MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “REPUBLICAN PARTY OF MINNESOTA STATEMENT ON FRANKEN ENDORSEMENT”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 7, 2008
Rochester, Minn. – Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey today issued the following statement regarding the DFL Party’s endorsement of Al Franken.
“With their endorsement of Al Franken, the DFL Party gave its official seal of approval to a candidate who failed to pay taxes in 17 states, failed to pay workers’ compensation and joked about bestiality and the drugging and rape of a woman. Each and every DFL candidate on the ballot this year will need to explain why they refused to condemn Franken’s demeaning and degrading comments that rob women of their dignity. Neither the DFL Party or its candidates will remember this day fondly in November when Minnesotans reject their decision to endorse a man who finds humor in a subject as serious as rape.”

UPDATE: MN GOP Chairman Ron Carey and Cullen Sheehan, campaign manager for Coleman for U.S Senate, spoke with reporters after Franken was endorsed.

Ron Carey, the Chairperson of MN GOP began the day of his 27th Wedding Anniversary at the State DFL Convention in Rochester, Minnesota. He was given a polite Honorable Mention at the State DFL Convention.
However, it should also be noted that Ron Carey did engage in MN GOP press conference “previews” of what has been referred to at MDE as Al Franken material that was apparently made up by the MN GOP.
Ron Carey may be a tad hard pressed to explain why he selected to spend a Saturday of his 27th Wedding Anniversary at the State DFL Convention with previews of MN GOP material zinging the DFL about: bestiality, drugging and rape of a woman, etc.

With their endorsement of Al Franken, the DFL has demonstrated it’s commitment to raping the tax paying public of their income in pursuit of their reckless, economy-killing, socialist agenda.

Chestnut is writing about sex and public tax policy.
Perhaps Chestnut will write about sex and urban renewal next.
