Maybe it's not just his tax problems as much as people are actually seeing him for what he is (an opportunist, liar who panders to socialist liberals and the rich entertainment class he comes from). After all, not that many people ever actually listened to his Air Head America show. They only saw him as Stuart Smalley and as the goofy looking writer on SNL. Now that he has their attention, they are thinking that a certifiable lunatic isn't quite the best choice to work for Minnesota's citizens.

From the story:

<em>In what has been considered one of the most competitive Senate races in the nation, Coleman still shows some potential vulnerabilities, with a 45 percent overall job approval rating among all Minnesota adults in the poll.

In general, an incumbent seeking reelection who has a job approval rating below 50 percent is considered to be in the danger zone. Some of that appears to be a spillover from the unpopularity of President Bush.

"He seems to just go along with whatever [President] Bush wants," said Green Valley poll respondent Emily Viergutz, a student at Southwest Minnesota State University. "He's just sort of there, going with the flow."</em>

All the bodyblows Franken's been takin' for the last, what? 6 weeks? and Coleman's only at 51% of voters, and only 45% in job-approval ratings?

It's gonna be a brutal election for GOPers, this November.
