He will certainly relearn this fall what he should have learned when he ran for governor. He bragged about how popular he had been as mayor in St. Paul. When he ran for governor, he didn’t carry a single St. Paul precinct.

Now, he is bragging about how great he has been as a U.S. Senator. I hope the people of Minnesota repeat the message, and fail to give him a single precinct statewide.

He spent the first three years rubber stamping every Bush initiative, and the last two trying to distance himself by voting against the president on all non-consequential votes, while still supporting the primary planks of the Bush legacy. Norm Coleman shares Bush’s role in creating an unresolvable quagmire in the middle east, a tattered constitution, record deficits and a doozy of a recession.

And when you say you don’t have the time to do everything yourself, I assume this means you use what little free time you do have to study the various tax and business codes in place around the country rather than hiring accounting professionals to assist you with this work? Al Franken is also a busy guy. He hired people to advise him on business matters, and his advisers let him down. Faulty advice sounds eerily familiar to how we got into this war, if you ask me.

Norm Coleman has spent the last five years doing absolutely NOTHING for the state of Minnesota. In his term, he will have collected over a million dollars in salary, and yet when it comes time to say why people should vote for him, all he has is that he is not Al Franken.

Given the choice between a senator known for doing nothing and an unknown, I will choose the unknown.

Given a choice between a senator who, when tested, failed to deliver, and an untested candidate, I will choose the untested.

From my observance and brief interactions with Sen.Klobuchar and Sen.Coleman I am very comfortable with both. I wouldn’t mix it up. I like the balance and both are very responsive. (Coleman’s office better than Klobuchar, but she’s newer I suppose)

Ron Carey did not “throw Colonel Repya under the bus.” Repya ran for party chair against Carey. Carey got more votes.

The same thing happened when Mary McEvoy ran for DFL party chair against Mike Erlandson. Erlandson won and went on to become party chair of the DFL. McEvoy lost and went on, sadly, to accompany Senator Paul Wellstone on his trip to northern Minnesota on that terrible day in 2002.

In either case, no one was thrown under a bus.

Seems to me today’s Rassmussen poll is starting to show that the stratgy of letting Ron and Michael shovel filth is not working all that well.

But, when your record closely mirrors the most despised president in history, I guess desperation becomes your only friend.

And just curious since when is talking about a person who claimed they didn’t know that they hadn’t been paying their taxes worth investigation. In theory an argument can be made that Franken didn’t know. Somebody could be pretending to be this person signing for important packages and taking it. The problem for Franken was that there were multiple mailings some of them not certified which he should’ve seen.

That isn’t even remotely true. Look at the filings at the MN Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure board. Nearly all of them are investigations of democrats, with the complaints filed by republicans. I would say they run 8-1 in this manner. And they also run 8-1 with rulings of groundless.

And what ever happened with the call for California to investigate Franken? Oh, that’s right, NOTHING. Ron isn’t interested in a debate on the issues, because he knows your side will get CREAMED on those. He simply distracts the party faithful with bogus investigations as a way of staying out of the fray while democrats continue to lead this state. The diverted attention bought with an investigation request helps hide the fact that his party is crumbing at the base and is devoid of any ideas on how to fix the many problems facing Minnesotans today.

I truly feel sorry for any person still calling themselves a republican today. You obviously inherited the trait from your parents, and failed to notice exactly when it was that the party stopped standing for anything other than wedge issues that excite 2 percent of the populous.

Now the Republicans are finally getting in that game. About time, I say.
