DUE TO FRANKEN’S TAX PROBLEMS, THE FIX DOWNGRADES RACE

By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 16, 2008

“7. Minnesota: Call it The Fix curse. Regular readers of the Line know we have been impressed by the campaign that comedian-turned-candidate Al Franken (D) has run to date. Cue a tax problem. Franken has decided to pay $70,000 in back taxes in 17 states after several weeks of drip-drip revelations. Franken said he had been misinformed by his account, acknowledged the mistake, and sought to move on. Still, it gives Sen. Norm Coleman (R) – a terrific politician — a major opening to exploit in the fall. (Previous ranking: 6)” Source: The Fix/Washington Post, May 16, 2008

The Fix/Washington Post column by Chris Cillizza does not mention that there is a state endorsement process by a number of political parties, and there are also primary processes.

Perhaps Chris Cillizza expects what he calls a terrific politician to exploit a major opening that turns out to be a ghost.

WOW! Coleman moved from sixth to seventh in the race for most vulnerable Senator in the nation.

Since this appears to be the only progress he has made in the past six years, I guess I see why you need to give him props. Remember when Mark Dayton was listed on the five most worthless senators list, and he had the decency to step aside?

Norm is two spots away from being Mark Dayton.

    Feel proud, republicans. Feel proud.

Dayton was a complete idiot, who couldn’t even manage his duties. You might not like Coleman’s stand, fine, but Dayton was an embarassment, not because of his policies but because of his behavior.

What is truely sad Leroy, is Franken was the best your side could come up with?? Do not be mad at Coleman for your party’s lack of finding a good candidate to win. If it were me, I would not have picked a person with star qaulity and major tax issues. ;)

Oops, I forgot, you a part of the party who still thinks it is “Wellstone’s” seat. ;)

Another liberal senator who should have stepped down as he was even worse than Dayton!

    “a terrific politician” – I’m thinking that’s not a compliment.

Now, only if Norm can give us a few good reasons to vote FOR him, rather than against Al.

Coleman moved from sixth to seventh in the race for most vulnerable Senator in the nation.

Only in the minds of the nutjob left. What a ridiculous statement.

This seems to be NormAl (Norm + Al) stuff.

Big Kahuna writes that DFL Senators, etc. should step DOWN, and Swiftee writes that dolts, etc. should man UP.

It seems to be a NormAl Up & Down Cycle.

El pres, do you manufacture the drugs you take or just get them from a “friend”? ;)

I keep thinking that the end of each “el p” comments should include a ‘Wheeee!’. ;-)

Careful, when you say “wheeee!” it could very well mean his Mom has to change his diaper. ;)

    “Wheeeen, When you smile,

I really can’t hold a comic who isn’t funny for his tax problems. Logic isn’t something that makes me laugh, unless it’s ironic. Maybe if he was a clown I might hold him more accountable.

    Don’t you ever feel sad,
Lean on me when times are bad.
When the day comes and you’re down,
In a river of trouble and about to drown.

    Just HOLD on, I’m comin’
    HOLD on, I’m comin’
