MN GOP PRESS RELEASE: “ALEC BALDWIN: AL FRANKEN’S CHARACTER WITNESS”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 10, 2008

St. Paul- While several Minnesota Democrats have publicly criticized Al Franken’s extreme and demeaning “satire” at the expense of women, ultra-liberal Hollywood actor Alec Baldwin is rushing to Franken’s defense in a new commentary he penned for the Huffington Post. Baldwin, who last year called his own 11-year old daughter a “rude, thoughtless little pig” defends Franken’s character in the piece. In response to Baldwin’s cheerleading for Franken, Republican Party of Minnesota Chairman Ron Carey issued the following statement.

“The man who calls his daughter a “rotten little pig” in an obscenity laced phone call endorses the man who thinks drugging and raping women is funny. When Al Franken talks about how proud he is of his supporters, it’s clear they are repaying his loyalty. While Franken’s out of touch Hollywood friends may think joking about rape is great satire, most Minnesotans won’t. Al Franken’s 30-year career of ‘accomplishment’ is laden with jokes about bestiality, rape and having sex with women while they are vomiting – and only Al Franken thinks that those ‘accomplishments’ are great for the people of Minnesota.”

Baldwin Backs Franken:

Alec Baldwin: “Al Franken is everything you could hope for in a candidate to represent your state in the world’s most august deliberative body.” (Alec Baldwin, “The Importance Of Electing Al Franken,” Huffington Post, June 10, 2008)

Baldwin’s Greatest Hits:

Baldwin Called Own 11-Year Old Daughter “Thoughtless Little Pig.” “Alec Baldwin could be barred from contact with his daughter after he left a threatening tirade on her voice mail, calling the 11-year-old a ‘rude, thoughtless little pig’ and vowing to ‘straighten your a—out’ on his next visit.” (Michelle Caruso, “You’re A Pig, Alec Tells Kid,” Daily News, April 20, 2007)

Baldwin Likened September 11th Attacks To Florida Recount. “Baldwin, a well-known Democratic activist, made comparisons to Sept. 11 that were even stronger on Thursday when he told a Florida A&M University that the controversial presidential vote ‘has done as much damage to our country as any terrorist attack could do, in some ways.’ ‘I know that’s a harsh thing to say, perhaps, but I believe that what happened in 2000 did as much damage to the pillars of democracy as terrorists did to the pillars of commerce in New York City,’ Baldwin said to applause from the audience in Tallahassee.” (Robert Hardt Jr.,”’Bush League’ Baldwin In 9/11 Insult,” N.Y. Post, March 9, 2002)

Baldwin Called Vice President Of United States “Terrorist.” “Actor Alec Baldwin writes on HuffingtonPost.com, quote, ‘Cheney is a terrorist. He terrorizes our enemies abroad and innocent citizens here at home indiscriminately.’” (CNN’s “Showbiz Tonight,” February 20, 2006)

Baldwin: Henry Hyde Should Be Stoned To Death. “Jack Valenti has fired off a letter to actor Alec Baldwin, chastising him for suggesting in a comedy bit that people stone to death House Judiciary Committee Chairman Henry Hyde (R-Ill.). … During his guest spot, Baldwin noted that President Clinton has the public’s support and that in other countries, Hyde and his family would be stoned to death.” (Lisa de Moraes, “Valenti To Baldwin: Cool It, Smart Alec!” The Washington Post, December 21, 1998)

So who’s going to be Baldwin’s character witness?

  2. Chestnut Says:
    June 10th, 2008 at 3:37 PM

Funny. “Rude, thoughtless little pig” is a vivid and accurate description of Al Franken… well, except for the “little” part.

Almost as credible as “Flounder” becoming your character witness.

    You can’t make this up.

Jack Valenti, in 1998; that was after I saw Jack.

“Commentators have know that the ability of defendants to call character witnesses can give an advantage to more affluent defendants. Affluent defendants can call, as character witnesses, celebrities, athletes, and prominent members of the community. Contrastingly, it is not unknown for death row inmates to sometimes call, as a character witness, fellow death row inmates.”

Perhaps his tongue got stuck in between the keys.

Al Franken is CREEPY. Of cousre Alec Baldwin would come to his defense. He is a wife beater with extremely questionable parental skills . Al Franken is sooooo CREEPY. He does not = Senator no matter how hard he tries.

  12. Enough Already Says:
    June 10th, 2008 at 9:56 PM

    Michael,

Is there anything else going on in the world of Minnesota Democrats?

I’m getting sick of the constant Al Franken stuff.

  13. John F Not Kerry Says:
    June 10th, 2008 at 10:30 PM

Is Karl Rove running Franken’s campaign?

  14. Greg Lang Says:
    June 10th, 2008 at 10:42 PM

Remember when Alec Baldwin came to the Fine Line cafe to support DFLer Roger Moe running for governor. Alec Baldwin as a spokesperson for PETA had previously said that all aspects of meat production should be exploded.

Also, Alec Balwin had previously threatened to leave the US if a democrat was not elected president.

  15. el presidente Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 12:00 AM

Is Karl Rove running John F Not Kerry’s posts?

Did Ron Carey ruin his 27th Wedding Anniversary by attending the MN State Democratic Convention?

Is Jesse Ventura going to ruin Karl Rove’s campaign?

Is Larry Craig going to make a pit stop at MSP?

    Is Alec Baldwin a character?

Will John F Not Kerry “keep his comments limited to the subject of the post?”

  16. Wade Seeker Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 2:09 PM

Ya know Rocketman, I wonder about your obsession with someone elses anniversary, is it because libs never even remember vows or even the last name of their last partner?

  17. hottip Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 2:56 PM

Al Franken is running to be the third senator from California!! Not Minnesota.

  18. el presidente Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 5:43 PM

Perhaps Wade Seeker should better ask Duran Duran about first and last names.

It may be a first and one for the Guinness World Book of Records that a State Republican [GOP} Chairperson spent his the day of his [27th] Wedding Anniversary at a State Democratic [DFL] Convention.

  19. el presidente Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 5:52 PM

hottip: [Third Senator from CA? I don't think so, however, perhaps Senator Larry Craig (R-ID) might be amenable to switching [airport toilet] seats with Senator Norm Coleman (R-MN).]

  20. Wade Seeker Says:
    June 11th, 2008 at 9:03 PM

Rocketman, be sure to check which libtards were hangin with hookers and drowning bimbos too, there may be some that were busy with barny Franks fag service too , ya never know there may be a guiness record that may be overlooked.

Having Alec Baldwin as a reference is kinda like bragging about having herpies in a whorehouse,, someone may have to explain this to the libtards.

  21. el presidente Says:
    June 12th, 2008 at 3:15 AM

In some cases the [left-wing] radicals & the [right-wing] reactionaries embrace each other and work as a team.

Especially when they want to get rid of the status quo.

Skinhead-types and longhair-types getting along together? Sometimes in happens in the wrestling ring.

Barney Franks, Reverend Ted Haggard, and Larry Craig, might have more in common than you think.

Then again, they might not be able to get along at all.

  22. John F Not Kerry Says:
    June 12th, 2008 at 1:10 PM

Does el presidente have nothing better to than hang around here? Seriously. I just check in here maybe once a day, and comment on less than half of the posts, and I LIKE this site, and support its owner. You amaze me EP, but not necessarily in a positive way.

My name is no longer featured in the color red, however, the date, time, and year are featured in red.

That may be code for you have won a vacation to the Insular Area of GUAM. Start brushing up on some Spanish but, especially your Chamorro.

  24. el presidente Says:
    June 12th, 2008 at 10:22 PM

Word Press and the operator MBB, seem to work together MOST of the time.

Usually “Average Joe” isn’t capitalized. However, a day or so ago, on the first post on this thread, the name was capitalized.

John Forbes Kerry is distantly related through his maternal grandmother to four USA presidents, including G.W. Bush.

I am not familiar with the circumstances of the peculiar name of John F [Forbes?] Not Kerry but, it may be something personal.

  25. Carey Sucks Says:
    June 13th, 2008 at 12:20 AM

Alec Baldwin’s greatest movie role was in the movie “Team America”. In real life, his acting is on the same level as Franken’s “comedy”; trash. I remember Baldwin promising to leave the US if Bush won, both times. Perhaps no other country wanted him or his big mouth.
