LTE ON FRANKEN: “THE RECORD, RATED R?”

By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 11, 2008

This is a great LTE.

###

If Al Franken is elected to the U.S. Senate, does that mean the Congressional Record will be R-rated? Or will it become an XXX publication?

It’s really sad that if porn-writer Angry Al is elected, kids studying government will Google him and have to depend on XXX filters.

Many people have a misunderstanding of the many things that comprise the TOTALITY of the CONGRESSIONAL RECORD.

So, are you suggesting that there’s room in the CR for pornography, Rocketman?

Look, if this guy’s past if full of things that the media can’t even print or broadcast for fear of getting fined for indecency, then the guy ain’t fit to be a Senator. Think about that for a second. The media, our supposed watchdogs, can’t even tell us what the guy said. It’s THAT filthy and wrong. And we’re supposed to make him Senator? Sorry, when all he gives me are that and Bush sucks, it ain’t enough.

If many your comments that you have written were taken and posted on the door (as Father Martin Luther did), you could compare and contrast them for yourself.

MBB writes that the letter to the editor references “R-rated” and then also references “XXX publication.”

You could read possibly what is posted on the church door and then possibly knock yourself out.

What the h*** are you talking about? That’s the least sensical comment I’ve ever read on the internet. Ever.

Swiftee had a link to full frontal male nudity where it seems the person had stapled or nailed or _?__ his male organs to the inside of his leg.

Two-Putt Tommy may have a better recollection than I.

Michael B. Brodkorb wrote, “This is a great LTE,” which means Letter to the Editor.

My first comment was that many people do not know what the Congressional Record is.

[In TOTAL, it is not just a record of speeches from the floors of the Legislature. It includes much more than that.]

Swiftee’s comment followed mine. He asked, “…are you suggesting that there is room for pornography…” and ended with “…Rocketman.”

Rocketman is something that he and another poster have tagged me with because I wrote that I may have taken incoming rocket fire when I was in the USA military.

[Swiftee seems to have a difficult time comprehending that a person who supports the Democratic Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party could have been in the USA military and could have sustained some incoming rocket fire.]

Martin Luther was a Catholic Priest. That is a fact that many Protestants overlook.

Swiftee, could also nail his MDE papers to the door, as Father Martin Luther did.

Some of Swiftee’s papers [posts & links] might be classified in that area between R & XXX as outlined in the previous post(s).

The knock on the door, and knock himself out, were a play on the words.

This should be a tad less obscure. If you go back though the archives, and look at Swiftee’s posts, it should become less opaque.
