TWO PROMINENT LIBERAL BLOGGERS CALL ON FRANKEN TO END CAMPAIGN
By Michael B. Brodkorb | May 20, 2008
Chris Truscott is Ashwin Madia’s former press secretary. He’s calling on Al Franken to end his campaign:
“It’s time for Franken to step aside so we can devote our efforts this fall to relentlessly challenging Coleman, rather than the futile endeavor of attempting to explain away Franken’s known problems and, even more ominously, his missteps yet to come.” Source: Christopher Truscott, May 20, 2008

Hal Kimball agrees with Truscott that Franken should end his campaign:
“Al Franken and his self inflicted political wounds make him unelectable.
In just over 2 weeks, we’ll see how many people are still drinking the Franken kool-aid. Delegates have an opportunity to endorse an actual viable candidate.” Source: Blue man in a Red district, May 20, 2008

The two of them were supporting other candidates long before this news came out, including Bob Olson.
May 20th, 2008 at 10:23 am
Not a chance. Angry Al’s ego wouldn’t let him do the right thing for the good of the Party.
May 20th, 2008 at 10:57 am
Never heard of either of them.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
I don’t think either of them supported Olson’s failed Senate Bid, before his failed Congressional bid.
While both have never supported Franken, not too many Democrats have called for Franken to call it quits.
May 20th, 2008 at 12:56 pm
This was no great show of courage for these two.
How could anyone support a guy that says his 12 year old son surfs the ‘net for bestiality pics?
Oh, that’s right…we’re talking about the Democrat party here.
May 20th, 2008 at 1:41 pm
Also, how could we vote for someone who endorsed Paul Wellstone?
Oh, wait, they BOTH did.

About the bestiality pics: Can you not tell that this whole article is complete fiction. Apparently many here have no sense of humor. I found the quotes from Franken’s article to be pretty funny. Better than Bill O’Rielly’s “Hey baby, put down that pipe, and get my pipe up”.
Combining this with the Gingrich and the Vietnamese prostitute segment from Franken’s book, it seems that the Republican party, and many on this blog have huge hangups regarding anything sexual, including works of humor.
GROW UP!
Maybe then you wouldn’t be trolling for hookups in Airport bathrooms, or meeting hookers in parking lots.
May 20th, 2008 at 1:56 pm
Just how prominent are these clowns? It just sounds like a couple hissy fits, which aren’t unusual on that side.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:13 pm
Wow! TWO people with rational thoughts at the DFL? Clearly, no one else over there will be smart enough to listen.
May 20th, 2008 at 2:35 pm
Michael P, maybe suggesting your children study bestiality is what passes for humor in Democrat circles but most of the civilized world would consider it a form of abuse.
Really, is there a limit to how low you mongrels are willing to set your standards?
May 20th, 2008 at 3:17 pm
People like swiftee have so much hate built up that they can’t really look beyond a person being a democrat or a republican.
swiftee, you are far from civilized my friend, you can’t look past a person’s political orientation, this is so childish and irrational that it blows my mind.
still looking forward to someone on the republican side trying to argue about something good that Coleman has a done as opposed to this bull.
minnesota politics is issue less it appears to me, if someone could actually prove to me that coleman is has done positive things for this country instead of just outlining the idiotic things Franken has done, i might consider voting for him. but i guess if that is what i am looking for i should go to a different blog, perhaps move to a more ‘civilized’ state.

Yoni, what you detect in my writing is pure, unrelenting disgust.
While I readily admit that when ever someone identifies as a ‘Democrat’, I’m immediatly put off, I’m always willing to give the benefit of the doubt.
I occasionally do run into Democrats that are well meaning and sincere, albeit inherently confused, and I’m ready to help where I can.
But the breed that inhabits the interwebs is a strain of pure moronic moonbat whose keyboard ejaculations I find completely reprehensible.
The graphic sexual content of Franken’s interview can be overlooked as nothing more than another instance where a lefty forgets his sense of propriety. But his comment regarding his son, “joke” or not, is inexcusable..at least to anyone worthy of calling themselves human.
May 20th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
Swiftee, does anyone really need to identify themselves to you as a Democrat? I mean, can’t you smell them a mile away?
May 20th, 2008 at 4:03 pm
True, dat.
May 20th, 2008 at 4:09 pm
Nice to see Brodkorb has turned over his blog to NotSoSwiftly’s premature ejaculations. Great for your credibility, Mikey!

As we used to shout at the ball game when the opposing pitcher was getting hit hard, “Leave him in!”
May 20th, 2008 at 4:51 pm
It must be tough to be a defeatocrat this time!
May 20th, 2008 at 5:05 pm
Cash-
The Democrats control both houses of the state legislature by large margins, every worthwhile constitutional office, Minnesota’s congressional delegation (also for size) and soon they will have both senators.
And while we will have to wait a few years to get the governor’s office back, I wonder what color the sky is in your world when you think it is hard being a democrat right about now?
The voters have spoken, and they have said resoundingly that they are not afraid of gay illegal immigrants having abortions on a burning flag. They worry about quality roads, schools and nursing homes.
Until republicans figure that out, they will still be able to caucus in a phone booth.

I believe that Christopher Truscott was a reporter and also an editor for the Stillwater Gazette around the years 2004-2005.

About 1971-72 Karen Carpenter sang “Bless the Beasts and the Children.” [The movie and song had the same title.]
Every now and then I’ve read the blog “Blue man in a Red district [Hal Kimball].”
I’ve only fairly recently seen Chris Truscott’s Blog but I’ve seen him listed on other [older] blogs.
I’m a tad amazed at some folks [example: Swiftee] just write-off blogs, and then just go to a topic such as: bestiality.
SEX SELLS because it gets attention.
About the time that Karen Carpenter was singing, “Bless the Beasts and the Children,” George Bush was probably in the state-side military [lost records], John Kerry was probably in South Vietnam, Al Gore was probably in South Vietnam; Bill Clinton was probably a student in England; Hillary Clinton was probably in the USA; Dick Cheney was probably in the USA, and had his child insuring he wouldn’t be drafted into the military, Norm Coleman was an anti-war protestor; John McCain was in the middle of his captivity…
Truscott and Kimball are bloggers that have things to write beside some the standard SEX SELLS that people sometimes get led about the nose.
I’m not writing that character, judgments, etc. aren’t factors, and that they aren’t important.
If you want to examine MN GOP/MDE’s release about bestiality and Joe, then generally try to figure out how many years old Joe was when Franken made the comment.
Do things match up or don’t they? Do they make sense, or don’t they.
I think that if you try not to shoot from the hip, that things may go along better on this site.

“I’m a tad amazed at some folks [example: Swiftee] just write-off blogs, and then just go to a topic such as: bestiality.”
Say, “el p”? You keep what’s yours. Your hero brought up the subject, not I. If anyone ever brought that subject up in the same sentence with one of my kids name there’d be big trouble, trust me here.
Personally I think that any parent that would *voluntarily* do such a despicable thing to their own isn’t worthy of having kids.
But you guys stick with it, it looks good on you.
May 20th, 2008 at 10:40 pm
Swiftee,
If you take a look at some of YOUR PREVIOUS POSTS, and also applied your similar reasoning:
“If anyone ever brought up that subject up in the same sentence with one of my kids name there’d be big trouble, trust me here.”
You might be having a debate with yourself about the placement [higher/lower] of the bar.
Who is, and who is not, individually worthy to have children and raise children, is in part, the question that you touch on.
Individual values, group values, community values, which community, which group, which values, individual growth, community growth, etc. I think are the some of the [natural] outgrowths of the values writings [discussions].
To me, the “you brought up the subject” or in this case “YOUR HERO BROUGHT UP THE SUBJECT, NOT I.” makes little sense.
My hero isn’t Hugh Hefner or Al Franken, and I don’t really know who Al’s son is, however, from the very little that I have read, I think he is an adult, and has graduated from higher education.

Swiftee clearly doesn’t understand that the article that Franken wrote for PLAYBOY was a piece of Fiction (Hint, that means the things he wrote about didn’t really happen).
Comedy only works when one has the intellect to understand it. Obviously this is so far above your head, it didn’t move your hair as it flew by.
Franken’s daughter is a Harvard Graduate, and his son is a graduate of Princeton. No doubt some of their success is do to the job that Al and Franni did as parents. An example of “family values” in action.

“Comedy only works when one has the intellect to understand it.”
No, comedy works when it’s intelligent, or when it’s cheep. Franken specializes in cheep. There’s not much intelligent about much of anything Al Franken has ever done.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:20 am
So, the intellectually astute leftist shares individual values, group values, community values *and* a sense of humor with the pedophile “community”…nice.
You two pieces of work can keep that; it looks good on you.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:46 am
I see how it works now , everytime frankenfraud does somthin stupid the libs can claim it’s humor or satire instead of admiting Angry Al is a disgusting, lieing fool.
May 21st, 2008 at 8:49 am
Oh, I see. If I don’t think it is funny, I must not be smart enough to get it.
alrighty then…

Leroy:
Are you saying that the position of governor isn’t a significant constitutional office? The only thing that stopped the silly DFL agenda was the vetos by the goveror?
Has Norm Coleman switched back to the Democrat party. Your post says that the Democrats will have both Minnesota US Senate Seat. The only way that will happen is if Norm switches again because Al Franken or if the DFL had a brain their replacement candidate isn’t winning.
The Republicans have three seats and will hopefully rebalance it at 4 this year. So there is no horrible misbalance there.
The State house is going to make a dramatic turn as all those people who claimed to be “Fiscal moderate Democrats” get voted out of office this.
This is looking to be a great year for the Republican party in Minnesota. Not a bad year Leroy.
