PIONEER PRESS: “GOP CRITICIZE FRANKEN OVER RAPE JOKE IN 1995 ARTICLE”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 5, 2008
“The Republican Party’s latest release from the archives of Democratic Senate candidate Al Franken’s past is a 13-year-old New York Magazine description of a Saturday Night Live writers’ meeting.
During the meeting, writers are brainstorming about how to develop a sketch in which one of the actors plays ’60 Minutes’ commentator Andy Rooney, who finds an empty pill bottle in his desk.
According to the article, Franken’s suggestion includes Rooney saying: ‘I give the pills to Leslie Stahl. Then when Leslie is passed out, I take her to the closet and rape her. Or ‘That’s why you never see Lesley until February.’ Or, ‘When she passes out. I put her in various positions and take pictures of her.’
Republicans women held a news conference today to say the skit suggestion reflects badly on Franken’s character. They said he should at least explain it and perhaps drop out of the running for this weekend’s DFL Senate endorsement.” Source: Pioneer Press, June 5, 2008

It takes a lot for my feminist hairs to stand up- but this guy is nuts! I seriously can’t believe the DFL would want to run him- what scares me is that Ceresi would get back in because he’d actually have a shot against Norm.

shozzy,
Perhaps I can help with the Italian/Sicilian spelling.
Ciresi as in: “Sir, Re-See” as in take another look.
That being written, in Michael B. Brodkorb’s (MBB) disclaimer he states:
“If you read Minnesota Democrats Exposed and can’t figure out that I am a partisan Republican, you are a moron.”
I’m not so sure that “MBB” has the real meaning of a “partisan Republican” really figured out yet.
Perhaps in that case I might fit in his moron category.

What’s really horrifying, is ol’ Smokescreen ignoring forced prostitution and forced abortions in a place where the American Flag flies, the Northern Marianas Islands.
How come Brod doesn’t have a problem with that?
Oh, wait – because she’s a “shining” example of why GOP now stands for GreedOverPrinciples.
Coleman’s toast. On Monday, the gloves come off.

I think it really says something about DFL activists that they will endorse such an obviously flawed candidate. Instead of accepting that he is doomed, they get Al Gore to boost him going into the convention.
The DFL is doing a disservice to the majority of Minnesotans who are only now beginning to pay attention to the race, and who are very uncomfortable with Franken, and would rather see a different, more solid candidate.
The majority of Minnesotans would rather see an election in which candidates debate the issues rather than flinging mud (both Franken and Coleman). It is unfortunate that when we have two presidential nominees who preach bipartisanship, we here in Minnesota have chosen an election full of hate and disunity.
Shozzy, I agree, the RPM better be careful to not go for the kill too soon with Franken, or risk a Ciresi victory. (although that would be nice)

Say, “el p”?
You fit into *everyones* moron category, trust me.
dolt #1? Don’t stop with the gloves.
On Monday, why not take off that entire k-mart US Army uniform and put those e-bay battle ribbons back on the “hero wall” in the trailer.
You’ve done your best to “man up” Al, but not even a fraudulent Army vet can save him now.
June 5th, 2008 at 4:41 PM
I’ve given Angry Al the coveted Swiftee endorsement for Democrat US Senate candidate.
Al has proved that he represents *everything* I have come to associate the Democrat party with and is by far and away the best choice to carry that example around the state of Minnesota for a close inspection.
June 5th, 2008 at 6:15 PM
Are Minnesota Dems really about to nominate this guy? I hope so!

“What’s really horrifying, is ol’ Smokescreen ignoring forced prostitution and forced abortions in a place where the American Flag flies, the Northern Marianas Islands.”
Interesting Tommy… so do you condemn the Democrat led Congress for turning its blind eye on this atrocity? Or just Norm?
Maybe Al Franken can make it a campaign issue… oh, wait… he’s comfortable with it too.

“dolt #1? Don’t stop with the gloves. “
Say, Scrotee?
You’d like that, you sick pervert. But, tell me – why did you think it was ok for you to post a link to full frontal male nudity, here on MDE?

Say, Chestnut?
Your time-line is more than a little off.
And the Abramoff Indictments are still comin’ in:
***
Another Hill Staffer Caught in Abramoff Net
It has been more than four years since The Post first reported on the questionable activities of now-disgraced lobbyist Jack Abramoff. The indictments are still coming.

Good luck on Norm stayin’ away from Abramoff, now that the sex genie is out of the box…..
June 5th, 2008 at 7:50 PM
Tommy,
What the hell are you talking about? I thought you were talking about the Mariana Islands. Are you saying that that’s not an issue now? Is this another story about the forced labor camps in Saipan that flourished under Bill Clinton?
Speaking of time lines, I looked in to this strange story. Seems the lid was blown off of it by early 2006, in the first half of Coleman’s term… are you seriously laying that at his feet?
Pretty stupid, don’t you think?
But as long as Abramoff indictments are still coming in, it will be interesting when Harry Reid and company are hauled in front of a grand jury. They’re in deep with Abramoff.
… or do you really think that’s not a Democrat scandal? LOL!
June 5th, 2008 at 8:36 PM
Still thinking about naked men and scrotums eh, dolt #1? I bet you were on the phone to Al while you typed your comment…time to help him “man up” again.
You sure you weren’t discharged from the Army for “asking and telling”? Guess the gloves you’re talking about might be latex then, eh?
Not that there’s enything wrong with that….at least among your own ilk.
June 5th, 2008 at 9:07 PM
The name of the major party is the Democratic Farmer-Labor Party.

“Speaking of time lines, I looked in to this strange story. Seems the lid was blown off of it by early 2006, in the first half of Coleman’s term… are you seriously laying that at his feet? “
Yep. He became Chair of the Investigations SubCommittee, and did nothing. No surprise there!
“Pretty stupid, don’t you think? “
Nope. Lot o’ GOPers felt the heat at the polls; ask Conrad Burns how bein’ tied to Abramoff worked for him.
“… or do you really think that’s not a Democrat scandal? LOL”
If you can make that one stick, you’ll be the first. Again, ask Conrad Burns how well that one worked for him.
Here’s the bottom line – hypocrite Brod (because republiCon Ron is now duckin’ microphones) made the “writing about abusing women” charge; now the women that were really abused in Saipan are in play – as is Abramoff, whom Coleman ALSO never investigated.
Way to go, GOPers. “Ready, SHOOT! Aim”
June 6th, 2008 at 7:47 AM
No matter how far into the dumpster he sinks, Dolt #1 stands by his man.
That kind of loyalty is real hard to come by; did you and Angry Al do some hard time together, Dolt#1? It’s not hard to tell who got the “top bunk”.
Keep a good grip on Al’s belt loop, Dolt #1.
June 6th, 2008 at 7:54 AM
“ask Conrad Burns how bein’ tied to Abramoff worked for him.”
I’m interested in how ties to Abramoff will help Harry Reid, Byron Dorgon, John Kerry, et. al. as well.
Lying, thieving, cheating Democrats.
June 6th, 2008 at 9:34 AM
Pay close attention to that, Chestnut. Take plenty of time.
Meanwhile, the branding of GOP as GreedOverPrinciples continues….
June 6th, 2008 at 10:35 AM
I’m going to love hearing more about Obama’s ties to convicted felon Tony Rezko too. Interesting how much money that corrupt s.o.b. raised for Obama… what, quarter of a million dollars?
Interesting too how Rezko got a piece of property for Obama at $300,000 below market value. Obama’s ties to terrorists and the mob are pretty fascinating… old-school Chicago politics at their worst.
Not since JFK stole the election in 1960…
June 6th, 2008 at 10:39 AM
Say, Dolt #1?
You meant to say “Meanwhile, the branding of GOP as GreedOverPrinciples by a shamless scumbag that fraudulently portrays himself as a disabled military veteran (as well as several other fake personalities) continues.”
Carry on, Dolt #1. You’re Angry Al’s #1 cabin boy.
