls of Montezuma to the SHORES OF TRIPOLI.”[Libya]

Although I have seen the halls of, and the tomb of Montezuma, several times, I saw on the internet a couple of days ago, that I have not been to the exact spot to which the American Marines Hymn refers. [Close, but no cigar.]
