MUST READ FROM THE NY TIMES: “THE TWO OBAMAS”
By Michael B. Brodkorb | June 22, 2008
“God, Republicans are saps. They think that they’re running against some academic liberal who wouldn’t wear flag pins on his lapel, whose wife isn’t proud of America and who went to some liberationist church where the pastor damned his own country. They think they’re running against some naïve university-town dreamer, the second coming of Adlai Stevenson.
But as recent weeks have made clear, Barack Obama is the most split-personality politician in the country today. On the one hand, there is Dr. Barack, the high-minded, Niebuhr-quoting speechifier who spent this past winter thrilling the Scarlett Johansson set and feeling the fierce urgency of now. But then on the other side, there’s Fast Eddie Obama, the promise-breaking, tough-minded Chicago pol who’d throw you under the truck for votes.” Source: New York Times, June 20, 2008

There’s only one thing more dangerous than the object of a liberals messianic hopes. It’s the object of messianic hope who knows his power over his disciples, and knows they’ll allow him to do or say anything to further his own personal quest for power.
Fidel Hussein Carterbama can do or say anything and his disciples will allow it (and defend it, as we’ve seen here) because they believe he’s their political savior sent here to save us from the Evil “W” and all the conspiracies.
(Of course, Carterbama is all over this and is using it to sell himself to the masses of people with the message of “change”. Change to what, he won’t say. Doesn’t matter to the Bush-haters, though. They “believe” in the messiah who can do no wrong.)

I don’t think Obama’s mind control is all that effective. Personally, I didn’t like Obama’s original position on campaign financing, and I am glad he changed it. The promis that Obama has to us is to run the most effective campaign he can, and if adherence to some past statement conflicts with that, he is violating that promise.

“God, Republicans are saps.”
He nailed that one.

…………………………”MUST READ”
1. Should be obliged to, or out of necessity.
2. An MDE “MUST” read ’cause MBB writes the headlines.

You really think that if the “two Obamas” were put on display next to the Two McCains (2000, 2008) that there would be any question which was more of a political opportunist willing to do or say anything to get elected?
John McCain was a republican maverick, not afraid to shake some feathers in the party back in 2000. Now, he is a foot soldier for the republican middle. And lets not forget the famous quote in 2000 when McCain suggested that he would be too old in 2008 to be president.
Give me two seemingly similar Obamas over two drastically differing McCains any day.
June 22nd, 2008 at 5:07 PM
….and the Carterbama worshipers come rushing to prove my point.
June 22nd, 2008 at 7:14 PM
You don’t have to worship Obama.
Just get used to the idea that a new deity is about to take the reigns of the American congregation.

Remember that there seem to be two (2) average joe’s.
1. Average Joe
2. average joe

Q. What did the two (2) Obamas say behind the two (2) Bushes?
A. Al-a-bama-4-O-bama -or-
Is this really the state where GWB got lost when he was in the U.S. Military?
June 22nd, 2008 at 8:02 PM
I think Dr. Obama is going to discover that the old adage is correct: “You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time…” But you can’t fool a majority for the six long months until the election, even with the MSM covering for you.
June 22nd, 2008 at 8:13 PM
Obama is a phony, race baiting prick. Unfortunately, he’s likely our next President.
June 22nd, 2008 at 9:44 PM
“a foot soldier for the Republican middle” is pretty much what McCain has always been I’d say…
like him or not- he is a man of perfect patriotism and deep character.
Bottom line: this race is Obama’s to lose. I’m anxious to see with all the hype, money and media kid gloves if he can still screw it up. That’s all there is to hope for at this point in the game…and with 4.5 mos of Obama-isms left, it’s possible.
June 22nd, 2008 at 10:20 PM
shozzy seemed to be careful about not switching the words using:
“DEEP” CHARACTER instead of “PERFECT” CHARACTER
June 22nd, 2008 at 10:32 PM
ROFLMAO!!!!
“A. Al-a-bama-4-O-bama -or-
Is this really the state where GWB got lost when he was in the U.S. Military?”
Well, if we’re talkin’ ’bout George aWol Bush, ya, shure, ya betcha!!!!
Oh, wait – since the subject of this “two”, let’s not forget “He Whom Used To Be ‘The StraightTalk Express’” is now:
“The WaterBoard Express”
You want a flip-flop? That’s Bushy McSame going from “The StraightTalk Express” becoming “The WaterBoard Express.”

Chestnut: “Obama is a phony, race-baiting prick. Unfortunately, he’s likely our next President.”
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In rough numbers, half (50%) of the people who could be eligible to vote in America – don’t seem to be interested enough to vote, or seemed to be too disenfranchised to vote, or [?].
In the State of Minnesota that 50% of people who don’t vote is a lower figure.
Essentially, what the USA has had is a little over 25% of the [popular] voters helping decide who the next Prez will be.
Chestnut must not have too much faith in McCain.
June 23rd, 2008 at 12:26 AM
Besides global warming, can anyone name another “moderate” position McCain has? Quite the change from being the old maverick politician of 2000!
June 23rd, 2008 at 12:38 AM
Also, since many right wingers here seemed so offended by Farnken’s rape joke, I’m curious about your position on John McCain accepting money from Clayton Williams, who said this about rape: “As long as it’s inevitable, you might as well lie back and enjoy it.”
Yes, McCain did cancel the fundraiser with Williams (not until the last second with media pressure to do so)…but McCain has said he won’t give back the 300,000 dollars he received from Williams.
I’m just curious if you guys are only offended when a Democrat jokes about rape. Is it okay only when a Republican does so? (And no, I am NOT a Franken supporter. I won’t be voting for Coleman or Franken)
June 23rd, 2008 at 2:09 AM
It is the Republican “GUYS” that I thought were fairly QUIET.
The symbol(s) seemed to be Laura Brod, and white, educated, upper middle class women.
GET YOUR SEXY ON, Annette Meeks a polichick, and Norm Coleman [who does NOT blow dry his wife's hair] DOES take out the garbage ON CUE, apparently with proper lighting.
June 23rd, 2008 at 7:42 AM
Remember that there seem to be two (2) average joe’s.
1. Average Joe
2. average joe
Maybe there are three.
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:42 AM
Clayton Williams political career is through….unless he declares himself a Democrat in which case he probably has a good chance to get the 2012 endorsement.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:00 AM
Here are my examples of a moderate-liberal McCain for whomever posed the question:
McCain-Feingold, McCain-Kennedy, McCain Lieberman-Mccain’s outspoken opposition on Bush tax cuts in ’01 and ’03 (and his continued class warfare rhetoric which makes him sound like a limousine liberal– The other problem is that he’s been in Washington for WAY too long- that makes you a moderate by default.
McCain is generally good on spending, healthcare, Social Security and of course national defense- which is good enough for this conservative to cast her vote.
June 23rd, 2008 at 10:48 AM
“Besides global warming, can anyone name another “moderate†position McCain has? Quite the change from being the old maverick politician of 2000!”
I can name at least three others: illegal immigration (he bought in to liberal amnesty”, campaign finance reform (he bought in to liberal insistence that we squelch free speech), tax policy (though, he was fully moderate/conservative in rejecting Bush’s tax cuts because they didn’t coincide with spending cuts — liberals would really hate that)…
Question: Can anyone name any moderate positions that Barak Obama has taken? The number of them is equal to the number of Barak’s lifetime achievements: Zero.
June 23rd, 2008 at 11:40 AM
“Can anyone name any moderate positions that Barak Obama has taken?”
I’m pretty sure that he has said he doesn’t agree with his very good friends Bill Ayers and Bernadette Dorn as to whether the weathermen’s work has been left unfinished.
But I could be wrong.
June 23rd, 2008 at 12:45 PM
Obama doesn’t refer to himself as Chestnut referred to him: “Obama is a phony race-baiting prick.”
Obama is MUCH MORE MODERATE.
June 23rd, 2008 at 9:37 PM
Now, today, Chestnut added the word “spineless” to prick.
Trying using “spineless pickle.” It probably makes about as much sense, and perhaps it sounds a bit better.
