MUST READ FROM CHECKS & BALANCES: “WALZ PLAYING AN ACTIVE ROLE IN CIRESI RECRUITMENT” #2
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 6, 2008
MN Publius is reporting that Congressman Walz’s campaign is denying reports that Walz is “playing an active role in Ciresi recruitment.” Checks & Balanaces is standing by their story:
“Walz’s Campaign Manager Chris Schmitter tracked us down soon after our arrival and emphasized Walz is not in support of any specific candidate, but supports the endorsement process.
We reconfirmed the information from our previous post and our source’s information came directly from principles in the conversation. Now as the endorsement draws nearer the different sides are trying to control all sources of information and count delegates. We are not surprised to have been approached by the Walz camp or their effort to prevent any misinterpretation of the Congressman’s position. We feel quite comfortable that our previous information is accurate it is just now as the heat is turned up every piece of information has greater impact.” Source: Checks & Balances (free subscription required) June 6, 2008

Chris Truscott, formerly of Ashwin Madia’s campaign, left a funny comment on MN Publius about Walz’s campaign deny reports that Walz is “playing an active role in Ciresi recruitment“:
“What do you expect him to say? Yes, we think Al Franken is toxic and might hurt us down here if the Republicans get their act together…” Source: Chris Truscott, comment on MN Publius, June 6, 2008
I’ll be heading down to live-blog the endorsement proceedings, so remember to check back tomorrow to Minnesota Democrats Exposed.
