Chestnut-

If by bullshit, you are saying that you prefer to be represented by a proven failure, then I guess we will agree to disagree.

I like the promise of change over another six years of Norm Coleman's patented total and utter failure.

He will certainly relearn this fall what he should have learned when he ran for governor. He bragged about how popular he had been as mayor in St. Paul. When he ran for governor, he didn't carry a single St. Paul precinct.

Now, he is bragging about how great he has been as a U.S. Senator. I hope the people of Minnesota repeat the message, and fail to give him a single precinct statewide.

Tess-

Say your choices were Mark Dayton or an unknown, untested outsider?

Would you go with Dayton, even though he was not doing all that good of a job, simply because he was experienced? I think not. Norm Coleman is Mark Dayton without the brain. He spent the first three years rubber stamping every Bush initiative, and the last two trying to distance himself by voting against the president on all non-consequential votes, while still supporting the primary planks of the Bush legacy. Norm Coleman shares Bush's role in creating an unresolvable quagmire in the middle east, a tattered constitution, record deficits and a doozy of a recession.

And when you say you don't have the time to do everything yourself, I assume this means you use what little free time you do have to study the various tax and business codes in place around the country rather than hiring accounting professionals to assist you with this work? Al Franken is also a busy guy. He hired people to advise him on business matters, and his advisers let him down. Faulty advice sounds eerily familiar to how we got into this war, if you ask me.

Norm Coleman has spent the last five years doing absolutely NOTHING for the state of Minnesota. In his term, he will have collected over a million dollars in salary, and yet when it comes time to say why people should vote for him, all he has is that he is not Al Franken.

Given the choice between a senator known for doing nothing and an unknown, I will choose the unknown.

Given a choice between a senator who, when tested, failed to deliver, and an untested candidate, I will choose the untested.

For me,all of this shows is that Franken is unknown, untested, and not trustworthy. The issues are complex, there are a thousand different perspectives. I work, I have small children, I can't bone up on everything current. So I have to trust my elected representatives to look out for me, my family, MN interests, and a global awareness.

From my observance and brief interactions with Sen.Klobuchar and Sen.Coleman I am very comfortable with both. I wouldn't mix it up. I like the balance and both are very responsive. (Coleman's office better than Klobuchar, but she's newer I suppose)

Be steady MN.... that's who we are.

Stonewall, this is what Carey said, a year ago:

<em>When we ought to be working to unite our Party and win Minnesota in 2008, Joe Repya has apparently decided to further attempt to divide us by sending a letter with inaccurate information and over-the-top attacks.</em>

Later, Carey says:

<em>" I am saddened and troubled that Repya would feed the liberal hatred of Republicans at a time we should be coming together to prepare for the important 2008 elections. "</em>

republiCon Ron ends his letter with:

<em>Let's work as a leadership team to put an end to Republican on Republican attacks that only benefit our DFL opponents.</em>

If that's not Carey tossin' Colonel Repya under the bus, expecially in light of SEVENTY amended FEC reports, I don't know what is.

the one thing the dems have is consistency. their presidential and mn senate candidates consistently do not tell the truth. obama says he never hear his pastor while sitting in a pew for 20 years, his uncle helped liberate auschwitz despite the fact that the russians liberated (maybe obama is telling the truth in that his uncle was a marxist similar to him), that memorial day is to honor veterans rather than honor those that gave their lives, the u.s. has 58 states. seems to me that franken will fit in just fine with his inability to recognize the truth. franken may win the election, but has already lost his honor.

Once again, we have Brodkorb and Carey to thank for their efforts in the Senate race. Rasmussen results from last month had this race at 50-43 for Coleman. Results this month have the race at 47-45 Coleman.

Keep up the good work guys on getting the word out there about Franken! It's Kennedy-Klobuchar deja vu.

Tommy,

Ron Carey did not "throw Colonel Repya under the bus." Repya ran for party chair against Carey. Carey got more votes.

The same thing happened when Mary McEvoy ran for DFL party chair against Mike Erlandson. Erlandson won and went on to become party chair of the DFL. McEvoy lost and went on, sadly, to accompany Senator Paul Wellstone on his trip to northern Minnesota on that terrible day in 2002.

In either case, no one was thrown under a bus.

Why are the republicans afraid to run a campaign based on Norm Coleman's record in the Senate?

Seems to me today's Rassmussen poll is starting to show that the stratgy of letting Ron and Michael shovel filth is not working all that well.

But, when your record closely mirrors the most despised president in history, I guess desperation becomes your only friend.

Sorry Leroy but my parents were Democrats; back when the Democrats actually stood for something. Now you people put up the likes of Al Franken and Obama for public office. Who in thier right minds would vote for these people? They are way to far left for mainstream Americans. Al will lose, probably before the first vote is cast. Obama will lose because he is a socialist and the moderates will look at McCain as a more middle of the road kind of guy. Leroy get used to it, the Dems will not take the White House this year and they certainly won't take the our US Senate set with your buddy Angry Al running.

Boy Plymouth house prices haven't gone up? I wonder why the value of the house I inherited has basically gone from $100,000 when I inherited it to almost $300,000 in a little over ten years (most of the gain was when Bush was President by the way) with no major improvements by me. Boy my property taxes have gone up. Want to blame Bush for that instead of the city of Minneapolis (controlled by Democrats) and by the Minneapolis School Board (controlled by Democrats). You just want to complain about President Bush on that phony issue.

And just curious since when is talking about a person who claimed they didn't know that they hadn't been paying their taxes worth investigation. In theory an argument can be made that Franken didn't know. Somebody could be pretending to be this person signing for important packages and taking it. The problem for Franken was that there were multiple mailings some of them not certified which he should've seen.

Stonewall-

That isn't even remotely true. Look at the filings at the MN Campaign Finance and Public Disclosure board. Nearly all of them are investigations of democrats, with the complaints filed by republicans. I would say they run 8-1 in this manner. And they also run 8-1 with rulings of groundless.

And what ever happened with the call for California to investigate Franken? Oh, that's right, NOTHING. Ron isn't interested in a debate on the issues, because he knows your side will get CREAMED on those. He simply distracts the party faithful with bogus investigations as a way of staying out of the fray while democrats continue to lead this state. The diverted attention bought with an investigation request helps hide the fact that his party is crumbing at the base and is devoid of any ideas on how to fix the many problems facing Minnesotans today.

I truly feel sorry for any person still calling themselves a republican today. You obviously inherited the trait from your parents, and failed to notice exactly when it was that the party stopped standing for anything other than wedge issues that excite 2 percent of the populous.

The Democrats, over the years, have made an art form of the practice of filing a complaint with a public agency as a way to attack an opponent.

Now the Republicans are finally getting in that game. About time, I say.

This may upset PlymouthDem, but where was he when the DFL in this state was and is using this tactic? Oh, that's right, he was playing a song: "The Sounds of Silence."

Does that mean that there should be no investigation of fraud and tampering with regard to Al Franken's mail? Or is that just a non-sequitor intended to change the subject?

If I were Ron Carey, and supervised the issuance of 5 years and 10 months of consecutively wrong FEC Financial Reports, the last thing I'd be doing is calling for an investigation.

Then again, I'm not republiCon Ron, and I'm not the one that's responsible for 5 years and 10 months of consecutively wrong FEC Financial Reports.

Ron Carey has been totally and completely discredited.

did president Bush by calling for democratic reforms embolden Hamas following their "democratic" victory of Fatah in 2006 as Rock out with your Barack out claims, I think so.

Yoni,
Yes. Democrats share culpability for IRAQ. Nearly all of them voted for it. Nearly all of them had the same information. So, yes, Democrats are also responsible for Iraq... and particularly all efforts to hamper America's ability to win by supporting, comforting and emboldening our enemies.

The answer is yes.

so its ok to use expletives if you are talking about liberals, but not vice versa?

I don't apologize though, I used vulgarity which should only be reserved for John McCain when talking about his wife.

Has George Bush done enough? Hell no. He should have vetoed congressional and out of control spending. He should have dismantled Social Security. He should have demanded massive increases in domestic energy production, including drilling, nuclear and conservation efforts. He should never had signed Medicare drug benefit in to law. He should have cut taxes even farther, and made them permanent. He should have built the goddam fence, and he should have been more vocal about calling out Democrats for the lies, slander and treason they've committed in our struggle against Islamic Fascists.

PlymouthDem apparently believes that tax evasion, lies, and law breaking of a Democrat candidate aren't "issues" for assessing his qualifications.

Speaking of home values: When did you buy your home? At what price? What improvements have you made? For what reason do you believe George Bush is responsible for your borrowing behavior?

Speaking of the uninsured... why is it my responsibility to pay for someone else's insurance? Keep in mind, that it is only "insurance" we are talking about, and not "care" because everyone has access to care.

Regarding veterans and retirement... ask the fucking Democrats who use these people as political pawns, who stole their retirement income in the first place, and who never had any intention whatsoever to secure the sustainability of social security... a fucking stupid system that was broken from the very day socialist, FDR, crammed it down our throats.

You want to know about the issues? Look to the worthless Democrat bastards who have created ever single one of the messes this country finds its self it.

Does a week go by that MnGOP doesn't send some whiny letter to some public agency to investigate a senate candidate? Can't MnGOP do something to forward the discussion related to actual issues? Perhaps send a letter inquiring where my home value has disappeared to under the Bush administration? Perhaps a letter inquiring why so many people are uninsured in what should be the premiere representational democracy in the world? Perhaps asking why veterans are treated so poorly? How boomers will be able to retire?

I realize you consider this whole tax mess your best bet to win the senate election (that's pretty sad by the way). But, perhaps you could at least make an effort to talk about issues that matter.
